Yes, there is flooding all around Chaing Rai. Parts of Hyw 118 (the main highway from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai) are flooded. Every time it starts to rain, I start to worry. I am hoping the weather improves from my monthly ride to Chaing Mai. I usually spend two nights in a different hotel to check out new restaurants and do some shopping. Hi Jon, Not sure what job you had but getting work with a Thai Company isnt easy & with many Chinese invading Chiangmai its gonna get harder? as Thai companies will look at multi language skills if for a work permit?? Retail is getting hit by Temu & Lazarda & is damaging Thailand. Also forget bars etc as those days have gone? If you decide on real estate be aware many Thais are sellers, brokers etc & even getting the commissions can backfire & as you know you cannot freelance but your wife can. I note your wife has a business & you could assist her in the interim as an option with new ideas. Like to hear what work skills you have....but I stress to anyone coming to Thailand to start business---make sure you have a Thai Manager whom you can trust as without youre dead before you start???

MOST Thai women can’t afford to “ casual date “ notice I said MOST This is NOT opinion this is Thai culture and farang and other foreigners should not be “ offended “ by a culture that’s not their own! In Thai culture it’s not even “ offensive “ for parents to ask directly how much you make and what you do for money like in America for example this would be “ offensive “ … judging from the fact you have “ free time “ to make videos your not completely broke yet but in most cases over time it would cause a problem in a normal Thai relationship…if you choose another culture to live take the good and bad and move on because MOST Thais look ANY farang or foreigner with a Thai women and assume he is paying her weather true or not
