Those systems are cool. I always thought it would be cool to have one but the chips have to be dry. Instead I've got an OWB where I can burn junk logs and firewood offcuts like you do for your kiln furnace. The chips from daily operations go to a local biomass plant burning chips to make electricity for the grid.
    Excellent video.

If you adjust the exhaust gas recirc valve, you can burn chips up to 35%MC. Why dont you order the chips early, store them under a covered storage? Just having them sit and air dry under shelter will get you down enough in moisture.
The other option is to wait for your logs to dry (1-2 yrs, depending on diameter and essence) and rent a chipper for a day or 2 to chip your dried logs.

They are definitely great bits of kit and a huge advantage you don’t have to fill it yourself everyday. Just an added cost buying chip or renting/buying a chipper
