Many years ago, I bought a coffee concentrate at a convention and it was so convenient! I was in college at the time, so I only had a mini fridge, and it was really nice to have a cold coffee option that didn't take up my whole fridge. :)
That gives me an idea! I go to conventions and, while taking my aero press setup and some ground coffee and a kettle, concentrate may be my new convention go-to :)
I kind of wish you'd try this as a cold coffee. Part of the convenience I think of these is how easy it is to make a cold coffee by just adding ice and water. Your drip coffee probably doesn't do cold coffee the same way.
Yes! I'd like to know if cold water and ice like your saying instead of the inconvenience of hot water and the fact that I would buy it as a space saving (and nice if cheaper and long lasting) substitute for the pantry cold brew coffee from Trader Joe's which is my stand by option.
I totally agree with you. If I was drinking hot coffee I’d likely use K-cups. But I’ve been a cold brewed Iced Coffee drinking long before it was a ‘thing’! I lived in the West Indies for years and and it was just too hot for hot coffee. Now I drink iced coffee 99% of the time and this coffee is great. I have tried Jot and Javy and while they are both good I must say I prefer the Javy. I’ve never taken the time to break down the cost per cup/glass and I’m happy to see based on this video that my preferred brand is the cheapest.
I can’t speak to the other companies, but JOT does a great job with sourcing their coffee and buying in an ethical way, so I give bonus points for that. :)
The "No hormones" is another scam used, since the FDA has outlawed the use of hormones in meat, saying your meat has no hormones is the equivalent to saying "contains no meth"
GREAT video! Very thorough, to the point, and great length (time). You went through 5 products and reviewed every aspect of each in almost 18 minutes. Other videos I've seen ONLY containing ONE single Javy recipe are on average 9 minutes in length. You are amazing!
I love javy but I also like a stronger flavor. That's why I use 3-4 tsps for my coffee. I definitely go through it faster but it's still very affordable and so quick and easy to make.
So happy you made this video, I’ve been super curious after constantly seeing Javy on TikTok and Instagram. But I think if I’d use any of these, I’d only be making iced drinks
I tried Cometeer after seeing it on your channel and have been loving their coffees. I hope they are able to branch out and include more options for the coffees that they offer.
Have you ever tested instant coffees like this, also? Like, the freeze-dried crystals or whatever. Would be interested in seeing which instant coffee is the best! Also, could you make a mock-espresso with an instant coffee?
Funny you bring this up, we have a local torréfactor if that is a word who makes biodegradable Nesspresso capsules and instant. I had instant Starbucks and it is much better than grocery store one. To be continued…
I'd love to see a showdown for instant coffees. I camp and backpack a lot and see all the coffee products at REI but they're pretty expensive to try all of them to see if they're any good
Thank you for this! I keep seeing Javy ads on TikTok and wondered if it’s any good. It might be decent, but I love a rich, strong flavor profile. It sounds like my coffee I make at home just can’t be replaced by that.
I do remember in the uk, that in the 90’s you could buy liquid coffee concentrate in this weird plastic bottle, where you squeezed different parts depending on if you want strength level 1-4. I can’t remember it’s name, but my parents loved it
I bought Cometeer Coffee. The FIRST order is 10% off so that is $1.50 for an 8oz coffee, yes. But thats only your first order. All your next orders are full price at $64 for 24 8oz coffees which makes them $2.70 a cup. I like to sip coffee through the morning so thats 16 ozs of coffee a day making it $5.41 a day. The problem with Cometeer is that unlike with the concentrated coffee you get a specific frozen container so you have to do 1 container or 2. You can't measure out more of less to taste.
Over the years I have come to acquire a taste for coffee, but not in a sense that I could point out all the different ingredients used, undertones, etc. With that said, I did happen to buy some Cometeer after viewing an add and doing a little research. I can honestly say that out of all the coffee I have tried over the past few years (since deciding I wanted coffee to be some part of my life, haha), Cometeer took me by surprise. I found myself making a cup most mornings and even looking forward to a morning cup of coffee to start my day. The flavors were not overpowering, but just right for what I enjoy. I will say that I have not tried a hot brew cup of Cometeer though, as I am not a fan of hot coffee, so my experience was strictly iced coffee.
I LOVE this review. And I don't even like coffee. So I'm going to try the Jot and Javy! Cheap and gets you the caffeine. Thank you for the well done job here. You rock!
I just tried the Jot Dark for the first time about an hour ago. It was…not my favorite. Flavor profile came across more as a medium roast for me. I might try it iced before I write it off altogether but it’s gonna be brewed coffee for me in the end!
I knew cometeer was gonna win. I got it on sale and was PLEASANTLY surprised. I normally end up not liking the coffee gimmicks on advertised Instagram.
All through summer, I keep a pot of cold brew on hand for iced coffee. When autumn arrives, regular hot coffee is my usual go-to, but we still have unseasonably warm days where iced is the more refreshing option. Rather than making a pot of cold brew that might not even be ready before the temperature dips again, I keep a jar of One By which works very well for a once-in-a-while iced coffee when summer makes a last hurrah
Why am I seeing this video so late hahaha I wanted to see you do a review of Javy and Jot, so this video makes me happy. Personally I really love Java House coffee pods. My mom bought the Javy and loves it. I enjoy iced coffee while she enjoys hot. I'm interested to see the difference in these 3 when you add in sugar and flavor syrup to it if you can still taste the coffee 🤔
When you pulled out another cup, I first assumed you were gonna try mixing them all together instead of using it for a regular coffee to compare to lol
i personally like to use these when i want to dd the flavor of coffee but not water, like when making ice cream, filling for croisants or chocolate spread
I like Javy but I do need to use more than they recommend to get the kind of flavor I like. I also use it use it mostly for cold which works pretty well.
the One By pricing really goes up if you add that extra half a serving tho... it goes from the initial $1.25/cup to $1.87/cup which changes it to being the highest of all the options shown and that price is only based upon the $21.24/bottle which is ONLY available as part of their subscription plan, otherwise its $24.99 : which makes their recommended serving per cup $1.47, or $2.20/cup with your extra half a tablespoon and is it really good enough coffee for over $2/cup???
All of these are just way too expensive compared to regular coffee in a drip machine. You can get roughly 20-25x 8oz cups of coffee out of a 12oz bag of coffee. You can still get really good coffee for under $15-20/12oz bag, which puts any cup of coffee well under a dollar. The convenience of the concentrates is just not enough to me when you consider both the added price and the (in my opinion) diminished flavor of the final product.
@@marcup1584 I'm not sure that's a fair comparison - this isn't really for the situation where you've got a grinder and brewer to hand, it's for work/hotel/travel where you might only have a kettle... so you're comparing it to maybe going out and buying a takeaway coffee, or instant.
I have only tried Javy. I completely agree that its in the weaker side but when i make it with 2 tsp its perfect. To be fair, my coffee portion definitely exceeds 8 oz
I wonder how these concentrates will work for iced coffee, do you do the same thing but with cold water and ice as opposed to hot water when diluting it? I know there’s concentrates from places like Trader Joe’s so how would these would compare with that.
Your Review was precise and simple as Coffee drinks Go. I wonder if you ever made Coffee Ice Cream with any of these and noticed which ones were stronger? That's what's on my Wish list. Unless I should reconsider Espresso Instant for this purpose instead. Thank you so much.
I would consider myself a coffee snob, but on a mid level.. I do grind my own espresso beans for my lattes. I have a good quality Breville.. now I’m not obsessed with coffee or anything but I can’t drink a bad cup of joe. 😅 and I really want to find a quick alternative when I’m feeling lazy.. thank you. Because so many influencers push Javy and I’m glad I never bought it.

I don't add sugar, but that would be another test for the sweet of tooth. Cheers.
I love coffee but coffee doesn’t love me. I always get intensely jittery or get a sour stomach and generally just don’t feel great after drinking it. I try to eat first or while I’m having it but haven’t found a way that works. Any advice for a novice coffee lover? Side note, I tend to prefer sweet espresso drinks or cold brew usually from Starbucks because that’s all I have near me.
Perhaps experiment with half-caf or decaf drinks! I’d be curious if it’s because of the caffeine or just perhaps coffee doesn’t sit well with you in general. I have a tough time drinking black coffee as well, I’ve found having it with a meal or with creamer is immensely helpful.
I used to have that sort of problem. You might want to try lighter roasts of coffee or decaf, and definitely spread it out over a while. It might also be worthwhile to experiment with different kinds of milk and sweeteners in it, in case whatever you're currently doing is making it worse. Changing the time you drink it in the day might also help
My mom always got a sour stomach from coffee until we learnt that a darker roast has less acidity then a lighter roast, I now brew a pretty dark roast and use lactose free milk for her (many people don’t do well with lactose even though thy aren’t intolerant)
I second the above comment about lactose - most people have some level of intolerance. Regarding caffeine - most likely your tolerance will build up quickly and you won't experience the jitters... but there are good specialty decaf coffees these days too. I used to be Dr "Death Before Decaf" but I quite often drink speciality decaf in the evening now... and I'm not sure I'd wish a crippling caffeine dependence on anyone, you end up drinking too much bad coffee to get the caffeine.
Make your own concentrate. Takes a little time, but it is tasty! Make strong coffee, then simply simmer it in a pan to concentrate the coffee by evaporating the water out of it until it starts to get thick like a high quality balsamic.
Coffee that's heated even for a few minutes starts to oxidize and taste horrible, though - which is why coffee kept on the hotplate of a filter brewer is gross, and why nobody uses percolators anymore. I'm not sure how you could make your own concentrate without it getting that oxidized taste - I would assume that commercially they evaporate at lower temperatures using a vacuum to avoid the issue.
I loved how my $400 Wolfgang Puck turned itself on full blast and had a meltdown in my kitchen during the late night, smoke detector saved me and home, my advice is not to fool with small appliances with high heat, they just can’t last very long and may be lethal.
I have only had it iced. I'm going to try it hot soon I went all through the window without a hot cup of coffee for reasons! LOL I use more than 8 oz of water. I feel my glass with ice I had water to the top of the ice and then I add my teaspoon and cream. I might make my own at home so that I can use my favorite coffee.
I just mathed a little. If you buy trade coffee (which is a coffee company I know distributes coffee in the US and is not the most basic grocery store brand), you buy a 12 oz bag for about 18 bucks (I haven't scrolled through everything, but most coffees on the first 2 pages are about like 17.50 without a subscription, probably plus VAT, cause you US people don't do that on a national scale. According to wikipedia, VAT is up to 10%, so you pay about 19.8 bucks per 12oz bag. Make it 20 for ease of calculation. If you brew coffee at a ratio of 60g/liter, you get 5.7 liters of coffee out of a 12 oz bag, if you brew at 75g/liter, you get 4.5 liters of coffee. That means you pay 3.5 bucks per liter or 4.4, in theory. If that equates to 4 cups a liter, you pay 0.88 bucks per cup if you brew 60g/liter and 1.10 bucks per cup if you brew 75g/liter. If you go with 8oz instead of 250ml, I get to 0.84 and 1.04 bucks a cup. That's with about ~10% tax. If you instead calculate with ~18 bucks a 12 oz bag, prices drop to 0.79/0.75 for a 60g/liter brew and 0.94/0.99 for a 75g/liter brew. That's cheaper than any of the coffee concentrates if you don't buy them at a discount or in a bundle or something. And the trade coffee approximation I used as an example for bean coffee also gets cheapter if you subscribe instead of buying a one-off. If you go to grocery store coffee, prices drop to like 5 bucks a lbs (according to this www.bls.gov/regions/mid-atlantic/data/averageretailfoodandenergyprices_usandmidwest_table.htm ) and a cup would then cost 17 to 21 cents. So the claim these companies make that they're a cheaper altvernative doesn't really hold water in my opinion.
back to the light roast by Klatch, prefer the light to mediums fro-joes, the commonality in all ithink 8 variety is the caramel, I wonder if in the process in which the joe concentrate is produced the sugars are somhow actually carmelized, so not just the typical yummy Maillard reaction from a good roast? The kinda kandy koffee experience in all, is interesting indeed, I don't dislike it, others I imagine will xoxox it. about all out of samples, I will be cancelling, but may order in the future. Just did my Clever dripper grinds over boiling water ceremony with a killer Columbian fermented Guava Banana from Pine, now this is my jam.
Hello!!! I really love your videos! I was wondering if i could give you a video idea 💡 how about reviewing sachet coffee? I know that as a barista, sachet coffee isn't really up to standards, and there are so many- but i would really like to know your opinion lol.
It would be appreciated when you're doing the blind taste test if when editing the video you put a picture of which ones your taking about. It's like we have to remember all three info you're saying as you're tasting them all until your reveal at the end....

JOT reminded me so much of the bagged coffee we used in a Golf Club I worked at. The hazelnut was too strong and off putting. I was expecting a more regular bold flavor and was sorely disappointed wit how sweet and nutty it was.
I have now tried a bout a dozen different Cometeer pods, al have this coffee candy=ness, which isn't a bad thing. All are 13x better than a K cup (YUCK would rather have Micky D's) and and say all are (highly subjectively) about as 1/3 as good as one's most excellent immersion/ pourover brews. Def a niche for them despite the pricepoint. Couldn't find the concentrate that one out for you online, maybe now defunct?
Hey there please can you review the kpod coffee maker and best coffee (kpod), I work at gas station 12 hours shifts every day and i want one coffee maker so i can make coffee and no mess.
Started watching this video bc I'm interested in trying a coffee concentrate. A few minutes in im thinking "She definitely watches GMM" so I click on the channel and see "Will It Coffee" haha man I love being right 🤣
Unfortunately, I cannot consume much caffeine. Javy is the only one that has a decaf version... I drink several cups of coffee a day, so I need a decaf.
Also jot is only 19.50 with subscription and comes with artisan limited bottles with membership and comes with different beautiful cup and travel cup ware
I tried the Javy and it did not do it for me. I brew a moka pot and keep it in the fridge or freeze ice cubes and it does the job after 2:1 or 3:1 dilution. I drink it black. A few cents a cup for good local torréfaction.
I think these could be quite handy for baking. You get the flavour without watering the batter down.
That's very smart!

That’s a brilliant idea! I’m throwing a tablespoon of my Jot in my next batch of brownies!!

You may have a slight intolerance to the caffinol which is the oil (I think) but you can alleviate that issue with something like a tums
I like your husband's hair I used to have curls like that when I grew mine out now I am going a little gray so I leave it short.
I think they mean cheaper than cafes
What if you mixed it with Seltzer and a bit of simple
Like a coffee Italian soda
I appreciate this Morgan. Thank you!
when i worked at burgerking we got a new coffee maker that used coffee concentrates for all the coffee made
What Cometeer does for me is provide a much better Decaf than I can get by traditional brewing.
Great video Morgan :) Btw dat cat reflection in microwave :D
You should look into Black Blood of the Earth by Funranium Labs. I haven't had it yet but I hope to eventually get some.
Thank you for this excellent review video
back to the light roast by Klatch, prefer the light to mediums fro-joes, the commonality in all ithink 8 variety is the caramel, I wonder if in the process in which the joe concentrate is produced the sugars are somhow actually carmelized, so not just the typical yummy Maillard reaction from a good roast? The kinda kandy koffee experience in all, is interesting indeed, I don't dislike it, others I imagine will xoxox it. about all out of samples, I will be cancelling, but may order in the future. Just did my Clever dripper grinds over boiling water ceremony with a killer Columbian fermented Guava Banana from Pine, now this is my jam.
Would love to know how Black Blood of the Earth compares to these.
As you tasted them hot, I wish I knew which of your taste descriptions went with which coffee.
This just saved me from a "Internet made me buy it". Thanks!
I love the cream test
Shuffle Husband did a fantastic job.
Thanks again to Surely for partnering with me! Don’t forget to check them out www.hisurely.com/morgan and use my code MORGAN20 for 20% off!
Wait! What! 13 hours ago? How?
@@m.h.7121 RUclipsrs upload videos before they're released, so they have time to encode in all details, before a scheduled release time when they go public.
I'm on the go allot so I'm actually looking into getting one like these. 👍 😁☕
How do you get $1.50 for cometeer? I get 32 pods a month (love it, btw) and it's $64. Are you including a discount code or something?
JOT reminded me so much of the bagged coffee we used in a Golf Club I worked at. The hazelnut was too strong and off putting. I was expecting a more regular bold flavor and was sorely disappointed wit how sweet and nutty it was.
That was great! I'm wondering what you think about specialty instant coffee :D
Graham be looking like he loves shuffling your coffee ☕️
I have now tried a bout a dozen different Cometeer pods, al have this coffee candy=ness, which isn't a bad thing. All are 13x better than a K cup (YUCK would rather have Micky D's) and and say all are (highly subjectively) about as 1/3 as good as one's most excellent immersion/ pourover brews. Def a niche for them despite the pricepoint. Couldn't find the concentrate that one out for you online, maybe now defunct?
hey i'm looking to get a home espresso machine... i found a new de longhi ec155 for 40 bucks.. worth it?
I don’t care for the alcohol taste in regular wine, does Surely have that classic alcohol taste?
Hey there please can you review the kpod coffee maker and best coffee (kpod),
I work at gas station 12 hours shifts every day and i want one coffee maker so i can make coffee and no mess.
Awesome review thank you!
Started watching this video bc I'm interested in trying a coffee concentrate. A few minutes in im thinking "She definitely watches GMM" so I click on the channel and see "Will It Coffee" haha man I love being right 🤣
Hi Morgan, what ratio do you use for a cold brew concentrate? 🤔
Omg I'm one of first 10 viewers this time :'D
I wonder if you added 2 tsp of javy vs the 1 1/2 if it makes a difference
Black Blood of the Earth is and excellent cold brew concentrate made in SF.
If you mentioned it already and I missed it. How much per cup for your favorite drip
It’s so weird to hear you talking and not just silently reading captions on TikTok. Thanks for the review!
Jot is so amazing and affordable if you space it out.
I tried the Javy and it did not do it for me. I brew a moka pot and keep it in the fridge or freeze ice cubes and it does the job after 2:1 or 3:1 dilution. I drink it black. A few cents a cup for good local torréfaction.
Have you tried Camp Coffee to me it’s the Marmite of coffee concentrate
