    Eliza E. Hewitt (1851-1920)
He was the one who wrote the words to this Hymn, My Faith Has Found a Resting Place.

The pastor never said Joel Edwards authored the song. He narrated the story of Joel Edwards who was also inspired by the song.

The ministet DID NOT mention that the British was the composer of the song. He simply said when the man qas asked what he had to say, he said....my fath has found.......". The man simply might have sang his favourite song which was composed by the American years ago. Anyway Lidie Edwards was the pen name for Eliza Hewitt.

Yeah, what the Minister narrates fits the song and sound good but we cannot accept that as the true story and picture of the author of the hymnal. The true story has been there for years...thanks

Though this sounds inspiring, this is NOT the story of the Song as the song was written by Eliza E.Hewitt and Music Composed by William James Kirkpatrick as speculated below:
MY FAITH HAS FOUND A RESTING PLACE, written in 1891
    The Story
Eliza E. Hewitt (1851-1920) was a public school teacher. One of her students struck her with a heavy slate and she suffered a severe spinal injury which forced her to retire from teaching… and made her an invalid the rest of her life in Philadelphia.
However, she was able to continue to be involved with children in Sunday School and as superintendent at the Northern Home for Friendless Children. She was also used to write a number of hymns… hundreds of hymns!
We don’t know the specific story behind the writing of this hymn, but we can assume it grew out of her experience. If you have placed your faith in the finished work of the Cross, then you, too, can sing along with this song.
Major hymnals show the author as Lidie H. Edmunds, Hewitt’s pseudonym.
William J. Kirkpatrick (1838-1921) wrote the music for this hymn.

You can’t be lying boldly in the things of the Lord. The song was written by an American Elizabeth Edmunds Hewitt (who also wrote When we all get to Heaven) and you’re here narrating a story in England wow.

The pastor was discussing Joel Edwards' inspiration from the song, not crediting him as the author😊

In as much as this sounds inspiring, Unfortunately 😢this is NOT the story behind the Song as the song was written by Eliza E.Hewitt and Composed by William James Kirkpatrick. More of this on "Inspiring Stories Behind Our Best- Loved Hymns"- get a copy now.

Unfortunately, though Dr Lawrence Tetteh’s version is inspiring it is not accurate. Elizabeth Edmund Hewitt was the writer.

Why do you like this pastor...you do not need to make our Lord looks awesome. He is glorified already. Do not tell lies to exalt God because HE is exalted already. Eliza Edmunds Hewitt was the author and she didn't owe any money and she didn't see the king etc. All lies
