cheto50 what the heck r u talking about? My family lives in the “interior” and there are lots of crimes nowadays! We have to thank the FA, for that. Just the neighborhood i grew up, which is a few blocks away from downtown area... in the last few months there were robberies (a couple of weeks ago they got into a house in the middle of the night when everyone where sleeping), shootings, and violence of all sorts! No vendan el obelisco! Por culpa de la basofia de código penal hoy Uruguay esta lleno de criminales en todo el país! Lamentable!

Uruguay tiene hoy 4.000.000 de habitantes...1.500.000 en la ciudad de Montevideo y 2.650.000 en el Gran Montevideo! EXCELENTE video...me ha encantado y adoro Francia!!!🙏🙌😍
Well, someone stoled my watch in the first day in Montevideo. And I was in Paraguay and Argentina as well, and it was very quiet, no thefts. So you can judge how dangerous it is
Nice video. The safety situation is worse than it used to be, so people are paranoid. In the outskirts of the city is actually quite worrying. Still, the city is nowhere near as dangerous as most people think it is, specially in the urban areas.
Uruguay, Argentina and Chilee are the more developed countries in the continent, so they are the safest by a distance. Probably Uruguay is the safest spot in Latin America, and the small population has to do. Buenos Aires is a 15 million people city and its not more unsafe than any city of the US (but is a lot more dangerous than an average city in Europe, probably because you dont have such a big city in Europe). The thing with insecurity is that is totally disociated with reality, I mean there is a truly base on reality, that the problem has been increasing in the last 30 years, but the perception of the citizens, at least in Argentina and Uruguay is that is the end of the world and you cant even go to the supermarket. And thats because of the media, and the right wing speeches that have been contaminated us for soooooo many years, like the one you have been told, that get people afraid of people, that get people to not trust in anyone... i have studied the issue, and is a political strategy, furthermore, a geopoliical strategy, to divide to conquer. It not used to be like this, its true that we are living more violent times than 30 years ago, but thats all over the world.
I agree with everything u said but the part where u say RIGHT WING speeches YOU HAVE THAT 100%WRONG!!!!!! ITS MORE like the left wing liberals who run and control most of the main news media and are the ones WHO make ppl afraid of this or that and always race baiting and everything else , as well as false accusations about ppl and countries and more ...They have been for decades de crying all this non sense all around the world thats just a documented fact!!
Remember that almost all of mainstream media is LEFTWING run and even increasing as FAR left. So it is hilarious to hear people talking about "right wing evil messages in the media". The fact that you hear people pointing fingers at the right wing only shows that the left wing or far left, have been successful - successful as in their agenda, false facts and dictating.
@@MrCarmel7 the media in Latam is and always has been controlled by the right. Always. The most powerful people, the one that have THAT power, could never be a true lefty, since the left claims for equality.
@@alexandermacleod7810 Argentina do not have issues with insecurity as the other countries. Buenos Aires certainly is not more insecure than any big american city. Americans do have a huge tradition of being armed that not occur in BsAs, for instance. Bs As socio economic indicators are the same as Belgium. Check the HDI, look at some stats, compare. The predominant crime in Buenos Aires is the petty crime, some people robbing your cell phone in the subway without you realising it. Being robbed at gun point is rare. Insecurity here is more of a non violent issue. There are not so many armed people. Buenos Aires is not Brazil. Same Montevideo. They are not violent cities. They are A LOT less violent than LA or NYC. As a sociologist, I will tell you, the main cause of violence, always is inequality, and as long as they are inequal, they are not more inequal than the US, for example, and of course not compared to the rest of Latam which is a huge problem and thier indexes in this regard are way too much higher.
Hi guys. What a lovely couple you make! I'm glad you're enjoying the city. I hope I don't jinx it by saying this I wish all the best to you and your loved ones if they decide to visit as well.
You mean in other countries people dont have bars on their windows? haha I dont know if I could sleep without a solid piece of iron between me and the street, here bars are not so much a concern about safety but common sense, and it is cost effective.
