I believe dp is actually always in pain due to the legacy of his pre-existing condition… he feels new pain inflicted on him, but it’s more about the shock of it. A drop of pain in a big ole bucket of constant hurt. As someone with chronic pain, I get it.

Another aspect of the meta comedy, is that When Disney/Marvel bought 20th Century Fox, they were not thrilled about the idea of a third Deadpool, so much so, they made Reynolds do a PG13 Edit of Deadpool 2 to see if it could work, and although it was funny and worth a watch, the film felt super watered down, and it looked like we weren't going to get a Deadpool 3. In fact, rumor had it the only way Disney would be interested in keeping anything from the Fox Films alive, was if Jackman would comeback, and he already said he was never going to do it again. So Deadpool 3 came about because Hugh and Ryan are long time friends, and Ryan came up with a plot, and a good enough price tag that Jackman was interested in potentially coming back, and then Deadpool 3 was announced. I think Reynolds was working on this, for like 6-8 years, and the Disney buy out finally went through in the first quarter of the year after Deadpool 2 released.
Also the reason why Peter is loved in these movies. (IRL the unfortunate circumstances, with respect to the actor) but also why you don't see Peter Parker in the photo with Tony Stark during the happy hogan interview. In the comics Deadpool absolutely loves Peter Parker/spider Man! There's so many comics of them together. Soooooo, all Deadpool's love Peter! But since Sony owns Spider-Man. And Disney now owns Deadpool....

I would have liked to have seen a cameo by Dougray Scott as an alternative Wolverine. For anyone who doesn't know, Scott was originally cast as Wolverine in the first X-Men movie, but had to pull out after being injured while filming Mission Impossible 2. Hugh Jackman was brought in as his replacement.

I loved you whole reaction. This is the best movie of 2024 from afar. Seven years after James Mangold's Logan weren't enough for all the Wolverine's lovers (including me) who needed watch him alive and kicking again. Hugh Jackman's performance is truly funny, dramatic, epic, and the cameos (Blade, Elektra, Johnny...) level up the movie time and time again. Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova is a wonderful villain. Oh, and of course: movie for The Cavillrine! NOW!😂

I loved how it was a send off for so many characters, a love letter to the old pre-mcu marvel, a story of redemption and friendship, ALL of the cameos especially blade and Channing Tatum as a FANTASTIC gambit, etc etc...! I didn't expect to get the feels during the power of friendship scene and in that first post credit Fox era sendoff. And Johnny's reaction to Deadpool "quoting" him, is so hilarious with the post post credits context 😂

Love the switch to red hair and I noticed something you may have overlooked. During the 100 Deadpool fight scene, on the side of the bus was an ad for "Stan Lee" Steamer. Most people miss it because they are so distracted by the fighting. 😂

Another aspect of the meta comedy, is that When Disney/Marvel bought 20th Century Fox, they were not thrilled about the idea of a third Deadpool, so much so, they made Reynolds do a PG13 Edit of Deadpool 2 to see if it could work, and although it was funny and worth a watch, the film felt super watered down, and it looked like we weren't going to get a Deadpool 3. In fact, rumor had it the only way Disney would be interested in keeping anything from the Fox Films alive, was if Jackman would comeback, and he already said he was never going to do it again.
So Deadpool 3 came about because Hugh and Ryan are long time friends, and Ryan came up with a plot, and a good enough price tag that Jackman was interested in potentially coming back, and then Deadpool 3 was announced. I think Reynolds was working on this, for like 6-8 years, and the Disney buy out finally went through in the first quarter of the year after Deadpool 2 released.

What I like about the ending is the meta narrative. They could both survive because it was matter and anti-matter. Wolverine matters. Deadpool doesn't, aka anti-matter. Together they equal it out.
Deadpool was grabbing the "matter", and Woverine grabbed the anti-matter which exploded his clothes off of him (such a shame lol). This movie was saying that Deadpool DOES matter, despite what the clowns around him were saying.
Also, the scene Wade was shown with Thor? That was real. He was told twice in the movie that he's going to be part of the Avenger's storyline in an important way.
Honestly because of how famous Captain America is, everyone when watching this for the first time before seeing the after credit, they blame Deadpool for killing Johnny Storm but they forgot about the fact that this is Johnny Storm not Captain America so the "Language" doesn't apply on Johnny
Were you unaware that Disney "acquired" 20th Century Fox a few years ago? The references in this movie were a bit of an affirmation.
Side note: Logan and Wade can feel pain. They just heal fast. They both feel the injuries, but after enduring so much pain, some of it just isn't alarming anymore.
