I visited first week of May, comfortable during day time but kinda cold at night.

What airport did you land in going to Hokkaido? Do you also have hotel recommendations?
We landed in New Chitose Airport which is in Sapporo, and we stayed at Tmark City Hotel Sapporo Otori, it’s cheap and close to the tanyki street.

No we actually live in Japan, so just take a little trip to Hokkaido during holidays
