I see Luka winning a Finals MVP before he wins a regular season MVP. The NBA showed last season that they just don’t like Luka, which is lame. Fat boy Brian Windhorse had the nerve to body shame Luka, wow. I disagree with Issac’s take on Gafford completely. I do see Klay and Kyrie both only playing about 28 minutes because that bench of Dallas could make Toronto a 5th seed. PJ is going to surprise people with his efficiency this season. I got the Mavs winning 60+ games and the NBA doing something ridiculous like giving Ja Morant the MVP so they can create a bigger lying narrative off that.
I fear voters will vote Shai, Anthony Edwards, or Embiid and state: "Luka has two Champion Hall of famers whereas the others do not"🤨It's similar to the Tatum snub due to the Celtics dominance
The only reason Luka doesn't already have MULTIPLE MVP's is because he's had to carry a bottom-5 talented roster basically every season until last season's trade deadline. THJ had been the 3rd highest paid player & 3rd option, DP was a starting center, Bertans ended consecutive seasons as the 4th highest paid player on the team, and guys like Boban & Trey Burke were some of Luka's best supporting cast in the playoffs LOL. This is BY FAR the most talented & deepest Mavs roster Luka has had in his NBA career, and they are fixin to be the #1-2 seed in the West & Luka is winning MVP. Take it to the bank.
His rebounding should go down. We have bigs now. His scoring should go down. He has help now.His assists should skyrocket. He should win mvp regardless, cause he's that damn good.
RIDICULOUS FOR EITHER CENTER TO PLAY SIGNIFICANCE MIN OVER THE OTHER.... HONESTLY NO NEED TO DO THAT...KEEP THEM BOTH FRESH AT ALL TIMES

I have no idea why they try and discount Gafford? They act as though the team didn’t go from a play-in team to a 5th seed once Gafford became the starter? They come off as though Gafford didn’t help them(along with PJ) beat OKC by 47pts in OKC once the Mavs were healthy? It’s amazing how they’re going well out of their way to try and make Gafford out to be Powell when Gafford scored 33 straight field goals during the regular season and coming within 2 straight field goals of breaking Wilt Chamberlain’s consecutive field goals record, and Gafford was just getting his feet wet in Dallas? Lively didn’t do anything like that and probably never will because most players never do. They think Kidd is going to take a productive electrifying player like Lively who Luka wants on the Slovenian national team and make him into a 16/17 minute backup because Lively is going to all of a sudden be strong and able to run and jump like Gafford with all of his explosive athleticism, mind you just now about to enter his(Gafford’s) prime at the age of 26? The Mavs clearly don’t make it to the NBA Finals without Gafford and these two dudes are saying Lively who missed 27 games as a rookie is about to turn into David Robinson and relegate Gafford into a 16/17 per minute player who might be right there with Kleeber for minutes played? You see Nick and Issac are doing to Gafford exactly what NBA media is doing to Luka. They’re intentionally downplaying how good the guy is to create a lying narrative about him. I guess that’s there job. Gafford didn’t have a long time to understand the nuances of the Mavs offense and defense and he still was an electrifying player for them. Issac is a pastor and he still pushes the lie about Gafford.

* I meant Kidd take an electrifying player like Gafford.
yea but seeding being the determining factor is so lame. Last season that's what kept luka's triple double average from winning mvp, seeding was too low.
he basically just averaged a triple double being nothing but mere decimal points away. At this point i think it may simply never happen, mvp criteria changes every time he's close to it
Shai will win MVP this year on slightly better numbers than last year. If things go to plan, Luka’s numbers will be similar to last year with lower usage and the Mavs will be a higher seed. In retrospect this season’s MVP will be considered disrespectful towards Luka after the Mavs convincingly beat the Thunder in the playoffs again.
yeah the mavs got an old klay and improvements from lively okc got i hart. caruso, chet and j dub development? okc 2025 lookin much much more likely then dallas fosho

Luka could average 40pt tripple double be first seed and still wouldnt crack 10 MVP votes. I dont know if league gives voters instructions if they are all stupid and biased but its been clearly decided that Luka is not allowed to win.
I think the team would benefit more from him coming off the bench. If he can get back to what he was before the injury, he’s a bonafide 6th man of the year candidate.
He’s the best POA defender but i actually think naji will take that spot but i can see Quinton being like the 7-8 man coming on as the backup shooting guard

Why would Luka need a triple double when only 1 guy in history ever got the MVP after averaging a triple double? That doesn't even make sense. Luka averaged the only 34/9/10 in history last year and didn't get it. Meanwhile, Jokic wins MVP after MVP with lesser numbers. Its an unreasonable bar to put on Luka.
The commissioner of the NBA and ESPN disrespected Luka. If they do it again he doesn't get it. The reason Klay is here is to increase total points. Luka can be scoring champ.
I think Naji vs PJ might depend on how good they are both shooting, if PJ is back around 30 to 33 and Naji is at 38 to 42 i could easily see him starting to get starts over pj defensively i think they are similar at least potentially. I think that luka will be more efficient this year because of more attention on others he will have more room in the lane etc and he will get more quality shots with clay on the floor.
@@discreetman593 PJ shot 31% from three as a Mav🥲We can't win with him! He's our least skilled starter. He's so bad, Melvin Ajinça as is can replace him
naji has never taken as many 3s as pj, i think you'd see an even worse percentage if you put that burden on naji when he was only taking like 4 per game in new Orleans. Meanwhile pj was our 3rd, sometimes 2nd scorer against okc lmao.

Rebounds won't go down that much due to him being good at them and they are defensive rebounds. They went up last season after trade deadline.
I see scoring will go under 30 pts ( I believe around 28 - 30 ), but also assists should go up, maybe 12-13 per game
players know if they run and luka gets the rebound, he's gonna throw a perfect cross court pass to them.
