Very nice and satisfying video! Do you reckon mastering a short map like one of these is better practice than doing a longer map? Shorter maps do make me usually focus more on getting perfect movement but longer maps make me better at consistency I feel like. What do you think?
Short maps are definitely improving your movement and makes you not fail at easy jumps - that's why on long runs like parkour pyramid i don't tend to fail basic jumps. I've been doing purely short maps since 2016 to 2021 so I benefit from it the most, though, I noticed that after 6 months of regular playing hielke maps my consistency in short maps improved tremendously - for example practicing kz81 took me only 2 hours, but 1 year ago (march 2021) when i was tryharding it too, i spent 3 days and maybe 12h in total to do 40.300 time. Within that year I wasn't playing that much of short maps but rather focused on longer ones made by Hielke. Another ridiculous example is Impossible 180 Mix which 2 years ago (may 2020, "Hard & Extreme Maps" video) took me 3-4 days and about 10 hours of skilling to make 29.700 time, but now it took me only 15 minutes to do 27.499 So I wouldn't say short maps are better or worse than longer maps, because most of my time i spent on short maps so I can't evaluate it objectively. Also, they are improving a little different things - as you said - longer maps, from my experience, overall consistency and shorter ones your movement. I think your conclusions are pretty similar to mine and I guess mixing longer maps with shorter maps might get the best results
