    Fun fact, if all the Utranians under your command die and you haven't activated the elf monument yet, you can talk to the Lord and he will give you reinforcements.

    As nouns the difference between warden and warder is that warden is a guard or watchman while warder is a guard, especially in a prison.

    Elves are perhaps my favorite class of units to use because of the rapid wood income, I like it when my resources aren't gonna run out anytime soon. The towers have a very small footprint which makes it seem like they were very much intended to be spammed together in close quarters and they do a good job of defending your bases. Wanderers and rangers are surprisingly strong if you use only them because they're easily replacable and rangers are ranged units which automatically makes them good. They tend to struggle with non-wood resources though. There's no mines and berries tend to be very whatever for food, but the units are great. You already know how great Windarchers are, their DPS might be the lowest of the archers (yes even compared to rangers) but they got the range, the ice and the trueshot which makes up for it. Wanderers should not be ignored though, their DPS is great as long as you don't make them waste time casting iceshield (which happens if you upgrade them)
    Oh and they are the only race with access to aura of healing in a unit. I don't think I have to explain why that is just the best.
    If you want elves to feel truly powerful, the Reimagined mod does that for you. Elf warders gain a +1 range spear when upgraded, rangers can shoot from point blank and apply various debuffs, wanderers get an actual upgrade instead of casting iceshield and even towers have their cost reduced to 80 wood. I easily beat the godwall with just elf wardens and rangers.

      Yeah, upgrading Wanderers in vanilla is pointless. Maybe if the Iceshield had a large cooldown to prevent them from just spamming it, it would be great.

    I never make melee units in this game unless ranged units aren't available. 99% of the time your hero can tank while arrows rain down. Especially if you have white magic available.

    i think human monument on this map is meant to be sort of a trap, if you take it early, you get attacked more from every direction (at least from what i remember, some monuments are like that, like frost march, using orc monument makes elfs immediately send waves of mobs at you)

      But in the icegate marches, the ice elves are so far off, they never get close. I usually clear the lower area with my heroes (including the green dragons), then take the monument and move my heroes along the ice path, all the way to it's end. I'll keep them defending my base close to the troll monument, clear the golems with my orc army (once it's ready), then take the troll monument and defeat the elves :)

    this is making me want to play Spellforce again. Though, I'm not sure if I'll swap to vanilla again or stick with my current modded version

    When I played this game after few years when i started this map i had level 7 or 8. If i played this game now i would enter this map with level 10. I completed this campaign with level 30 few times, but that takes a lot of EXP farming :)

    I like the idea of challenging yourself with having unit restrictions. Do you think you cab beat the black fist with only recruits, scouts, and their elven counterparts? Maybe throw in at most 10 healing units at any given time, but that's it😄

      @@Wormic I think I'll try it myself soon enough, but with a pure fighter. Have no such save game ready right now I think, but it shouldn't take too long. Might need to attack twice, I think the towers could be too much, despite the healers
