You should cover up the DIY nest in something dark to make it better for them and I think they would get in pretty quick!

Do you have Bullet Ants colony?
How many ants could the colony possibly have if trated well? They seem to be a species with far fewer numbers than most

I did this with 80 lb concrete test beams but used soil rectangular for Tetramorium out side even used hollow weeds as places to live both worked but the soil was better had more adhesion actually the ants took over this block until some kids started beating it with a hammer yea i was mad told them never to play on my property again ..Im thinking of doing this with light weight conc. have bought some large flower pots about 4 ft tall going to place blocks in side so they have living quarters backfilled by soil and keep them safe from to much water wish me luck as maybe this is my last hoorahh at doing this as Im just getting to old . Like you channel and simplicity of doing things

What do camponotus albosparus ants usually eat? Thank you for your valuable time!
They usually eat dead insects and honey dew in the wild buddy, mine loves crickets/roaches for protein and honey/fruits for carbs.

My Queen ant still has her wings but she layed eggs can she still fly or no?
If it's not yet mated buddy, there's a huge chance for it to fly if it's on an open set up.

Yes buddy will work best on carpenter ants, it will also work on fire ants just give them enough space, cause they can dig into it if given no choice

D colony is it possible to make an ant farm for a founding queen to start? I know a testube set up would be good, but I'm asking for a small simple ant farm that could found a colony.
Hey I saw this and I wanted to respond. Although test tube setups can be good you can also try making a container filled with moist sand. And a rock to place food for the nanitics, ant queens like lasius tetramorium and solenopsis arent picky where they live so a sand farm will let the queen dig naturally and she will be happier, hope this helps.
