The bass part totally makes it. Along with the drums and about five or six guitar parts, of course. Helps to have one of the most powerful singers singing, too.

This was my band when I was in school, the drummer was a big influence on me as a teenage drummer. Paul Rogers on vocals is one of the best, he has that bluesy soulful thing going on. Mick Ralphs on guitar and Boz Barell on bass. Deep rabbit hole of really good music. Enjoy.
Paul Rodgers & Simon Kirk were together in Free (Mr Big, All Right Now, The Stealer, Wishing Well etc) After Free broke up due to drug issues with their guitarist, they looked to form a new band with ex Mott The Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs. First band to sign to Led Zeppelin's new record label Swan Song. This was the 1st album and ir went to #1 as did their 2nd one. Simon Kirk has been one of my drumming heros along with John Bonham Rocorded at Hedley Grange in some down time with Zep's IV album recording sessions

Please check out some Genesis' songs like "Firth of fifth", "The Musical Box", "Supper's ready", "Dancing with the moonlit knight", "One for the Vine" ... This band is awesome and they were the very best of the progressive rock movement in the 70s
