Hi buddy love ur guide it’s been really helpful but just want to let u know and I accidental discovered this while fighting the monk but u can also get a death blow at the 1 part of the fight... this can be done but u have to be quick... rope to the back tree and lock on and jump down n u will get a death blow... but u need to do it fast once he turns around it’s gone.. then I really just need to tackle the 3 part

1:40 Rope-Bro is known as a shinmenwa. Ropes, in the Shinto tradition, are seen as barriers between the divine and material worlds. So it would be appropriate for a giant made of rope to ferry you off to the divine realm, as it were.

It's probably too late to be helpful for most people but if your having trouble with the two red eyes in ashina dungeon, just walk up on the land just enough to not be seen by them, pop a gechiin sugar, and you can crouch behind the guy on the right and deathblow him then it's just you and the main guy one on one. Makes it more manageable. Never underestimate the power of Gachiin sugar
Both of them can be stealth killed by the Gachiin Sugar method. First kill the left guy, then slowly creep up to the guy on the right.
You don't even have to fight both at the same time. For me not sure how but first time only the guy with sword was there and the white surgeon didn't go crazy yet so I was able to fight both separately
Use gachiin sugar and puppeteer the white guy, backstab the other guy when both are fighting
I'm fairly certain if you check the area before speaking with doctor KKK after samurai bro disappears just samurai bro will be there. Go speak with doctor kkk after you beat samurai bro then afterwards he will appear there. I did this awhile ago though so I can't remember the exact steps

It is a part of the Shinto-Religion.
All I know is he is made from Shimenawa, a type of straw and hemp bundle used at religious buildings for the shinto religion, believed to be sacred. So from this I assume they used this Shimenawa Man to show how divine and sacred the area is? No clue how he ties into the game, no irl mentions of this big fucker for obvious reasons.

If you want a really fun time with the Red eyes at the end of the video, pop one of the stealth sugars when you're at their little area, just come up near the docks, and then sneak up behind the samurai guy and pupeteer him, its a great show of which one is better in a fight

The twining of thick ropes in Japanese Shinto culture is called Shimenawa. Something about ritual purification and the warding of evil spirits. As for the giant monster's big ol' log dong... couldn't tell ya.

Prolly a bit late on this one, but the "Longnecks" are not actually nobles, But the Okami Warrior Women that are in the description of Sabimaru. Hence the reason you can poison them with Sabimaru, but not many other enemies. Another couple of the people able to be poisoned by Sabimaru would be the Snake-eyes bosses in Sunken Valley, as these two are possibly descendants of the Okami.

I found the umbrella to be awesome against the red-eye guys. For some reason they even took a bunch of damage when I held it out and parried them. I used the fire version of the umbrella. Idk if that makes a difference. They were actually cowering and acting scared when I held out the umbrella, and I could strike them afterwards. I don't know why they're scared of it, but it made the fight reasonably easy.

Love how cowboy had trouble with the red eyes (I didn’t) and had no trouble with owl father (It took me 3 days). I love how everyone’s experience with this game is different
Bro for real though I was stuck on the guardian ape for like four nights after work, owl was bit difficult for me but was fun imo got him like the 3rd try on a fresh day off, the monk was a bitch imo not difficult just annoying took me like 6 try’s
- Pop a Gochiin's Spirit Fall or Gachiins Sugar before getting in the water
- Hop up this wall 26:39 (which is complete pain in the ass)
- Crouch and stick as close as possible to the wall and stealth kill sword guy
- Crouch walk up behind monk guy and stealth kill him

corrupted monks you can plunge attack her twice, first and second phase, first phase you go as fast as possible on the tree behind her wait for her to do her animation and BOOM, second phase that's just after your first plunge attack, she'll be "invisible" and shadows will attack you but she's still there and you can jump attack her and BOOM third phase less than a minute gg wp

I know it's already been pointed out, but you can kill the red eye guys individually. They appear at different times on the island. If you check the island periodically (during their quest), eventually the first one will be there alone. You can kill him in a 1v1 and then come back later and the second guy is there (also 1v1 obviously).
I just ove the amount of options FromSoft gives you in this and their prior titles. I beat the corrupted Monk without even knowing that the second phase could be entirely skipped by stealth killing.
Same for me. But i noticed in phase 2 if you bounce the threes you can dodge the shadow's attacks. At least i had this to work with.

It is definitely possible to stealth both of the red eyes in the end of the video.
Approach slowly from the right with a gachiin sugar and kill the monk. Reset the encounter. Then do the same from the left for sword boy.
It's tough because even with the sugar he will catch you if you don't stick to the wall and move slow, but it does work
this is a playthrough that id just put on and just watch when im not playing randomly soothing the commentary is phenomenal lol. But you also helped me thru a lot of my current playthrough specifically with bosses but now this place is almost too much with not knowing what's aroundnthe corner and getting your soul sucked
Just a quick note on when you returned back to the abandoned dungeon to kill the two transformed characters. When you first send a character to that guy to be experimented on and after you go through all the dialogue and rest again if you go to that spot, the one guy will be there and you can sneak up and death blow him and the same goes for later when the doctor character who had you doing the quests is transformed also. Besides that your walkthroughs have been a lot of help👍
Hey Cowboy, love this guide. I know I'm late to the party but I've watched all the way from part 1 up until now. You may already have figured this out but you don't need to fight Dojun and Jinzaemon at the same time. If you go to the area where you fight them when Dojun is still in the cell talking to himself you'll find red-eyed Jinzaemon by himself and thus he's much easier to kill. After that you can rest at the idol then you'lll find red-eyed Dojun all alone. He's definitely the stronger of the two as it felt like he had a large posture gauge and decent recovery. You get the two different types of red lumps so there's really no reason not to seperate them unless you wanted to challenge yourself by fighting both at the same time.Hopefully this helps anyone who was dreading fighting these two at once.
I used a Gachiin sugar when I was at the edge of the water and I was able to backstab deathblow Red eyed Dojun. It made the fight against his master A LOT easier, those guys take out half your health bar in 1 hit
Damn, this game is really beautiful especially that late game area is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the music and the nobles playing the flute.

Hi guys, thanks for the playthrough ^^ a small tip here for the two red eyes guy, you can stealth kill them. Pop a Gachin sugar before entering the water, then go and climb their arena by the side from the water, go stealthily by the left to first kill sword guy, then go for the monk. :)

Now, I haven't read all of the other posts, but I need to point something out:
Long Spark is, by far, way better than any of the Flame Vents. You can use it a total of ten times to the vent's six, and it absolutely shuts down the third phase.
That with Ash does the trick!
You can kill the samurai red eyes before finishing the dialog with the surgeon, when the samurai disappears from the room he is already there ready to fight, easier to kill them one by one them to activate both at the same time
Use eh fire shield when you fight them as a parry and it spurts a flame effect to make them cower in fear red eyes hate fire and yes kiill them one at a time after they disappear from the cage it doesnt increase the xp gains to fight them at the same time.
Corrupted second phase activates instantly after 1st now it seems. In any case, 1 and 2 are simple (2 jump around when the spell works until back to normal) and generally very easy, wait for the jump attach (keep the distance for it) block and double ichi each time goes like a knife through butter. for phase 3 ( use tanto before fight / heal to get extra emblems) once 2 is down, use damage resist sugar and purple guard to be safe and switch to sparkling axe, then as soon as she is back up, spam the spin and you kill it with no issues. You basically spin through the end of it and dead, that is it. Anyway, great vids very helpful, great work!

The Corrupted Monk is such a strange reset after fighting all of the faster people like Emma, Isshin, Masanaga, and Owl, that I actually find it quite difficult! The timings definitely threw me off a few times.

you can in fact use a stealth sugar and sneak up to the white one to make him a puppet for a reverse 2 on 1 fight
keep attacking the other one while re-puppet the white one every like 10 seconds or so for a easy win.
The Double Ichimongi in the back at phase 3 : WHY THE HELL DID I NOT THINK OF IT FFS xD Now I've beaten her, but with such pains I would have avoided so easily . Kudos on the creativity mate, will be helpful for others.

the two guys in the underground you can kill them easly ,, take gachiins sugar and swim fast to them and then climb the platform on your left move slowly jump behnd the guy with the sword dont worry if you made noise or broke vases he wont lisyen ..stealth kill him and the other one wont even notice do the same to him :))

I have an unlimited supply of gachiin sugar so I have been using them on everyone but this works perfectly
THis would be even easier than how i did it the suzaku's flaming shield has a fire effect that makes them cower when you use it so you can beat the stuffing out of them and parry with the fire shield to cause them to be afraid but stealth is easier than fighting.

@@MarwanAyman-ge7xh I'm not sure where and how he farm. Or maybe you can just use Gachin spiritfall. 4 or 5 spirit emblem (don't remember the exact value) needed per use.
If you don't have it yet, you need to kill headless in the Mibu village. That headless will drop Gachin spiritfall.
I like the firecraker in phase 3 more. works wonder
You can fight Jinzaemon and that monk one by one though, the first time Dousaku started experimenting on his student, Jinzaemon already there waiting for you, and after you kill him, you can go for the monk.

i am doing refresh to see how many people will watch. at first min it was 35 after 3 sac it was 66 and after 3 mooe sec it was 73 it's seemes that i am not the only one who is waiting like crazy for this to come up
If anyone is still struggling with the two red eyes you can pop a gachiin at the bonfire then swim to the left and climb up then sneak behind them and backstab them. If you backstab the guy with the sword the other guy still wont move so you can backstab them both without even having to fight
Flame vent +living force works great on the two red eyes
I got lucky with the red eye duo. Sword guy jumped and fell into water and died and I just had to fight the momk
I stealth kill for those two red eyes, using sugar, coming to the left ledge and sneak behind them, easy

You can fight the guys in the dungeon one on one, you just have to keep checking for the first one to show up in between conversations with dogun’s disciple.
This corrupted monk was WAY harder than the apparition one in Miku. I died at least 5 times against her here and zero on the apparition one. Like her third phase is so aggressive and sporadic, it was so hard to tell if it was a sweeping attack or stabbing, as the window of opportunity was so small for me to react accordingly in time. Jesus christ that was awful.
Her 3rd phase is actually the easiest. If you firecracker her, hit her 3 times, firecracker, hit her 3 times, and repeat, she'll stay stunned the whole time until you run out of firecrackers. Then you just have to hit L1 over and over to deflect her strikes just a couple times or maybe land just a couple of good hits on her to break her posture and finish her off.

1st tried her, she was so easy
For the Two red eye guys at the end of this video their is a very easy strategy to do here. First, before jumping into the water to swim towards them, use a Gachin sugar. The sugar that makes you hard to detect. Now swim towards them favoring the left side. You know that part on the left side cowboy had a hard time double jumping onto to grab that ledge? You're gonna wanna get on top of there. A easier way to jump onto their is to double jump on the platform next to that wall climb THEN double onto the wall climb since you now have solid ground. Once on top you will notice that the two red eyes bros dont even notice you AT ALL. you can crouch and slightly favor the left wall crouching towards the guy in the left and get a death blow off. U do not need to be directly behind that guy to death blow him. Also crouch very slowly when u get close to him that way the death blow icon can appear for you. U can even puppeteer him to help you fight the other guy. If u mess this up feel free to reset OR just ignore the first guy attacking you and go death blow the other guy because the other guy still doesnt move and just stands their oblivious a fight is going on because the awesome Gachin sugar is so effective. Puppeteer that guy instead and take out the sword guy u messed up on. Crazy good strategy making this fight super easy. Go ahead and make your sword enflamed to make the fight even quicker. If you do decide to reset tho I believe you can death blow both them but I am not sure as I settled for puppeteering the first guy.
This works great in 2022! Just went to the left, jumped on the rocks, and went behind the one with the sword. They dont notice you at all.
I have 65 hours played almost done with the game but I am so in love with the combat and now fighting people with lightning i love throwing it back.
WRT the rope/cord man: I’ve long suspected that in most of the Fromsoft games the journey/pilgrimage is meant to be movement along the chakras/representing a kundalini awakening. In most of these games the highest point vertically is divine (crown) and the lowest point is something usually associated with root chakra concerns: life/death fundamental security type shit. I think rope guy is representing kundalini activation taking Wolf from the root all the way up to the crown chakra. I’m probably reaching who knows. Anyways I’ve found your videos have really helped me get gud enough to first try a few bosses. Thanks!

You can choose to follow Kura or Follow the Iron Code after you* beat Genichiro, thus being the first split for multiple endings. Agree with Owl and you will fight him as the last boss, or side with Kuro (good ending) to fight that lil bitch right then and there.

S550Marcus Gachin's sugar will help greatly with the first phase stealth kill
You can stealth approach those two red eyes you fought at the end of video. After some testing I did it fairly easy with the invisibility candy. I was able to stealth kill the one on the left with the sword and then I just fought the unarmed one. But if you went back in the water, lost agro, and popped another candy you could probably stealth kill both
Pro tip: Just use Gachiin's and then sneak up on Jinzaemon and deathblow. Doujun can then be snuck up on and there is a tiny window for a deathblow (assuming you have some Gachiin's timer left)
Pro tip: you can take off 2 of his health bars in the beginning with stealth attacks.
Jesse Bailey use the stealth candy bar and grapple up to the right tree then go to the end of the left tree. Using stealth candy will guarantee a death blow and after you’re done with the first blow go back to the same tree you jumped from and find the main monk and death blow again.
@Jesse Bailey literally done it first try there, you dont need steslth candy either, just grapple all the way across from the first tree to the back one, deathblow, grapple straight back to the back tree, deathblow. Shove divine confetti on too fpr the last phase hes real weak to that. Plus he flinches for several seconds from fire crackers and i believe fostful lf ash but would need tp confirm that.
Yhink its been nerfed. Cannot get 1st deathblow at all! This fight is really testing me!

For red eyes use Gachiins sugar before the fight. Puppeteer the monk and use fire on the other one while they fight..
Tip: With the Red Eyes pop a Gachiin's sugar before you start swimming to the bit of land they are on. Then creep up to the Red Eyes on the right and stealth kill him. Now you only have one red eyes to fight one on one (even if you die and respawn).

“One of the easier fights” even with the phase 2 skip, this is the only boss I’ve died to 15 plus times so far (owl the second time not included). Idk what I’m doing wrong but I can’t seem to beat him at all. Even guardian ape was more manageable than this boss.
I totally agree with that. The monk gave me so much trouble. I didn't know about the stealth death blow you can use to skip phase 2 so I fought her through all 3 phases. I think what's challenging is that it feels like a battle of attrition. If you screw up you have to heal up since she hits hard and I found that I had a hard time reading her telegraphs for the perilous attacks. I'm not great at the game and have slow reflexes so it's sometimes hard for me to discern whether I nee to Mikiri or jump and by phase 3 she has a 3rd perilous that inflicts fear and if you get stun locked in that spray you're insta-killed. It's a tough fight. I honestly found her to be more difficult than Owl (The Father).

@@emanq23 Finished the game the other day. You can get another prayer bead necklace and two boss memories and return to the owl last if you want just don't interact with kuro.

you can also oneshot the first phase of the monk, just grapple around the side. I was so surprised after i basically got the first 2/3 for free because i thought that this fight was going to be really hard.

@@rexamouth4679 I got it too actually, it was tough but if you get the tree on in front of the temp enterance AND you do it while your doing the DB animation, then unlock and target the branch. You can get up there in time before the shadows jump you.
Yeah I got it a few times its difficult to time though
Tip for the two at the end: you can sneak strike and puppeteer the one in white robes with a gachin sugar and have have them fight each other. Mortal draw also destroys the general

Hi, your guide is just great and helps me a lot. One little comment is that you don’t have to fight 2 red eyes guys at a same time. The first time you sneak into the cell, interact with the long sword samurai and he just moans or grrrr or something. Just go out to talk to Dojun. After that, rest to reset the world, go back, you would see Dojun is still there but the samurai is missing. Don’t rest at that time, swim to the boat to fight the long sword red eyes alone. After resting, swimming to the boat again, you would fight Dojun alone.
I was stoked when I figured this out. Makes the fight, not a fight. Best way by far
The 2 red eyes in the "Underground Waterway." There is a tiny platform near the port that you can lure both of them to. Then just jump up and attack them as soon as they attack you can just stand there to avoid their attacks. Some attacks with the swordsman you still may have to block and depending on your timing the monk will throw shurikens but most of the time he cant hit you because his aim will be blocked by the port. It takes a little while but it's a cheap easier way to take them out

For the double boss fight at the end, just use gachiin sugar, swim up and grab the ledge on the far left side and you can sneak attack both of them.
Tip for the doujan or whatever. Rage dudes in the abandoned cave… put on your invisibility, swim over, jump up on the left and creep around against the wall behind sword dude and puppeteer him and he will murder the other for you, and when that’s done he dies on his own! And if you used Kotaro if you hit him with that spin-around-fan thing… he’ll die instantly

For those two red eye guys - you can use the stealth sugar to deathblow the sword guy, puppet then gg ez the last guy. Your approach will be from that ledge you can jump hang onto from the water. Just hug the wall and the sword guy won't detect you.

For the 2 red eye enemies, just use a Gachiin sugar and back stab one of them. They stay dead forever, so you can actually leave, come back, and use another sugar and kill both without fighting either if you want.
For corrupted monk, theres's actually a method/cheese to deathblow him twice right at the start of match by jumping on the branches and jumping on top of him
Lol. I like how most of this game is fairly straight forward reality-ish fantasy, and the out of nowhere comes Jack's Giant Beanstalk to grab us out of Aladin's tent to carry us off into the sky

Would like to just leave a tip to anyone who is struggling with the 2 guys in the abandoned dungeon. If you consume a Gachiin's Suger before you jump in the water to them and get a deathblow on the doctor and puppeteer him to help you fight the samurai. Really trivialised the fight
if youre having trouble with the two red eyes, get the skill that lights your sword on fire after flame vent, they'll flinch with every hit
for people having trouble with 2 guys in the cave. use gaijin spiritfall or sugar at the idol, swim quickly near the boat. now from boat go very slowly to the right and eventually near the back of monk, (they won't notice due to gaijin sugar/spiritfall) deathblow and puppeteer ninjitsu him, watch the ppv fight and then easily take down the sword guy.
One comment on this that I stumbled on regarding the Doujun quest. If you go to the dungeon chamber where they were doing the experiments and Doujun is by himself talking to his master and the "patient" is already gone, go to the waterway and he'll be there by himself with red eyes. You can then fight him 1v1 which is much more manageable. And then you can continue Doujun's dialogue until he disappears and then will be waiting for you then. 2x 1v1s rather than a 2v1 is much easier!

If you are having trouble with Doujun, you could use gaichin's sugar and use puppeteer on his friend, then it would be way easier to kill both.
