When i was a lad in the early 1980's😂my neighbour had a white P6 and after every winter he would remove all the wings clean them and then repaint them. That was a dedicated owner back then, great video Alex, your dedication always remind of better times for me.
You're doing very well, I don't mind you showing grinding etc it's what people need to see if they are going to try and repair something themselves, not everyone has a clue what it takes to do this on the floor when you are battling issues on an old car and learning as you go. I applaud you for giving it a go and the progress you are making considering a while ago you couldn't weld shit. I know how you feel as I like you bought several welders and stuck at it until I got welds that seem good enough to me and which have passed the test. I know proper welders will bitch about it but they do it for money, we do it to fix our car's and stop them turning to dust.
Very impressed Alex, one of my biggest regrets was not learning to weld, too old now and my back won't allow such work at low levels, so nice to see a "young" person doing what I should have done 30 years ago, lol, its one reason I built a plastic car 16 years ago, no rust what so ever, although the chassis could do with a re-paint by someone else now - not me.... Great work as I said and look foward to the next one.
Very nice job Alex! You're one of the hardest working person I know (besides Simone), keeping your fleet in good running condition. I hope you had a very Happy birthday! 🎉
The welding is coming on nicely : ) When u said the gap was too big to weld what u could try is clamping a piece of brass or copper sheet behind the weld as a backing piece and slowly build up the weld and fill the gap. Also have a container of water and a sponge handy so you can cool down the metal if required and use it on small fires (when paint or undereal gets a bit hot ) You're doing really well hope you keep it up : )
Hi Alex, watched your latest video, weld done...(see what I did there...😁) Seriously though, your welding skills go from strength to strength. You truly are amazing! Belated happy birthday wishes by the way, x
You can be rightly proud of that work Alex. Nice job. I'll look forward to seeing you out in Mr J some day. Is that hand-held grinding tool actually a Dremel or a different brand? I had one but the motor and bearing gave up.. I've got a replacement motor from China but not fitted it back in yet.

Well done, you are right to be proud of what you have achieved and your confidence is clearly growing.
Another really interesting and informative video. Thanks Alex for sharing!

Happy belated 29th birthday Alex 😁 🎂
😆
You should be very proud. It looks great!
Nice work. You're lucky actually. That whole area on mine is gone, nothing there.
Good job 😊

Wow Alex I am so impressed with your welding. Absolutely brilliant. Can you get inside that area to give it a lick of paint?
Yeah just about 😅 x
While you have the wing off, you can wire brush the suspension components and give them a coat of your purple Hammerite.
I'm all out of purple 😔
Must be so hard limited space to work and unusual suspension like looking upside down
👍👍👍
Great work Alex. Where does the dust come from and land all over vehicles in a closed garage? Without grinding metal etc. My garage included.
Unpainted Concrete foor..... exposed beams.... poor seals around garage door. That's not including the dead skin from us humans
