      Oh stop it. She's never gonna run for any office. She's just an activist that tells people how they're doing it wrong. She should show the government how its done if she has such great ideas. I bet she won't.

      @@TM-ht9qp I'm pretty sure she'll just do what the other "strong black community leaders" have done and just struggle to stay relevant. She'll pop up every 3 or 4 years to do interviews about how the black community needs to come together, how things are the same as they always were, how they need reparations, and she'll be collecting a nice check and wearing expensive clothes the whole time. Its all the same. Lets revisit in a few years to see how our comments have aged.

    Not only black people in the Usa need unity but they must have good education. Black NBA stars and other wealthy people have to help black kids to get better education. People will not invest on black communities because they have always thought that black lives do not count.

    We've been saying "we need to unify" forever. But what would unity even look like, since we have not seen it? Would it look like all of us doing the same thing? Most of use use the same slang, and adopt any new term that comes along. Most of us learn the new dance that comes along. Most of us watch the new TV show and movie that comes along. So is it simply most of us all, doing more important things as one? Have we actually ever made a serious effort to do so? This video message can be played 10 years from now and people would think it was recorded recently. We could change the date on it to 10 years ago and people would think the same. Mallory says too much focus is put on the victim, but is the truth really the other way around? Has too much focus been put on that which is unresponsive and that which, we are powerless to make responsive - recent events notwithstanding? Do we need to strengthen ourselves, in order to develop the power to make demands? Do we shortchange ourselves, when we take the attitude that we have little control over what we do and the choices we make? Many will defend racist criticisms of Black people by saying "the majority of our people are not like that - don't do that". And that is obviously true, but why is the question of why a small minority of us,has to behave in a manner so extremely different and anti-social to the rest of us? Is it a weakness in us that we let such a small minority have such a negative impact on our communities? We surely have been analyzing and appealing to the government side of the equation to no avail. Shouldn't we at least, by now, be willing to think outside of the box, for possible solutions? Shouldn't we reexamine, to see if there are more proactive self-affirming things that we can do, or do we continue with the same strategy we have been using, with little to no success? Of course we need to understand troubled individuals, but we can not view them with a built in bias. We can not view them in isolation. Is there in fact, a controlled study, in the immediate social environment and family, where often one sibling from the same family takes a different route in life, than the others? Until recently girls were less likely to turn to a life of crime and violence, where there brothers were more likely. We understood the impact of youth culture and the boys will be boys culture, but we did not implement cultural practices to counter it. The culture has since spread to females, consistent with the woman's right's movement, and again we have neglected to implement cultural practices to counter it. Self-esteem, attitude, mindset, are arguable the greatest determiners of how an individual will fare in life. We can impact these things with cultural practices and standards. The Jewish people have historically use these to compensate for their being oppressed and treated as a despised and outcast people. Is anything less required of us? Are these the kind of 'same things' we need to do, and how do we get that message to the overwhelming number of us? The latest pop/youth culture fad surely doesn't have a problem finding its way to the majority of us.

    While I like her, she is missing something..she is not creating a coalition, which is very important for movements.... There is power in numbers, she should reach to leaders of other communities of color, after all in this country if you ain't white you ain't right, sad she is not doing that, the only person I see constantly talking about the struggle of ALL people of color is Dr. West

    • @yasminerivera9151
      @yasminerivera9151 4 года назад

      @Linda Jackson I am.hispanic and I see your point, but you are generalizing, in my experience I've seen people of color helped each other as I've also seen white people helping, I have see it all
      And about Professor West, he has been front and Center with speaking up for communities of color; he have even gotten ARRESTED, Professor West have even been attacked while protesting to the point his felt his life was in danger, , just a few days ago he was at CNN and spoke truth on national television, look it up the interview is in you tube,
