The main thing I took from Taxi's controversial ban was that Respawn's communication regarding what is a bannable exploit and what isn't was appalling. Probably still is.
personally i dont think you should be banned for exploiting unless it's something like DDOSing / closing a server, it's on the devs to patch it but at the end of the day it's their game
People like Taxi make dev jobs so easy by exploiting bugs he might as well become a dev doing their job for them for free

The ult dash was so funny this was not ope but respawn bann everything was funny must bann but the dash was 1 year after taxi2g was banned still in the game if the fix they game taxi2g could use the dash the dash was worst that push boated

Bro the ottr one was because when he mantled it jolted his aim upwards BECAUSE OF GAME PHYSICS. He most certainly isn’t Aimbotting since he has some of the most grind worthy badges in the game.
Edit -> He ended up moving to the finals since apex sucks for him.
The one with ottr. I heard that it was a bug or a glitch when he mantled. So I don't think he was cheating.

A few things you misrepresented about the taxi2g situation:
- He did not play on alt-accounts after streamers/EA had told him that the ban was justified. He did it immediately after getting banned cuz he thought it was a false-ban (at the time pretty common occurence in Apex). He stopped after 2 of his alts also got banned in a short time frame.
- His main argument as to why the ban wasn't justified was the total lack of communication by Respawn. The ult-dash exploit wasn't "commonly known" at the time. So it wasn't even clear if the tech was bannable or was gonna become a mainstream movement tech in the future. Respawn banned him before issuing a statement on the matter.
- Hal also admitted afterwards that the lack of communication by Respawn wasn't fair towards taxi2g
- Ult-dashing was an extremely niche and, honestly, uselesss "exploit". You weren't allowed to melee during a match if you wanted to use it and it was very inconsistent. Nothing about it was game-breaking or OP. It was honestly just some dumb bug, kinda like emote-bhopping used to be.

Way too many people sticking up for Taxi and just being 100% downright hypocritical.
Exploiting is 1 thing, but we all know very damn well that he went far beyond that. He was abusing the shit out of everything he came acrossed. Toosh even had to call him out on it when he was speed glitching with Caustic in ranked games, constantly. That is cheating no matter how you want to look at it.
I already got banned 3 times on my 4000 hours, 18 year old steam account from apex legends! LMAO...
All heirlooms, almost all prestige skins.
Only the first ban was reasonable since I used a "bad" word in arenas ranked text chat that out of context is a slur. Completely fine with me that was a 7 day ban.
Second one was a wild ride... Literally! Someone that lived nearby happend to be my random teammate in ranked and he made wild death threats and more via text chat and voice chat also reading out my adress and full name to the live stream and such while also making the wildest claims. I got pretty pissed for obvious reasons, wrote something in text chat and he reported me for it. I got banned a few days later.
That case also ended up with police, an arrest, and his account being removed by EA and him getting a valve ban on all valve titles. Fun time!
Third ban was literally me trashtalking a dude that was trashtalking our third random that literally did nothing wrong and he was like 15 years old or so...
EA support saved my dum dum many times and I think especially the second ban would have been perma if I had not provided all my chats with steam support on the topic and video evidence and such!
I also just got a duo banned from apex that were calling me the N word and said "i hope you un-A yourself" and so on. It was them for 10 minutes saying pure gold and making fun of me because in the beginning of my recording I asked them if they could repeat everything they just said and if its okay to record them! :D They said yes now they are banned! :D
Took about 3-4 days texting with EA support and waiting to get E-Mails back from the right person but it is always worth it.
I can handle a smooth trashtalk but there is a line. It is all fun until you cross the fine line from being a cocky dude to just someone that should never be able to play video games again because mental health is clearly not in the best place! :D

Bruh, Taxi2g didn't deserve the ban, every game has exploits and it's the devs jobs to determine whether to fix it or not. Banning is out of the question. Gunz The Duel is a perfect example of movement exploits/bugs turned into a successful game. Taxi was 100% in the right to exploit every part of the game to gain an advantage. People cry cause they were too lazy to learn or think of it as useful, which in reality didn't seem that useful at all.
That's straight up ignoring the rules of the game. You can't play Apex until you accept ToS, where stated, that using unintended exploits that may even not grant unfair advantage very bannable.
@daswan5783 I get Respawn gets a say in the rules, but it's completely hypocritical to allow tap strafing and other movement, and choose to ban him for caustic dash. If that rule exists is ToS Respawn are a bunch of pussies and need to work harder at fixing what they don't allow, rather than blaming the player for finding an exploit they should have found during play tests.

Isnt it still very suspicious how Ottr reacted? Like it seems very much as if he was using some sort of soft aimbot and just thought it was a bug with that aimbot, why else would he say to not clip that and has to suddenly tab out of the game? Like he definetly acted weird and not like he was trying to bait or something.
ottr just likes to joke around (a little too much) its hard to know when hes joking or not. In one of his finals vid, he joked about the valentines event and was acting like he was about to cry while also stuttering and gives a slight diss to the people with couples(even though he has a gf) basically trying to act sad and jealous in the beginning, said it was a joke on a stream later that week. Not that many people got it from what it looks like in the comments of that vid
tbf to to taxi though that was a pretty minor exploit. there are still hundreds of dashboarder from s3 not banned or no rank reset. hes simply was already a controversial streamer which is why he was banned. if any other famous streamer that was loved by the community did it i highly doubt they would be perm banned. its also pretty clear respawn just doesnt like him lol. im not defending him or anything and it was wrong but there was def some bias in that ban
I got a warning for typing fu that even got censored so the person didn’t even see what I was typing

The Ottr thing is funny. It looks super like an aimbot situation happened. But it didn't, and that's why he's legitimately so surprised and confused. He knew some weird bug happened that looked like it was an aimbot. Saying "don't clip that" makes him sound guilty af though. He just was confused, knew what it looked like, and so said that in his panicked state. Someone could also be confused and panicked because they accidentally turned their aimbot on, so I understand the suspicion. That is until he and others then demoed how that bug happens there every time in that situation.
Tournament admins in apex are unfortunately not qualified to judge cheating or not. Had an entire lobby spectate someone who was locking on to people across worlds edge where everyone had to basically lay on their monitor to try to see who he was locking on to and the response we all got from the admin was hes got really good game sense and isnt cheating cause trust....
Taxi should be perma banned
In my opinion Taxi should be paid by Respawn because he find so many exploits for them , but they are doing the oposite ...ban.

It was a while ago basically he was shooting at someone and when he vaulted his cursor was reset to chest level so he killed a guy and his teammate and it looked very sus

I was banned once in apex, still don't know why, the only thing I can think of is, that I tried to use cheat engine, but that ban happened after I quit the game, came back one day and saw that I was banned, so I made an appeal and like in a few days - a week later, I was unbanned again, haven't been banned since

An exploit is anything that was not intended by the devs. If you move while looting that is an exploit. I've always been 100% with taxi on that.
