PRO TIP: Heat the surface with a blow dryer immediately prior to applying the sticker. This helps the sticker stick better and if there are any air bubbles they will be smaller when it cools.

Just use the correct Foil: there are No Bubbles at all or put it wet on the surface.

I've just been struggling to understand why mountain bikers love stickers. Like i just have a huge sticker collection, and I don't even know why.
For me, stickers allow me to customize my things and make them uniquely mine. I wish I had a sticker collection, but literally every sticker I get I immediately stick somewhere.

Here is a top tip, what I just to do is design the sticker get the vector file and just hand it over to a local decal place. Not only does it save me the hassle of cutting the sticker out but it's also pretty cheap. I haven't bought a sticker from a website in years now haha

This was an awesome and entertaining tutorial! Also, you have to weed every sticker made? That little physical touch actually kind of makes them more special in my opinion!

I know it's a little late, but the answer is yes and no.
The way he does stickers means that you have to weed ever sticker individually, especially time consuming when it consists of different layers.
But the cheapest way of doing stickers, what big sticker companies do, or companies that sell stickers, is to actually print the design of sticker on a vinyl, so you only have to remove the outer part of the sticker, this takes WAY less effort since you can weed like 100 of stickers within 5 seconds.

@@natx4207 The software comes free with the machine and can run on a potato. There are also cheaper machines, cricut makes a few as well.
Yeah, that's why i make them with x-acto knife :/
And with that cutter you can also cut a heat transfer paper and apply to t-shirt

You can get a commercial grade plotter for $100 more. That will increase the cut width from 12 inches to 36 inches and speed up the cutspeed.

I would recommend signwarehouse for the supplies. Really you guys should use at least a 24in vinyl cutter for the amount of stickers your doing. Also you should get a weed tool, its much better than a exactoknife

This was the best how-to video on making stickers I’ve seen on YT (and I’ve seen many of them). It also helped me get over my fear of uncool for considering to buy something that scrapbooking moms have 👍🏼

Love the video! My grandma gave me her older cricut that cuts vinyl. I used it to completely debrand my bike and make it 100% custom. People always ask where I got my "OZ Trail Bike" lol. Its MY Oz Trail Bike!

Was trying to decide between a drop-shipper POD supplier or making my own stickers and this kinda settled it for me. The "weeding" process is WAY too time consuming for commercial volume.

Witam. 03:20 Nie pokazałeś momentu nakładania czarnej folii na ten napis / swoje logo. Przyklejasz to na zimno czy zgrzewasz jakimś urządzeniem ? Jak to później wygląda z wycinaniem ? Bo ta czarna folia została Ci na napisie. Czarna folia automatycznie zostanie na napisie czy odrywając ją trzeba coś wycinać ? Pytam bo nigdy tego nie robiłem. Efekt końcowy super. The cutter can do VERY intricate designs, dude. I used it to cut my wedding invitations. It took freaking forever but... it’s possible. The weeding can be a pain, but it is ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE.

These are decals made of vinyl and should last around 5 years on cars, bikes, boats outdoors.

Great video! How do they last in the sun? Is there a way to apply a clear vinyl ontop to prevent UV degradation?
Quality vinyl will have your decal last around 5 years.

Ha, I used to do this in college many years ago... the machine was a brother something or other and it was like $3,500 (CAD). I made so many decals, it was pretty fun. Thought about doing a business, but just sold a few to friends and moved on. Wish I would have bought one, but $3,500 is a steep cost to start.
I was supposed to learn how to make stickers at my technical school but Corona stopped that from happening😭
Have you guys used adobe illustrator? it works with vectors so what ever text and or clipart you make wont be pixelated and you get the stencil of it. I think correct me if I am wrong.

@@snaplash hes literally using a cameo decal cutter with DECAL VINYL. Also using VINYL TRANSFER TAPE. Look here on RUclips "how to make decals" search Ebay for any kind of decals. This is a video of a dude LITERALLY MAKING VINYL DECALS. Learn the difference before commenting.

They’re vinyl stickers. They have stickiness. Decals transfer by water and have no “stickiness”’.

Another tip for when you’re layering different colors, add small squares to all four corners of the cut. it will help you line everything up and make sure it looks good.

A very useful app for this as adobe capture, you can scan black and white designs as vector images and export them. Oh and it's free!
What kind of vinyl do you use for stickers? I am kind of new to this. I ve textile vinyl which I assume is not the same type of vinyl you use. Can you give me some info about vinyl please :)

What transfer paper do you recommend for preparing vinyl cut decals for end use? The Silhouette stuff doesn't seem to want to hold onto Oracal 651 very well. At least not the roll ive got. I just upgraded to a Graphtec CE7000 cutter/plotter and want to know what the pros use for applying vinyl cut decals. Thanks in advance!

@@edv_yan no not really, but I haven't really needed it either. there are quite a few cutter forums out there where that info could probably be found fairly easily. I just haven't looked yet.
Makes me miss my cricut. Also only clicked because I thought was a new cutting machine then just realized was a decorated cameo 😂
Pretty good tutorial. Two things though.
First.... These are NOT stickers. These are vinyl decals.
Second... For those looking for a cutter, the Cameo CAN definitely do fine details. I've done 3mm tall font without any cutting issues. Weeding the centers of letters is definitely time consuming, at that size, but the cuts and details are all there. I've also done intricate designs like mandalas and lace. My Cameo is constantly doing impressive work.
