What a great addition to your sailing holiday, your very own air show. I was lucky enough to see a Lancaster bomber and 1 spitfire, flying off Penarth Pier in Cardiff several years ago. It was for the Penarth Festival during the summer, we heard the engines first before seeing the planes. It was a great experience !
We watched the same Battle of Britain flight about 20 years ago on a sailing club rally to France from about the same location as you. Then went into almost the same berth as you at Eastbourne. We had our Westerly Griffon then and the big block of flats to the south of the berths was still under construction. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
How do you folks think about the visual impact of the wind farms? Here in the northwestern US, beautiful vistas are giving way to windmills dotting everything. Thanks for the airshow.
Hi Eric. We have had them now for so long I guess we are getting used to them so we dont mind it to much. They normally get located in the shallower water so at least you know where the deeper channels are :-)
@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamily fantastic, we have a hunter 23 in the marina opposite burnham on the crouch. I intend to contribute to RUclips this year. If you are in the area please give a shout, maybe we can say hello. I love your videos.
@@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamilyThanks for the reply...i`m looking at the insta x3 i think its the latest model (could be wrong tho?) the footage these cameras give are brilliant far better than a go pro (imho)
Hi Neil. I wouldnt say the the pic quality is as good but it doesn't matter how good the quality is if the camera is not pointing in the right direction. So for me its the insta software that makes the difference as you get to choose what you want to look at when you get home knowing that you wont have missed anything .
Must say this is the second video I've watched of yours and very good I must say, thank you and keep up the good work
Thanks Mike. Glad you enjoyed it. Happy new year
Can’t beat the sight and sound of Spitfires and a Lancaster. Andy UK
It was pretty amazing being right underneath them
What a treat seeing the memorial flight. :-)
Thanks Gavin. Happy new year

Yep, and that's what it looks like in the video. One of each.

Another lovely film, thank you guys! Very poignant for me as my Dad was a navigator on Lancs and I haven’t seen such super footage of one before.
Hi Mike. Thanks, glad you liked it. Its a shame our good camera had packed up or we would have been able to get a much better film of them
08:34 looks like 1 Lancaster, 1 Spitfire, 1 Hurricane
Hi guys. Yup now that we have seen them fly past we agree. Happy new year

Hi Andy. Ummmm yes they do all look a lot more now I agree, the one that we brought was definitely less than a tenner though!
