Glad to see GM going back to the original size; experimenting with the shorter size was a fail.
What was wrong with the old size. It was similar to others like Honda and Toyota and Nissan, Dodge. Atleast the old one was larger than the current Ford Explorer.
It gave us a choice. The Acadia being the shortest, XT6 a bit bigger, and Traverse / Enclave the largest. Now they’re all huge.
I love my 2018 Acadia Denali size. Now GMC doesn’t sell anything between 183” long (Terrain) and 203” long Acadia. Think about that - a 20” gap in lineup.
I think many of us want something with a third row for occasional use that easily fits in smaller garages.
Totally agree.
@@Inferno45The honda pilot was big as a traverse. The prev Gen acadia was smaller than a Durango even though both have 2 passenger 3rd row. Even though it wasn't bad the compromises couldn't be justified over a highlander. It wasn't a failure but it could have done better if it got what people expected from the first gen.
A big reason we got a 2020 Acadia was because of the shorter size. It still has really good 3-row seating and I don't have to shoe-horn it in the garage.
I don’t even know how people can afford these machines. Gone are the simple vehicles people can truly afford
It’s cuz no one is buying the bottom price models or base models these days
Bs either they don’t have it on the lot/ back ordered or it’s not even worth the saving difference
GMC is the more upscale versions of Chevy. Of course its more expensive.
@@ChopperChad you missed the point
Yep credit and debt is the American way sadly
Wow tfl is featuring a GM!!! Now they just gotta take it off road!
The second row seat function you were looking for is on the passenger side, or as I tell my customers, the carpool side. This discourages kids from entering on the driver's/traffic side. This is consistent across the mid size crossover SUV lineup from GM.
Looks nice lets see how it performs.and holds up
I agree with one of the comments here , you should definitely be in TFL attire! At least a dress shirt with TFL on it! Maybe at least a T shirt with TFL on it! 🌴🌴🌴🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Finally sounds like you might test one of these after 7 years of AllTerrain/AT4 models.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video
Like the changes, but GM needs to have the option for top trims to get a second row bench seat.
Another review mentioned that the Denali does have a second row bench option
@@ma7mgte Thanks, I'll check into that.
Exactly. Good point
I think GM might be trying to redeem itself for not making a Blazer based on the Colorado platform.
IMO - GM dropped the ball starting in 2010 when they stopped making the Trailblazers/Envoys (they were based on the Colorado platform at that time). Those vehicles could have been terrific off-roaders if GM had continued to evolve them. Even as they were, they weren't bad (body on frame, solid rear axles, low range transfer cases, true 4WD, underbody protection, tow hooks, decent ground clearance, and a terrific 4.2l I6 DOHC engine standard). If GM added a little lift, locking diffs and/or traction control, and AT tires - they could have made a version that was a beast off road.
@@byronlarson5534 there is nothing terrific about that 4.2L I6... that thing was junk. That is why they stopped making them. If they put the LT1 in the Colorado? That thing would be the best selling midsize truck.
Blazer sells amazingly. Nothing there to redeem boys, but sure.
@@ReginaldHenderson-jm1ok who tf said anything about sales? The point is that gm should have made the Blazer based on the colorado instead of the grocery getter it is now.
@@ReginaldHenderson-jm1ok so does a Honda CRV and it's better off road
The vehicle looks great! I am glad GM is making the look across the line which I think is great! I don't care for gimmicks. My biggest concern with these engines are they are working hard to pull this weight around and won't last to 200k without major issues along the way. The v6 would of been better here. Also what can this tow? I personally like to get the most out of my SUV's, especially at the price Im paying and I don't trust this new trend of small engines in big cars.
No amber light side signals at rear is a big safety concern
GMC nailed it
I actually miss the days of no center console option so you can move from rear to front easier.
Any off road aids like low range, dif locks, hill desc/ascent? And can we expect to see a diesel variant ?
It appears not.
Hill decent and a twin disk torque vetoring rear diff that works very well will be here. Its a crossover
No 2 speed transfer case? No limited slip differentials/lockers? AWD instead of 4WD? I will pass on this for an off-roader.
These are for the mom's that live out in the country when the roads get bad. lol That is all.
It's a unibody suv what did you expect?
@@NWI_Steel Grand Cherokee Trailhawks, Cherokee Trailhawks, Land Rover Defenders, etc. are unibody and still off road capable. This AT4 simply misses a few key features.
It has a twin disk torque vectoring rear diff. It works really well. Better than fords electric lsd on the expedition
@@byronlarson5534My old Jeep XJ was unibody and more than off-road capable.
Why does the rear remind me so much of the grand highlander? No wonder why the Acadia went back to the size of the traverse
What was the big extension cord under the hood on the driver's side?
Battery tender
Any word on a future diesel, or hybrid?
Lil beast right there....💪
It’s funny that this new acadia get tow hooks when the new tundra gets none
You all should be wearing TFL apparel. You already created the brand and you should be promoting it. Tommy, you look like you just rolled out of bed with that outfit.
You here for the info or his outfit? 😅
I was here for the info but the unprofessional look was distracting
Great video...if you watch on 1.5 speed.
GM is continuing to hit it out of the park!
New vehicles are getting bigger and heavier but the engines are getting smaller and they’re just adding off road and sport appearance trims without anything to back it up. The market is becoming the opposite of what it should be
Yeah the market is very boring. Nothing really stands out anymore.
Check the HP and torque ratings of vehicles from 20-30 years ago, and you'll see dramatic increases in almost every type of new car model. Nothing to back it up? 328HP and 326 Ft/lbs sure seems more HP and torque than common models of Explorer, Durango, Yukon, Camaro, Mustang, Porsche 911, and approaching parity with that times Corvette HP..... from 25 years ago.
@@wavemakersdj corvettes didn’t weigh 5,000 lbs. just in the past 5 years vehicles have been getting slower. 2.0Ts used to be in everything and they made nearly 300 hp now if you can even get a 2.0Tit makes 220-230 hp. The Kona for example they made it bigger but kept the power the same. That keeps happening to all vehicles
@@wavemakersdj you can get a v8 in the Durango and they couldn’t even put their 2.7T in here. Come on.
@@devn3813what vehicles/engines are you referring to when you say 2.0Ts used to make near 300 and now they only make 220-230?
Traverse power and torque figures also been updated to match the Acadia. Same engine.
These vehicles have put countless mechanic's kids through college
why 🤔
Terrible engine 3.6
The 3.6 is gone and so is the 9 speed
@@markv78terrible? 😂. Who forgot to tell that to the thousands of 3.6l Acadias and Travers out there for sale with 150- 200k miles?
@@markv78Actually 2.5 liter turbocharged engine
Real nice!!
I’d rather have a new Pilot Trailsport that will last 300k miles. 😁
You’re also an idiot.
My friend has an Acadia V6 with 268,000 miles. No transmission or engine problems so far.
I don't remember seeing a 300k warranty for those.
I’m biased because I got the Pilot but it’s the nicest car I’ve ever had. I had a Land Rover before it and the interior is similar, honestly.
Unimpressed with all the small displacement turbo engines. Yeah, they make good peak numbers but are overly complex garbage
I used to be a skeptic too. However, my wife bought a 2021 Wrangle with 2.0l turbo. I am much less skeptical at this point. The performance is terrific and it gets impressive gas mileage. The turbo itself adds complexity but with the 4 cylinder turbo compared to V6 you drop 2 camshafts, 2 pistons, 2 fuel injectors, 2 spark plugs, 8 valves, etc. - the additional complexity of the turbo is offset by removing quite a few components.
Wow talk about a non event. The Detroit show needs to go back to its original schedule. No one is even covering this now.
5:14
No halogen bulbs on the exterior?
Wow, I'm shocked. Thought GM would ever go full LED on their exterior vehicles.
This is an amazing SUV. Best interior out there by far!
Any idea when GM will present the new Buick Enclave version?
^Same^
love gmc
The tow hooks and bash plate will be the only thing left on that front fascia if you take it too far off road.
Or over a speed bump.
It would be great if GMC actually built and sold them. "Availability Q1 2024." Tomorrow starts Q2 and you still can't build and price one on the GMC website.
Lmao, so we are back at putting the shifter on the column I take it? Well, for trucks and SUVs I prefer it there, it feels more natural
Thing looks great, inside and out
Its a GMC it wont last very long maybe 10k miles if lucky
@@triplehsheartattack8515y’all are making crap up as y’all go, hush it up.
Compare it to the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk instead of the Exploder. This thing will see a few gravel parking lots and that about it. Most soccer moms will love the AT-4 appearance package,.
The Trailhawk is far more suited for serious off roading compared to this. I don't believe this has a low range transfer case for one. It is AWD instead of 4WD. No locking or limited slip differentials. More of a light off-roader/soft roader.
Trailhawk is probably going to be 15k more than this so....
@@_Bishopton My whole point was their use of Unexpected Off-Road SUV in the title. This thing will never be any of that.
Well done angel tommy
Ground Clearance?
0 to none.
This GMC Acadia At4 looks sinister and ginormous and is going to credential off-road this vehicle is essential to the family however this car is the most powerful with all-terrain we can long trips whether off-road or highway there is no problem I like glittering big grill with beautiful gmc red logo looks stunning future this vehicle powered by 3.6L v6 that was made a 9 speed automatic transmission four cylinders but there are they are turbocharge four-cylinder I liked especially infotainment portrait mode flanked it between ac vents thanks
All depends on price @ 50k + it's not cool @ 40k it's cool
Wait till someone grabs that column shifter and breaks it off! They might not realize it’s a touch sensitive! 🌴🌴🌴🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Guys, the lens you are using is really ruining the whole video 😮
Drives me nuts, almost every walkaround video they do the lens has smudges on it that makes everything blurry
Is this the same as the new Traverse?
Yes same platform
Diesel engine option please.
Which is better, GMC Acadia or Volkswagen Atlas?
mazda cx9
Looks great but can't afford it
Dude climbed over the second row seat. I’m sure they flip forward like they have for years
That ain’t gunna be cheap
Hopefully it has a low range.
Did Tommy just roll out of his hotel bed before shooting this video or what? Looks like hes heading to Walmart for some munchies... not about to review a car at a national auto show for work 😂
I saw these in real life, the styling got my attention but I’m disappointed in the drivetrain🎉
The profile looks like the KL Cherokee stretched out.
Like a Grand Highlander but without the quality.
This generation of vehicles is very interesting and fascinating 😂no but seriously, to me, it looks a Jeep Cherokee on steroids 😅
انا لا اعرف ماذا تقول ولاكن يبدو انها سياره رائعه
👍👍👍
Nobody is going off road with this thing. It is just more capability theater.
thats alot of suv to move for a 4 cylinder turbo. I don't think it will make 80k miles
Ahhhh yes looks like gm is using chat gpt for styling…. I mean could it be anymore non-descript in the side profile….. sheesh
It looks like every other suv out there 🤷♂️ It’s not ugly
Oh lord, so much touchscreen
Cheap plastic cover over the engine, manufacturers need to improve in this area, looks like eighty"s gm. On the positive side hydraulic hood struts. Prop rods first seen on 73 civic need to go the way of the dodo bird.
You need to clean your camera lens.
Towing? payload?
if you wanna tow buy a real body on frame truck
Acadia is a big-time money maker for us automotive technicians. 😂 Turbo?🤑🤑🤑 We will see.
The touchscreen everything is just too much anymore, even with the toggle switches.
GM wins it on design but again the little turbo engines are junk and I don't think the intended audience who steps up to a GMC SUV over a Chevy really wants GM's budget cheap little turbos in their cars.Chevy Spark? Sure! GMC Acadia? NO!
4cyl turbo is a bad thing. I'd rather have a normally aspirated 6.
no, controls are difficult while driving
GM lost me at 4cyl turbo charged. 😢😢😢
They should’ve renamed it. This is nothing like an Acadia lol
No rear window shades, no ventilated rear seats, tires that roar on the street, unproven turbo 4, price increase, not me no thanks….!
Notably old design elements used for the exterior, like 2010-14 Nissan.
This would be really nice with a third row delete
Just fold it down? Now it’s gone
He has no idea what a toggle switch is
More SCRAP!
1:11 red rear turn signals are a fail and need to be illegal. Imagine taking all that time designing this thing only to forget what color turn signals are. Oh, GM, the more things change, the more things stay the same...
Most automakers in the US use red. Stop whining
Historically one of the most unreliable vehicles on the road.
Folks, just get a minivan. I know they are lame but ask yourself the last time you went off road.
with over a one million subscribers and you shot this video with a f*cking iPHONE !💔👀
man, uses your own professional cameras 📹
Until you people stop buying these highly overpriced trucks, the prices will never come down.
I always say people aren't buying things because they need it people are buying vehicles because they want them people have forgotten about wants and needs. I have a 2016 vehicle with 106,000 miles on it still runs until something catastrophe happens or engine blows or something I'll keep driving it. People are buying these over priced vehicles because they want them not because they need it
Have you heard of the federal reserve? Has to do with money supply
People have been buying expensive vehicles and things that they want since the beginning of time. You don’t want anyone to have the option of a premium experience just because you can’t afford it. That is absolutely weird.
@@ReginaldHenderson-jm1ok quite frankly now people are buying not because of need its a want most people are buying expensive things to show off do they really need it hell no it's all about showing off which is what most people are doing. People have forgotten about the main principles of wants and needs. It's more about buying some ridiculous over priced expensive vehicle to show off fact.
It's not that simple, if people stop buying new cars their need for a car won't just go away, so they'll buy used cars and then the use cars will rise in price and it will be more sensible to just buy a new car, also it's not just cars al electronics are rising in prices and since people want more and more tech in cars the price will only rise.
But the strange thing to me is how people are always complaining about prices yet the sales record are being broken all the time by all sorts of products
Garbage reliability and build quality. Stay away.
Is this Ford CEO/?
If you think you need this pile, just lease it and return promptly after 3 yrs
Not sure why, but I've always hated the name of this car.
expensive junk
If that continues to use that sorry ass 3.6 then Government Motors is DOOMED‼️ but regardless GM is DOOMED especially with their gaudy ass chrome accents, and annoying door chimes on the majority of their lineup (you know the one since 1999 😂😂😂😂)
Worst built vehicles ever
Turbo? No thanks.
No one asked for this.
If it ain't a stick shift, it should be on the columb.
GM = 💩
Toyota = 🌞
How many JD power awards did you get for reviewing this junk? It’s not quality or thrilling to drive, what are you doing?
TfL should review the Explorer timberline
Make a traditional column shifter but GMC did with this new vehicle with the crappy take on a column shifter which is not even a column shifter
If only GMC could make a remotely reliable car nowadays. Acadias have a reputation as one of the worst on the road. GMC can’t even make a car that passes IIHS safety tests 😂
Side rear view looks like a Subaru Assent.
