- In this short video documentary Denniz Pop’s son, Daniel Volle seeks his roots to find out what his dad has meant to people who worked with him as well as what his legacy has meant to young Swedish music makers of today. Featuring Max Martin, Martin ”E-type” Eriksson, Kayo, Daniel Volle and Jacob Schulze. Also featuring Denniz Pop Awards rookie prize nominees Shy Martin, Elina Stridh, Fredrik Danielson, and Nirob Islam, plus Emma Bertilsson and Litens Anton.
Denniz Pop Awards is a charitable foundation initiated in 2013. The foundation carries the name of Denniz Pop, our beloved friend, colleague, and mentor who left us far too early. It’s a way for us to both honor his memory, and carry on the legacy he once started.
The foundation supports:
1. The Denniz Pop Award cash prizes awarded annually to rookie talents taking their first steps into the music industry.
2. Activities and events that uplift and mentor young aspiring songwriters, producers, and musicians - and help carry on the Swedish music export tradition.
3. Radiumhemmet, Sweden’s first cancer treatment facility. Contributing to the improvement of patients’ healthcare environment, and enabling study-abroad trips for nursing staff.

Denniz deserves a movie, his legacy is timeless
Jag ramla på min skateboard utanför studion en gång. Den som kom utrusande för att hjälpa mej var Dagge. En god själ. En fin själ. Han körde hem mej i din bil. Avbröt sitt jobb för att köra hem mej. De va din pappa.
Ok bättre sent en aldrig! Klart att man får en tår i ögat när man ser något sådant. Cheers och R.I.P Dagge.

Unikt reportage. Dag Volle skapade ett unikt Sound och en unik stil. Funk...reggae... ihop med pop Som funkar både i radio och på dansgolvet. Fortfarande så blir man imponerad när man lyssnar igenom proddar av Dagge. En sån talang. Så grymma produktioner. Man önskar Dagge hade funnits kvar och fortsatt göra Hits.

I’m a former Romanian Club and Radio DJ, growing up in the late 80’s early 90’s, and today I don’t think 2-3 month pass without me mentioning Denniz Pop to somebody in discussions, that’s how big he is to me. And not a day passes without me playing at least a song produced by him. Just yesterday I played the “One Love” album by Dr. Alban, which basically starts with the robotic voice saying “Hello, Denniz Pop, enter choice !”

Dear Daniel. You can be proud of your father. Right now I am having a night duty at ICU as a doctor. And even in these hard covid times, there are some songs coming over my mind when taking care of the patients. These hits help me to concentrate, get calm, bring me back to my teen years and have a deep meaning for me overall. And your father created almost all of these songs. I will never forget him and my little kids are starting to sing his hits too. He will stay here forever. Best wishes from Prague, CZ.
This comment made me tear up. I live with an alcoholic father, and some many* of the songs made in the 90 and made from the studio Cheiron makes me go back in time to when my father was a normal working dad.
A legendary producer and great human being
Big props to the people behind the making of this documentary. The last scene where the son was walking and a little boy was passing him, running on his own, was kind of a metaphore for the son getting through life alone and missing his dad. Touching scene. The whole documentary was heartfelt and it was awesome to listen to all these charismatic, talented and sweet artists talk about Dennis Pop. You can tell from the impact and the great ripple effect caused on these people, by his personality, that he must have been such an amazing person and that he tought them about what's most important in life. I feel sad to think about that we didn't get to know him, but I bet one day we'll all be reunited again... 😊😊☀️ Somewhere over the rainbow 😃😊🙌
It's true, as a German I really do have a very good impression of Sweden and great respect for this small country especially because of Denniz Pop, Max Martin, Shallback, Ace of Base and Abba (and also Icona Pop who made some really cool songs).
Thank you for the film, and it's strange that this video has so few views, Denniz Pop is a real legend and a genius who has made an impact on people's lives. Huge appreciation and respect from Russia.

I will never forget that track nro 1: introduction to "it's my life" from Dr.Alban - one love album. It's so classic Dennis Pop. And thanks for this video. Dennis Pop was the king in my youth.
This is wonderful, and Daniel is so sweet, too. I got emotional several times watching people like Max and E-type & Kayo talk about Denniz... Would've nice to have mentioned Nana Hedin, too. Would love to know how she's doing, too.

At 12:00 after hugging Denniz son, Max had a hard time suppressing tears. Seems that they all didn't yet get over Denniz tragic demise.
Beautiful! Can´t get enough og watching Dag. Although I never new him. Remember reading Andreas Carlssons book; he claimed Dagge must have been an angel! From the emotional footprint he left; Andreas must have been right. R.I.P.
