Goodness you wake up looking like that?? 😍😂😂 wish I was that blessed. Wow being at that park sign was so Erie… it looked like you were the ONLY one there. Fog, rain and a massive forest 🌳 hope you enjoyed it!
I’m going back and catching up on some of your videos. You seem to always make good decisions when faced with some adversity. I love that. Turning around, to me was good decision. Was sad to see you nervous but that’s your natural instincts. Happy to see you follow your gut and stay safe. Happy Trails Julia. 👍🏻✌🏻 Oh, and you clean up really well lol…. JK you have amazing natural beauty as well 😊
It’s great you’re venturing out into the wilderness on your own, I know how exciting that can be, I’ve been doing it for over 50 years. You might consider carrying bear spray and practice using it, it works great on bears/ people and it will give you added confidence. I’m guessing the loud noise in the forest was either a falling tree/rock, a deer or a bear, (both of which are more afraid of you than you are of them). Of course it could’ve been someone camping dropping a tree, could have been a trailer falling off its cinder blocks.I agree go with your gut feeling especially when you’re hiking alone, best to you, Fairwinds.
Always trust your gut! As a Canadian the speeds on US roads always freaks ne out. We are always the slowest vehicle on the road. Cracker Barrel is our favorite place to stop for the night. Food is good and we always have leftovers for the next days lunch. Gatlinburg was crazy the time we were there in March. Happy belated Thanksgiving!
I was contemplating getting the Thinsulate clothing line from lands end. Its good to know the layers work. Yes its going to be below freezing tonight all over NC. I have to dump out my bird baths so they dont get messed up Your doing the hike Ive been wanting to do. Thanks for the heads up on how sketchy parts of the trail is. The mtns here in NC aint no joke. I was on one last week. Very windy. Safe travels my dear. Cracker barrels always a good choice here for over night's. Truck stops are to.
I'd definitely recommend getting it! I even wear it on a day-to-day basis, not just when I'm hiking or sleeping. I wish I knew about them back when I had to get through the winters in the northeast, haha.
I suspect your apprehension about the mystery noises in the mist were due to the complete lack of a view and the fact that the sounds are omnidirectional. It's a shame the weather wasn't always in your favour but at least you got one day with epic views over the mountains. That traffic jam was I assume made worse by the Thanksgiving weekend.
Yes! I forgot to mention that while filming but I think the limited visibility contributed to the nerves. That, and the fact that I was the only one on the trail.
They love it! And they watch all of my videos, haha. I've had a lot of inspirations for living a more nomadic lifestyle & my parents are one of them. They've traveled a bunch on their own and after they retire, they want to travel around North America in an RV :)
@julia_dutra oooh wow so you get your nomadic style from them? That's pretty awesome! You seem like you're enjoying every minute of being able to travel wherever you want haha. Honestly after I get out of the army I may attempt that lifestyle for a while 😅

I think you heard Bigfoot. Good thing you turned aroun. :)
Beautiful views
Gatlinburg Tennessee is amazing but crowded.. nonetheless, it was an experience I will never forget! I would tell anyone to go at least once 😊
Hey! Used to be a minivan nomad myself. Pigeon Forge reminds me of the Vegas strip. NUTS!! Fun watching your journeys. Be safe.
Another thumbs up video 👍
Thanks!
Cool

Haha, I'm definitely the slowest too! Always pulling over to let the faster drivers go ahead of me. Happy belated Thanksgiving!
