Hi everyone, New Edit: Upon further evaluation and reading the comments, I have to decided to change the thumbnail and the title back, and more similarly to how it was originally. With all the comments here, I'll drop another positive comment here as a Sapphic Woman. I took some music theory classes before and did have to write lyrics for an original song as part of the coursework. So Ill say this, writing lyrics goes differently. People use this song in mlm edits and nobody bats an eye, for Christ’s sake, but suddenly someone changes the lyrics to fit an mlm narrative and you’re all insulting him

I’m so sorry that person sent out a witch hunt on you without actually clicking on your video and understanding the context of the song being changed to mlm. Your cover isn’t going to make the world explode or erase the progress made for lesbians. It’s a damn cover of a song this person likes and clearly resonated with him. Pick your battles. There are more pressing issues.
Dude this was so beautiful, I think the beauty of art is everyone taking their own spin on things! Go off slayer I love this YOU SANG WONDERFULLY
💜💙
Even when i saw the title for the first time i could tell it was an mlm cover, and even if the other commenters’ first impression was a straight cover, it’s terrible that they immediately became very toxic about this without even knowing the full context
Your voice is great, dude. This is a cool mlm rewrite. Gay men and lesbians are both victims of comphet and yet we’re fighting about this when we could be chill and unite over our shared experiences
This was the male cover i expected, the lyrics being covered but in a way that it still kept the same context as Chappell Roan originally made it. Love your voice ❤❤
I totally get that people were concerned you were making a queer song straight, but I will say, the ambiguity that seeing the initial video gives you (unsure of whether it'll be an MLM or straight cover) is great for engagement lol! It's what made me click to see which one it was... as a fellow mlm, hearing a song I already love from this perspective just made it hit even harder than before, I can really relate to your version on another level fr... also your voice is beauuutiful!!! Keep singing man, this is a beautiful cover :)
yoo well I guess it worked out after all ahaha thank you for giving this a listen! and I appreciate your encouragement a lot ❤️
I swear, as a queer woman, this comment section is so fucking stupid. This is a great mlm cover, good job
More sapphic support coming your way! We need MLM representation like this!
I’m so sorry about all the hate you got for this!! I saw this video pretty soon after it got posted and before most of the comments had poured in. After listening I realized it was about a mlm relationship and that the wording of the thumbnail was just an accident, and I wish I had commented something that maybe could have helped people understand your true intentions. This video popped in my mind again this morning so I decided to check again and I’m so sad to see how bad it got. It really is a beautiful cover misunderstanding aside and I hope the best for you!!
As a lesbian, there is nothing wrong with this rewrite. It's written for an mlm relationship because gay men also experience comphet. This isn't offensive and is very beautifully written. Remember to spread love, not hate
This is the mlm version of the song. How did y'all even get this misunderstood?????
This has to be the WILDEST comment section I've ever seen. So let me get this straight; he's not allowed to sing a song originally intended to be about lesbians because he's not...a lesbian? Well gee, i didnt know you could only cover songs that relate to your own identity. Guess ill just wipe my playlist of LGBTQ musicians and songs because I'm straight and can only support the people who are like me. 🥴
Art is always subjective and will always be up to individual interpretation. You made this song your own and you shouldn't be shamed for that. This is a beautiful cover of a beautiful song ❤️
Lesbians barley have any representation, meanwhile gay man have a crap ton. So yeah, it's pretty rude of him to center a lesbian song around men 😂
Ive never understood gatekeeping music, if someone made a wlw cover of a mlm/straight song, everyone would be cheering 😭
also it’s literally still a gay cover lol he’s a guy who likes guy
this version is honestly great, lgbtq is about inclusivity and this guy doesn't deserve hate for making a cover of a song for the perspective that people can also relate to
If someone took a MLM song and made a WLW cover of it this comment section would be cheering. 😂
I KNOW RIGHT, LIKE SOME (SOME) LESBIANS AND GIRLS IN GENERAL GETS OFFENDED BC WE "STEAL" THEIR MEME OR SONG. BUT ITS ALL FINE WHEN ITS A WLW COVER OR WLW RELATING MLM.
No they wouldn’t lol. Just appreciate the cover instead of trying to pick a fight please. 😩
@@imthebossmermaid3648no they rlly wld tbh, lmao. double standards😊
@@no-bj1ux If you say so 🤷🏾♀️.
they definitely wouldnt but sure man
y’all a little bit too intense and impulsive when it comes to addressing issues 😭
I'm so happy he did justice to the wife part and rephrased it beautifully instead
This is Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens when Hamilton found out he had been married for a year and didn't tell him lmfao (im crying)
omg anyone hating because you related to a song about comphet is ignoring how important and real queer guy 🤝 queer girl solidarity is. i understand people’s strong feelings toward this song, because it’s about the experiences of many queer women, but as an entire community we’re strengthened when we connect over the things that make us similar, and we’re weaker when we divide ourselves by picking petty fights. lots of love, your cover is awesome 💜💜💜
lol wait did people actually just assume you were straight-washing the song without even listening to your cover??? that’s cray cray lol anyway
@@rachelk-w6341 Because "those" kinds of people see a man on ANYTHING and immediately assume it's an attack on their life or something.
i thought this was just some guy trying to straightify the song.. but then i read the description and he said this is from a mlm perspective, and i was like, "okay, valid. go off king."
Late but notice how he made this song about internalized homophobia instead of comphet? (Hence how he said "deny your feelings" instead of "stop the feeling")
the term of usually refers to lesbian people as i know
Idk why twt is hating on this cover?? It got the same recognition as Caleb Hyles’ Little Miss Perfect cover, where they made it an MLM cover. Music is for everybody yall😭
This is beautiful, it would be interesting to see it from the perspective of a man who’s wife is secretly lesbian and in love with another woman which is what I thought this was gonna be
Your voice is so beautiful! I’m not really sure how to describe it, but it’s got this floaty air to it.
this is really sweet of ya :) thank you for the support!
thanks for making a mlm cover, its such a good song and i wanted to relate to it more and this is such a awesome cover, amazing singing. I honestly thought it was a very obvious fact that it was a MLM rendition of the song till i came to the comments, please keep this cover up and keep making more because goddamn you have one hell of a voice.
PLEASE why is everyone overreacting? Its an mlm cover and males go through this too. Honestly I feel like chappell would love this
YOUR VOICE IS AMAZING YOU LITEALLY MAKE ME THINK OF A HOLE ANIMATION IN MY HEAD OF MY OCS 😭😭
WHERE ARE THE HATE COMMENTS YALL ARE TALKING ABOUT BRO- also this cover is majestic
Scroll down a bit. They were posted around a month ago.
Finally mlm version, not just making it straight❤
i wonder if the girl chappell is singing to is married to the guy this dude is singing to. that would be….. interesting.
YES YES YES YESSSS
@@SUMMII.F beards but they don’t know it yet
Finally an MLM version. I see to many guys cover this and make it straight, so thank you for keeping the original vibes.
I’m a lesbian and a love your cover. The pain in the lyrics comes out more clearly than the high energy original. Thanks for sharing!
begging people to please read the pinned comment or at least use some critical thinking and comprehension skills to notice the part of the lyrics he adapted to make this a MLM version of the original song ─ and a beautiful, beautiful one at that might I add! ♡
With all the comments here, I'll drop another positive comment here as a Sapphic Woman.
I took some music theory classes before and did have to write lyrics for an original song as part of the coursework. So Ill say this, writing lyrics goes differently. And you managed to change the lyrics and yet it flows as well as the original along with the instrumental!
Additionally, I love the lyric changes! Its not just pronouns and in my view, highlights more of the toxic masculinity men go through, especially those in the closet. I really like this cover overall! You did great with the lyric changes and I do want to make an animatic with this cover one day. Sending love to you!
the range!!!!!! most of the female covers dont go up the octave for the chorus and you did it beautifully!!
I'm so sorry for the amount of hate comments you're getting in this comment section for absolutely no reason, I can understand that they might have thought the title was a bit offensive but we're literally on RUclips where clickbait is common, not to mention if they actually listen to the song instead of seeing the title pausing the video and immediately going to the comment section to hate on it they'd understand what this song was actually , not to mention if they actually listen to the song instead of seeing the title pausing the video and immediately going to the comment section to hate on it they'd understand what this cover was actually about. Thank you for making such an awesome cover tho💜😁 and you dropped this👉✨👑✨ here have it back 🤴
💙💜
your voice is absolutely beautiful!! like i’m in awe hearing it… i especially love when you sang the chorus
also i’ve been searching for a mlm cover of this song, and i can’t believe the other male covers of this song didn’t change the lyrics at all 😭 anyways you changed the lyrics perfectly i love it!! thank you for sharing with us 🫶
we needed an mlm version! thank you :D!
this is a very valid feeling of being hurt when the person you thought truly loved can't commit because you can't satisfy them I love that you made this as untoxic and sensitive as possible keep it up
This is exactly what I was looking for when I typed "Good luck, babe! Male version" !!!!
That’s what I’ve been looking for thank you for making it
The comments just prove that even though they’re the same thing in different flavors, MLM and WLW will always think less of each other
Notice how the “This is a lesbian song” comments are only in this specific male cover that changes the lyrics to be MlM… aka it’s still about being treated like an ‘experience’ as a gay person. But with other Male covers where they didn’t even put a teeny effort in changing the meaning given who it’s sung from and what it’s about… sigh
GOOD VOICE BABE! GOOD COVER BABE
Okey? Wtf with the comments 💀 this is OBVIOUSLY a MLM version and I LOVE IT. Your voice is amazing! And I really really like the little detail of "deny your feelings" ITS AMAZING
jesus christ guys, this is supposed to be an mlm version of the song, not a straight guy trying to convert a lesbian 💀 can we maybe not gatekeep a song that can encapsulate an experience so many queer people have?
Glad to see the balance seems to have tipped in a more positive direction in the comments because this is an amazing cover and the small changes to the lyrics are really thoughtful and effective.
My friend just shared this song in our group. Thank you for this wonderful song, Mr. Tay.
hey! Thank you for leaving this sweet comment and for sharing it with your friends ❤️ It means a lot to me, really.
I need this on spotify 😭
Im a simple man, i hear good luck babe! And i upvote
💜💙
I'm a gay guy and I loved this song but I wanted to hear a mlm version of this song. Thanks for making it and helping me feel seen
good to see the comments are mostly positive
Your version is really splendid. I am used to listening to it because I do love it. Thank you so much.
I WAS LOOKING FOR AN MLM COVERRRRR
This is what the maxley crowd needs
I was just originally gonna sing along but then I started to tear up. Your cover/mlm version is so good, it made me rethink that I might be more gay than bi than I initially thought.
More love to ya!
I love the mlm rewrite, cause lemme tell you?? Your voice is gorgeous and I love Chappell Roan and just fjfkjfjgog you didnt deserve any of the hate you got for no reason. Keep it up!!!! 💗💗💗💗
I was searching for covers by curiousity and oh golly.....i love his voice so much man 😭✨💕 You're amazing!
(Anyways, have yall a good splendid day :D)
thank you for the support and positive energy frfr 💕
I love songs with mlm and wlw perspectives it's always hits way hard
BRO... HIS VOICE. IS MAJESTIC.
I usually don't like when people change the lyrics of songs ( For example if the songs says "I love him" and they change the lyrics to "I love her") but this is a BIG exception!!
I say this as a bi trans man: the LGBTQ community really can’t let each other have anything sometimes huh? This is an mlm cover of the song. If you don’t like it move on.
We as a whole get so much hate from society in general, why do we have to attack EACH OTHER over something like this? I don’t think Chappell Roan would take kindly to seeing everyone in this comment section saying horrendous things to a gay man for making a cover of her song relating to another gay experience of his own. People use this song in mlm edits and nobody bats an eye, for Christ’s sake, but suddenly someone changes the lyrics to fit an mlm narrative and you’re all insulting him
It’s bc they all came straight from twitter, and twitter users are always looking to be mad at something 😭 I bet Chappell roan wouldn’t even care
It's funny you say "we can't let each other have anything" as though he literally didn't just make a lesbian song about men. Correction: LESBIANS can't have anything.
@@salty_fishy9387Girl, he never said that the original shouldn’t exist or implied as much. That’s absolutely letting lesbians have something. It was just a “hey, I really like this! I’ll do something similar!” Y’all attacking him for it and actively saying he CANT have it is the only side actively trying to stop someone from having something.
That’s like yelling at someone who parked next to you in a parking lot even though you already had your own spot.
bro i read the title and oF COURSE IT'S AN MLM SONG BRO WHAT'RE Y'ALL ON IT'S BEAUTIFUL
Please don’t delete this, you deserve to have your talent and work recognized. You did nothing wrong and still honor the song’s message. Nothing is being taken away from lesbians because the original song still exists. The hate you received is unjustified and the person who spread this video is a mean and nasty person for putting you on blast.
I’ve been wondering how long I’ll scour the internet before I came across an mlm version of good luck babe. This is so aweosmeeeee
ITS SO GOOD. I FINALLY FOUND A MLM VERSION AND YOUR VOICE IS LIKE AN ANGEL 😭❤️ IGNORE THE SILLY HATE COMMENTS I’M TRYING TO SPELL GORGUES 😍
This is actually beautiful my god there’s just so emotion in it aaaaa good job!
GUYS ITS A MLM COVER WHAT DONT YOU UNDERSTANDDDD 😭
This guy gets me. I've been trying to find the mlm cover of my fav song. As an Achillean boy, i feel appreciated! Thanks for creating thsi cover! :)
yall are talking about hate comments and i cant find nothing 😭
This is BEAUTIFUL! I love the way you changed some of the lyrics to better express the mlm experience! 💖
This was a lovely mlm perspective!!! All gays love Chappell Roan
Bro’s voice is absolutely majestic
0:28 this did something to me,... like seriously, I uncontrollably dropped my jaw and I felt it in my stomach.
Damn.
I don't get the comments arguing about different perspectives. His voice is so angelic ❤
This sounds amazing! It's not your fault that people misunderstand what you're trying to do, and attack you for it.
The way you slide into those notes was so effortlessly amazinggghg❤
To the people in the comment section, it's just a cover. Why does it matter if a guy is singing? Sounds kinda sexist.
AHAHA I FINALLY FOUND A MLM VERSION ON RUclips this is SO good
I listen more to your version than to the original song. 😂 I LOVE IT! And I identify so much with it as a man who feels attracted to other men.
Your voice is something that can only be described in one way: HYPNOTIZING JUST LIKE A SIREN'S VOICE 😩💘✨🫶
