For those who are wondering, with the G29 + Logitech Shifter, the clutch is fully functional, and the way it is utilized is brilliant. As best I can tell, the game lets you choose to use/not use the clutch on the fly without having to change any settings. What this means is you can ignore the clutch and just shift via the paddle shifters or the gear-shift WITHOUT any clutch input, and the game handles the clutch for you. However, if the game senses you using the clutch, it will punish you for missing your gear (you will get stuck out of gear and have to use the clutch to get back into gear). This is NOT car dependent.
You can go back and forth from paddle shifting (without touching the clutch) to full h-pattern shifting with clutch on the same lap of the same race, and the game just knows what you are doing and lets you do it. It's amazing.
When I first got started and couldn't find any setting adjustment for manual versus manual + clutch (like in Forza), I panicked a bit. I like to RP a bit, and change gear the way the car I am driving would actually change gear - paddle shifting with no clutch in modern race /super cars, but h-gate shifting with clutch on cars that actually have 3 pedals. Forza makes that tricky, as I have to constantly jump into settings and change back and forth from "manual" to "manual + clutch".

Good information, but I have one question, In GT Sport when you change a car gear ratio the clutch stops working, does this occur on GT7?

did you need to do heel and toe while downshifting with the H shifter?
You can buy a fully customizable manual transmission when upgrading your car and this activates the clutch when starting and shifting up and specifically down
The clutch does have an effect. If you don't hold the clutch and shift properly you will be stuck in neutral.
Pause the game while racing, R1 to scroll the menu into controller settings and you'll see the button configuration for all the wheels that are compatible (also G29/G920)
Will this fix that issye with the wheel on the ingame car not being the same as the wheel?

My G29 does not provide feedback when crossing the curb/kerb. Is it the same with your? Which feedback settings do you use?

The Shifter has 6 gears. (+reverse) but many cars in GT7 have 7 Gears. How that works together?

mine keeps reeving up, change gears (show on the dashboard) but does not engage the gear, looks like the cluch is allways pressed. I tried on GT SPORT only works in a Ferrari Dino and dogde viper ( change gears perfectly ) . can you help me ? what I am doing wrong ??

Clutch pedal DOES do something. You can use the H-Gate WITHOUT the clutch, but as soon as you step on the clutch, it seems to activate the clutch pedal and you will only be able to use the H-Gate with the clutch depressed afterwards (or you can still use the paddle shifters without the clutch). At least this is what I experienced, testing it out.
Just ordered my set and picked up gt7 I am so ready been contemplating getting a full race setup for a while and finally committed. Glad to know the clutch pedal does work.
Thats because the moment the Clutch pedal is pressed, the car goes into Neutral. You are then forced to use the stick shift to change gears directly otherwise if you use the paddle shifters, it will either go to 1st gear or Reverse. Very simple way of making it more forceful to use stick more properly
@@Stigmaru So say you depress the clutch, then release, without touching the shifter. It should go back to whatever gear it was in and you'd still be able to shift without the clutch as normal? Its not like, game detects clutch input, so for the remainder of the race, the clutch must be depressed when shifting?
I find there is little feedback from the road. E.g. you don’t feel kerbs that well. Is that the same for you guys?
Yes. But it's probably for the best, given how loud the G29/G923 is.

Be careful. If you end a race using manual gears - put it in neutral. If you don't, next time someone starts a race planing to use paddles theyll be in the gear you left it in. Starting a daily race in 6th gear is embarrassing.

I’m noticing the same thing too… the feedback from the wheel feels much less impactful than when i used it on GT Sport
Not sure if you figure it out but you have to turn off assitance and stearing assitance to gather the feedback and when you do the feedback is super strong way better than gt sports and other games

I have the g29 setup and I dont seem to be able to get the pedals to do anything? Shouldnt they be turned on by default? I checked them in ghub to make sure they were connected, and they are. Also the wheel tself works just fine i just cannot use the pedals out of the box. Any ideas?

Yes it works! You'll even have to modulate the clutch when launching from 0. It's pretty neat! However, I tend to find that there is a FFB deadzone for the first few degress of rotation. Maybe about a 5° amount. Wonder if there's a way to resolve this.

My G27 works great with my CronusMax+ adapter, it basically fools the system into thinking its a G29. Im running this setup on a PS4 Pro. I had the same experience where the PS4 Pro doesn't see it as a wheel but a controller, but everything works including gear shifter, etc

Same for me, both with the wheel and the controller. I'm playing on a PS4 rn since I can't get my hands on a PS5. I actually don't have any feeling of the car, I just fly off the track or spin out

It's because you have steering assist on, you must turn it off to feel the force feedback from what i have read in the comment here

I'm using the g29 right now for gt 7. My only complaint is the brake pedal. Feels a little weird but I'm getting used to it. The wheel feels great though and is very responsive.

That really depends on the game. If it happens with a controller then it will happen with the wheel.

Are you sure the clutch doesn't work at all? So you can shift with h pattern without clutch?
It didn't make any difference using the clutch like it did nothing
It does work on older stock cars, if you tune those old cars with racing parts then you can shift without using the clutch.

Not sure why this is the case for you. It shows the G29 in mine and I can adjust mapping for it and all. Clutch also works and allows faster shifting when using a car with a clutch and H shifter. Paddle shift cars obviously the clutch is pointless

I just bought the G90 plus a rig to hard mount the pedals and wheel. Just got it built last night... No matter how you configure it, I used the website to adjust everything, and I tried every combo, and then would do the same on the game. I sit down to play and go and start driving, the damn wheel basically turns back on its own, so if you just move it slightly to the left to pass a car it's fine, but once you try moving back to the right, it shoots you into a wall. I guess I'm just not a steering wheel guy 🤷♂️

Clutch doesnt work with paddles but does with the shifter if you wanna stop using the clutch when activated just press the paddle

Does anyone find that there is about a 5° ffb deadzone from dead center? Not sure how to resolve this, as I've felt that this deadzome was less perceivable playing on PC.

Clutch works 100% for me. Car stays in neutral in game and doesn’t let you get in gear if you don’t press the clutch. Also can’t get off on first gear unless you roll off the clutch while adding gas

The clutch works for me. But i would be really interested to know if you have force feedback when going over kerbs? IF you go over a hard shoulder on GT6 you would get rumble through the wheel. I dont get this at all on GT7 on the PS5. I do get some feedback although its somewhat inconsistent.
Have heard many saying this, will prob get fixed in an update soon we'll hope.
