We switched from school to homeschooling and I noticed that my 5 yr old daughter was very reluctant to any activities that had to do with numbers. After some observation I knew she has had some bad experiences at school with simply writing numbers. So I did a lot of oral activities and then loads of encouragement when writing. She got comfortable and now enjoys numbers but I noticed she does tend to drag her heels at times and I like the point made in the video about working on taking courage and show integrity in doing what we dont like or want at the moment. Full attention and first time obedience is so important from early on. Thank you Sonya and Laura!
Your videos are so very helpful, Sonja. I finished homeschooling my two daughters years ago but now I share these videos with them as they are homeschooling my grandchildren! They have found them to be very helpful as well. Thank you for all the work you put into them.
I am dealing with this RIGHT NOW! TODAY! I am so frustrated. My son thinks everything is "POINTLESS." Math is pointless. Writing is pointless. He can read, but would rather be read to while he does something else. He is very active and doesn't like to sit still or be quiet. He gets angry quickly. He would prefer to be on electronics ALL DAY. I don't mind him using them for some things. I am planning to use documentaries and learning videos from various sources, but he just wants to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it and if I suggest any other way, he thinks I don't care about him. I am so at a loss!
Did things ever improve? I could have written this comment about all my 3 boys but particularly my 11 year old. If I can keep my cool while he argues and just teach anyway he does great and has great answers, it's just so hard when he gets in those moods.

I love Laura's jovially nuanced conversations. She's so witty!
Yes!! Right on point!
Isn't that the perfect topic? There's seems to always be a subject that they don't like. Thanks for the help!
You're very welcome!

@@karolinaska6836 , I guess I don't really know how to create habits, either. Our day got a little better, but I have a lot to learn.
