Template for the perfect cut tile every time. In this video I show you step by step how to make a template to mark your tile for cutting and how it will give you the perfect fit every time. Large format tiles can be difficult to install, throw in a pattern, and then put it on a diagonal, and now you just made it much harder, not only the are these tiles difficult to install, to get proper thinset coverage, have no tile lippage, keep everything straight and square. Just marking them for cuts becomes a challenge, especially in a confined area, like a closet, or in a doorway. In this video I show you how to make easy work of getting a precise mark to cut and fit your tile. This will also work for smaller tiles, but comes in especially useful for large format tiles. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. Maestro, I like your vídeos, I’m an installer too and I’ve been learning a lot from you, thank you for sharing your knowledge with others
Glad to help
Im a tile installer and no one better then sal. You can learn so much from watching his videos.
The only problem with Sal is he makes everything look easy. 😂
Thanks for the kind words.
Sal, not a tile installer.. an artist !
Great Tips! Thank you for such great videos! Love the accent, like when you are referring to the cod-board lol

Fits like butter 🧈 awesome Sal 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Old school never fails 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
True craftsmanship and precision. Impressive.
Thanks for watching my video.
Another most excellent video, Sal. Those look like some pricey tile I wouldn't want to make a mistake on!
Make a template to avoid mistakes. 😊
That same technique used with the ruler and marking the locations is how I put in linoleum. I put paper down on the entire floor, tape it all together and use diamond cuts to tape it down and mark it accordingly. It's a great tip and so worth knowing how to do.
Great job,
Nice video
Bob
That is where I learned it way back when I did VCT, Lino, hardwood, carpet and more.
@@SalDiBlasi Why did you give up installing all of the other materials?
Awesome!!
I recently did a job installing 47" x 47" tiles (four of them). They were too heavy to carry by myself. I arranged them on the floor in front of the wall to where they would eventually go.I had to cut the bottom two around a fireplace. I literally spent an entire afternoon taking measurements and marking the tiles accordingly, double-checking, and triple-checking everything. While I'm basically happy with how it turned out, making a template - had it occurred to me - would have sped things up, and made the job at least a little less stressful. .
Next time 😊
Awesome video here. Thank you!
I like the suction device you have there. I bet that comes in handy
A must have for big tiles amzn.to/2XWWsWT
Fantastic…. !
You show the best tips for us being able to do a professional tile installation. Much appreciated. Quick question when you slide a tile in like that to clear the jam do you have to do anything special with the thinset application. I know you have no choice to install the tiles this way. Just wondering if the thinset might move too much as you slide in the tile.
Thanks
Excelente trabajo señor!
😊👍
that was very informative. thanks
You're welcome!
Sal I’ve got a question for you.
Would you prime an OSB sub floor before you layed down your straramat ?
If you were going to do so what type of primer would you use?
Thanks, CB
a little confusing but nice job Sal,well explained.
Thanks for watching my video.
Triangle is mark of a pro.
Thank you for another great video. Did you have to free hand the cut with an angle grinder? or did you make some of the cuts on a tile saw? Do you have another video that shows how to made that cut?
I have a big tile wet saw that will cut up to 48"
Wow Sal nice work bro!! As Always!! That tile fitted like a glove! Best tile youtube channel on youtube!!! Sal what is the blue foam for? Thank you sir!

Here is what it was used for. ruclips.net/video/eDg6pjD001o/видео.html
Threshold bar to the closet easier?
@sal diblasi why do you make lines on the opposite side of what you originally made for the template I'm confused if you draw out the lines for the tile to fit why would you remark them
Great idea Sal but this takes way to much time!
Actually quite quick when you aren't showing how to do it
awesome video! quick question what suction cup device are you using ? id really like to get my hands on one of those . really looks effortless when you pick up such a big tile with that machine.
You can get it here amzn.to/3DxPqbF
Great video Sal!...did you use an angle grinder to make the cuts?
Bridge wet saw.
Sal - did you cut the cardboard one more time based on the one inch marks that were made around the template? It appears from the video that you cut to the inside of the temple closest to the wall and didn’t even use the 1” marks? I’m a little confused? Otherwise awesome video!!
The area around the cut just has to be close, within the thickness of your straight edge. the cardboard can not cover the area where you need to mark the tile.
Can also simply add some tape as needed to your template instead of marking with the straight-edge.
Amazing
Thanks
Sal
Where can I buy that vacuum suction grip tool? Cost? Jeff
