So sorry to hear that you've been so poorly dear Ron, and I hope you make a full recovery from your appendectomy really soon. I think you're doing fantastically playing flute after such surgery when your tummy would be so sore and that would make breathing so painful too! I personally highly commend you, and thank you for this video. God bless you and get better soon. Xxx
I know you have better to do lol, but you should trying playing Maya by Ian Clarke on oboe because it’s such a nice duet😩 and seeing a flute reminded me of it🥰
I just don't have enough air for flute. Not enough resistance for me. I have a student that plays flute extremely well and also plays oboe really well. He's odd, he thinks oboe is easier than sax, lol
I'm a little disappointed that you basically already know the flute and played it for years. That's nothing like just picking it up for the first time. You didn't even have stuck key issues with your flute after such a long time away from it. I think you have a viable plan B instrument in case you and your oboe ever have a falling-out. A couple years after my oboe adventures officially ended, I bought a flute to mess around with, but I couldn't really get past how different the breathing was. I basically kept wishing it could be more oboe-like. Nowadays my EWI adventures are the closest thing to oboe-land, without the many hassles.

@@oboeari the pleasure is all mine!
I'd like to try the oboe some day. This or one of the many double reeded instruments of the past.
😊
I love it. You're so teachable and I love Terry's teaching!
You play that well only after 2 years in school and this many years later?? I'm jealous
Beautiful
I switched from flute to oboe and seeing this is very impressive
This is so good! Also: FAB SHIRT!
So fun to see this! Love it. When is Terry's oboe lesson?

Oboe drag! Also, pick up a random stranger on the street and teach them something about the oboe! (when it's safe to do so)
Oboeron on the street!!
