TC & GB - Abandoned Railroad - Arizona US. - Subtitled [ᶜᶜ]

- TUCSON CORNELIA & GILA BEND railroad was incorporated in 1915 for use by the New Cornelia Mine. at Ajo. Originally, the railroad was intended to connect to Tucson Arizona US. The railroad was in operation from 1916 until the 1980s.
I tried to travel in the month of September 2023 the almost 45 miles of tracks that are still complete but I was only able to do only 3 miles. The reason is that it is full of bushes and there are even trees in the middle of the trakcs, which made me continually derail. impossible to transit.
I love all of your railcart adventures!...best regards from Australia.
Thank you!!!!
In the early 1970's several of us from Tucson were able to ride the TC&GB round trip from Ajo to Gila Bend. Somewhere in my archives I have some poor quality 8mm movies documenting the trip
How I would like to see those 8mm!!!! wow!!
Whoa! That would be amazing if you could find and upload them!
Necesito un jardinero@@archiemoreno
Que bueno seria poder ver
aquel Ferrocarril como
era en su apogeo.
Respetuosos Saludos
Mr. Glenn...!!
You can get the Super 8 digitized (DVD/Thumb Drive).
This was a tough journey Archie, but you and Zorrito did really well for a first trip along those rails. So many trees, and tracks out of gauge, too. Glad you made it back safely, and I hope you'll come here again sometime.
Thank you 😊
A live or solid axle that turns both back wheels at the same time would help a lot. Only having one wheel powered is pushing your cart down the tracks at an angle and explains the hard starts and derailments. Looks like a good time otherwise!
Esta bien lo que dices, pero,
observa con atencion
al principio del video,
cuando Archie,
señala hacia Ajo.
=Se ven los ejes=
de Zorrito.
Ambas ruedas traseras giran
"sobre el mismo eje largo",
con la traccion a la izquierda,
igual que las delanteras
con un freno de disco en
el mismo lado, el del conductor.
Saludos Amigo...!!
A few miles of the TCGB RR right-of-way is in a gated area for I believe about 15 miles towards Ajo. Hidden Arizona did a drive thru (by car) of the old TCGB route a few years ago. The tracks get way worse as you progress. There are some parts of the tracks that have inches of sand piled onto them. As much as it sucks that you were able to get so far, kind of cool that you did. Your cart is probably the first wheels that it is seen in quite some time.
It is gated, because it passes through what is now a US Air Force Bombing Range! So I don't think you would want to go through there with Zorrito!
@@BillinHungary yeah already knew about that from Hidden Arizona's video.
@@BillinHungary Maybe an armored Simplex. No good for a direct hit though .
Thanks for clearing the track for me FATLOLO from Yuma AZ
I saw that tree coming at 27:13 and was shouting slow down - ouch!
Need a brush mower on the front, thanks for the videos.
Yes
Real bad tracks 😮! Be careful out there!
Amazing video of the abandoned train tracks in Arizona, i like it 5 stars.
Thumbs up.
Keep up the great work, my friend, I subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Use to offroad with buds in Gila Bend area. Really loving the videos compadre. ✌🏻
Gracias!!
AZ Adventures AMIGO !
Tons of old mining Tracks Here.
Fun adventure. I'd have no problem on a cool day clearing those tracks. Good times!
I Want To Congratulate, And Shake Your Hand. That Was A Difficult Trip You Managed
Well Done.👏👏👏
Me encanto mucho! Gracias..
"Una prueba de fuego para Zorrito",
que demostro ser tan guapo
como Little Fox.
Este trayecto desconocido,
resulto ser mucho mas
complicado de lo que
cualquiera hubiera esperado.
Y por el mismo motivo,
hiciste bien en regresar.
"ES PARA IR DE A 2",

un poco la pista

🇦🇷😊😊
That was rough to watch. Felt so bad for you. To many large bushes and trees. The tracks were not so good either. I hope the rest of your day was better.
He knows before going out it might not be smooth sailing. All part of the fun
Need a sharp saddle guard to cut those bushes and trees down; nice ride, amazing 44 years since anyone passed on these rails!
Weed whackers needed on the sides
Hope it will stay in place and used for a scenic railroad would be good for tourists need the weeds cut down so you won't keep derail
Great video Amigo!
Love your videos amigo Hola from U.S. Ohio safe travel's 🙏
Thank you 😊😊😊
a winter project suggestion. get a few volunteers and make the stretch of line usable again for carts
That looks fun i walk the train tracks all the time
Gracias !👍😊🚂
The branch loppers was a nice tool to have (short of a chainsaw & lighter), onboard. Shame it was so overgrown and kept you from going very far. New Sub, Me! Appears that you are very popular, with 333K subs.
Would a blade or wedge of some kind on the front help with the trees?
You living my dream.. hope to do this just once someday.. cheers! 🌟
That black and red lava rock ballast reminds me of the old Santa Fe branch lines we once had here in the central valley of California. Most of them were pulled out around 1994-1996
Archie: Main difference is these tracks haven't been used since 1986. Great video!
This is very cool. Do you know who owns the line/land? Is it legal to clear some of the brush?
Oh yes .is legal
Freeport McMoRan owns the line and the New Cornelia mine at the end of the line in Ajo.
A l ways scout new track, grest job
That was a rough ride.
The pronunciation of the word for "miles"-- como "mizhes" -- me gusta amigo.
Jajajaja miyas !!!!
Que aventura!! Aqui no Brasil tem várias ferrovias abandonadas
A real crazy hobby! Amazing! 😅😊
I posted before I watched the end. Man, what a bad track!
Interesting design, when I was a kid the Fairmont railway speeder was being sold off by CN in my area. Might have been an idea to buy one, I saw a railman swing one of these cars off the track himself with long poles he put under the car. Seems to remember there being one rail cart with swing-up road wheels which swung out when on the rail but down when they hitched it to a truck. I guess this configuration would not be that hard to configure, just over-centre wheels into tubes on the sides of the cart. Much like torsion suspension trailers/.
Aventura de primera clase. Archie, you are the best. I have been following you on all of your runs. I live in Oceanside and it was sad to see the EMRR run removed. Looks like several of the tunnels on the Carrizo Gorge have been closed or have collapsed. Keep finding new track routes, and I hope to join you later.
Awesome! Thank you!
Use that air compressor to drive a pneumatic grinder with a blade on it mounted out front. Then you can just slow down, run the grinder and cut right through without derailing while doing some track maintenance at the same time.
yes , be careful out there!
to see you brought the tree loppers this time =P
this one is a different vehicle than the Little Fox , si ?
hey , i have an idea ! ...could you ever take people on tours with your little rail carts ?
...make an enterprise out of it =)
Nadie toca nada
Ich liebe Deine Videos ! Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.
Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to move out thee and do track maintenance on those lines. I would love to do that.
Archie, I would like to see a video about your rail cart building. I'm interested in your wheels. Where did you get them?
Looking your video I saw at 13:00 (the derailment) some paint marks on the track. Can be a repair place sign?
Greetings from Buenos Aires - Argentina!
Those weeds are Chernobyl tough! So much that they derail the Fox Railcart!!! 😮
Please leave the subtitles visible for a little longer.
On a rough section of track like this one, what spare parts and tools do you bring with you?
I don't believe you abandoned your car where you did! You are lucky it wasn't stolen AND you are lucky you made it as far as you did BY YOURSELF! But I am not one to talk, when I first came out to AZ in 1970 I went all over the desert BY MYSELF and never got lost or hurt!
Just fill a water bottle with sand and when you get no traction just put a little on the track
It's a wonder scrappers hasn't been coming out and stealing a lot of those rails.
Um Show de aventura!
Gila in my language mean Crazy. Well that is so related with the track conditions 😂
Muito corajoso em fazer essa aventura sozinho. Parabéns.
¡Pura vida!
Ah, foiled by a Palo Verde!
At 28:25.
23:29 how did you land that?! Incredible
How far did you go, and how did you get back.
I cannot imagine how many times you derailed, but I hope you at least braced for impact.
Ótimo video parabéns .
You should put some saw blades on as flanges 😂
I would like to know where you bought your compass meter at I see the name brand was s h l e y I could not find it on the internet
in my opinion the vehicle has wheels that are too small, if it had wheels that were twice as large it would be much better...It is also too light, in fact when there are two people it is much more stable.
Are you Argentinian by chance?
What an ungodly place to live...
You need actual 🛞 tires and just use a metal disc to hold them on the rails. But this will save you from any gaps. Plus better speeds easy launch from a stand still.
Depending on engineering skills might even be able to rig it so the cart could be driven off the rails pull a lever guards come down holding the tires to the rails.
Weld rear axle
Deve ter uns 200 anos anos kkkkkkk
🥸🥸👍👍
Estrada de trilhos péssima tá horrivel cara 😢😢😢😅😅😅
This track is no bueno!🤣
Your in America chico, speak English
@dan-fr9dn:
That's really very arrogant. Almost all US Americans who come to Europe as tourists always only speak English and they expect all Europeans to speak English for them. Americans here in Europe could also speak Spanish, French or German
You are in the U S, speak english
Hi, my English pronunciation is not very good, so to speak. but it has subtitles in English so you can understand what I'm saying. You just have to activate closed caption. Thank you

so this is how u guys cross
Very fun! I think a brush trimmer that mechanically slices would be helpful.
This has to be the most satisfying thing ever, being so remote and far away from everything just on the old tracks....
I just came across your videos and i love it!! You’re a man after my own heart, in that i would love to do this! Exploring old railroad tracks is something I’ve wanted to do for years! Subbed!
Awesome video!
I wonder if traction tape on your drive wheel would help with launching from a standstill. You can find it at boating and pool supply stores for ladders in wet applications.
Also, would a more-powerful engine in conjunction with a 10-speed bicycle transmission be able to get you going a little smoother?
Last suggestion: Would a push bar with blade-like extensions over the front wheels help cut through the brush and cut down on derailments?
Very good idea about the belt for the drive traction, and the speeds, I think the motor I have is capable of 7 HP. Thank you very much for the tip
I have seen @CarsandCameras use CVT transmissions on their small predator motors with their carts, I wonder if something like that could be effective or if it would add unnecessary cost or weight. I am interested in your wheels on your carts and want to look and see if you have made a video about your cart, I wonder if wider wheels might help keep on the track when there are problems with the rails distance.@@archiemoreno
Honda 400 cc., 2 cilindros,
2 carburadores, 4 tiempos,
43 HP de consumo economico
a 9.500 RPM, ( viajando a
3.500 RPM estaria
muy suave y sereno a 45 M/h
aproximadamente segun el tamaño
de las ruedas ).
Tiene potencia como para llevar
otro carrito con 4 personas
con sus bolsos, sin problemas
incluso en los ascensos.
( En ese caso, necesitaria de
2 circuitos de frenos de disco ).
Cuenta con una variacion
de 6 marchas hacia adelante,
refrigerado por aire, ademas
ya tienen incorporado
arranque electrico.
El alternador le recarga
la bateria, pudiendose
agregar luces obviamente,
y "no es pesado."
Hasta le diseñaria un tablero
instrumental con chapa
plegada, o fiberglas.
No resulta nada complicado,
solo dedicarle tiempo.
En el caso de las ruedas,
para evitar descarrilamientos
es muy correcto como has dicho,
con la superficie de apoyo
"mas ancha" seria ideal.
No se el tamaño exacto de
esas ruedas, pero podrian
hacerse con un trozo
de Caño para Gas
de Alta Presion de
"14 pulgadas, con buen
espesor, y muy resistentes.
Tambien le fabricaria
un trailer para llevarlo.
Respetuosos Saludos...!!
What a trip! After that poor Zorrito needs a grand overhaul and Archie a big cold cerveza 😅
😂😂😂😂😂 yes!!! Hahahaha 😅😅😅
Soy cubano ferroviario d pura sepa me gustan ésas aventuras.
Too bad you didn't get to Ajo. That area of Arizona is very interesting.
LOL
Great and beautiful adventure my dear friend Ruben, take care always.
Best regards.
Hi Archie, did you ever think of making the frame from a lighter material. I know aluminum is expensive. Just a thought. Great Videos Thank You 🙏
You rascals! 😅 This is such fun to watch. Awesome railcarts!
Super. 💙 T.E.N.
