It takes a lot of courage to use himself as an example! GOD has truly blessed this man! I must and WE must learn from this and do this! SAYING AND DOING ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, THE DIFFERENCE IS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY! THANK YOU JEHOVAH GOD IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR!
I have listened to this three times today because I enjoyed this message that much and there is sooo much in it. I see all sides in question; however, there is one concrete reality that is fact whenever something happens in our lives... GOD ALLOWS for it all to happen (if he doesn't cause things to happen Himself) because if He did not then He would not be all powerful (omnipotent). Believing this does not have to mean that God is apathetic, it just means we don't always understand why God allows things to happen. God who owns the Universe we live in, could not disallow and allow anything that goes on in His creation?!? If we say/believe this, then we are saying/believe that God is not all powerful. I believe God created both evil and good and there is a will of God and a Word of God. God does not go back on His Word as He is faithful to it so no matter how it hurts or what we don't understand, His Word will not return void, it will go on to completion because God is not a man that he should lie. So, i'll listen to this about four more times to go do some more research in Calvinism, etc. Fantastic sermon -- so much covered in 44 minutes.
We have free will and the ability to chose our own destination. It is up to us to pray and follow the Holy Spirit on our each decision. Following the Holy Spirit will help us to choose what GOD has planned for us!!
Today is my mom's birthday, who passed away some time ago. This sermon....there are no words for this sermon. It helped me to better understand & put things into perspective that I have been struggling with in life. It was an honor for my brother and I to see him preach in person, when we lived in Va/Dc . I'm overjoyed that I can listen to him preach, no matter where I go in life. Thank you!
A Davud does not have to be a Counselor! We have to allow people to cope in ways that work for them. My greatest example is a child I worked with on a Psych unit. He begged the SW on my unit, "Please, let me look outside the window at the trees. It will calm me down!" The SW would not. The child lost control and got in trouble! The SW wanted him to process with HER. The child wanted to process with Nature. I can't always reconcile good with evil. I can rest in knowing that there has not been one bad event in life that I didn't eventually overcome. That assurance keeps me moving positively. GOD is always in the wings protecting and guiding, as I make choices.
I also do like the fact that evil is differentiated from sin in this sermon which means that evil can effect sin. I didn't catch that the first time around (mainly because i'm trying to multi-task) but that's definitely a gold nugget right there. Living outside the will of God is sin but sin is not evil; however, I still believe if God created ALL things as Genesis tells us, then He also created evil as it is included in the ALL and our idea of the definition of evil is still from a human perspective. Sometimes what we believe is evil is not really evil at all. Children of God are protected from evil as it should be since God created it.
Did he not say that God placed the tormented spirit in Saul? This pushes things more to the theology that our lives are more predestinated than structured by free will. In other words, God orchestrate the outcome by using whatever spirit that is needed to fulfill his plan. I now ask the question, would Dave, who is called by name for the first time by Saul, would have been called otherwise if God had not placed an unholy spirit in Saul?
Eustress=Good stress! Stress that lingers = harmful. When the "stressors" of daily life interfere with daily, routine, & activities one is subject to develop mental illness. We all have to know individually what helps us cope! Not knowing what to do can be detrimental. We can't knock what works for people! Different doesn't = Crazy.
Praise Jesus Christ. Amen. Your preaching is awesome. Thank you .🙏👍
