    This is excellent, chaps!
    Both as a concise and well presented lesson on the mechanics, and also a slickly produced and professional piece of video.
    The HEMA-sphere needs more content like this!

    Awesome content, well explained and great production quality! Love it!
    (One small critique: do not wear completely black clothing if you demonstrate techniques in a rather dark room. It makes it quite difficult to see the fencer.)

    Itty bitty: the winden into the schnitt with a hard bind -- might it be better to take the sword to the other side of the opponent's neck as shown in the Zwerch section?

    Nice guys, like the way you explain, the way you showing example slowly as well as the way showing the video from 2D side and another video showing from the perspective of the fencer, thumbs up 👍👍👍, hope keep it up more videos for us to learn and understand the art 😊
    Also may i know,
    1. What is the name of the sword/feder you guys are using?
    2. From where did you guys buy it? If it is not troublesome, would you guys share the link of those swords?
    Thank you and really appreciate it 😊

      Regarding the swords, at the time of the video, we had a Regenyei and a Kvetun (both standard federschwerts).
      Thanks again ;)

      No problem as long there will be a video 😆
      I forgot to mentioned to you that on 2:37 minute, I saw both of you are holding a sword like shape, is that a an actual feder or a feder that is designed with the shape of a sword? What is their name/brand? ☺️

    not quite sure about this but at 5:03 you stated something about a “haw“. were you referring to the german word hau which means strike? Not an expert in swordfighting but german native speaker...

    • @davegallo7172
      @davegallo7172 2 года назад +1

      Yes exactly. In the german manuals we often find either Haw or Hau. Sometimes even Hauw :)

    I didn't really understand, why this ochs is soft? He controlls blue fully. 11:41

    • @SaladArmedelFolle
      @SaladArmedelFolle  Год назад

      Hi! Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it is not so easy to make everything 3 dimensional :) but if you pay attention you can see that the tip of my blade is off-line, not centered towards Keith's face but rather on the side. This makes the binding soft.

    Does Orthodox and southpaw stance have a name in Longsword fighting? And also, are there any attacks or parry's that work particularly well when in Orthodox vs Southpaw opposed to Orthodox vs Orthodox?
    If you know of a video or of something I can read more on to put me in the right direction feel free to link me.

      Hi! What do you mean with "orthodox and southpaw"?

    • @rf2642
      @rf2642 Год назад +1

      @@SaladArmedelFolle Orthodox - Lead foot is left foot. Southpaw - Lead foot is right foot.

    • @davegallo7172
      @davegallo7172 Год назад

      @@rf2642 Hi! thanks for your clarification. In historical fencing is simply left guard and right guard :) Then every author gives different names to guards related to the position of both sword and feet.
      In longsword, regarding Liechtenauer, we have the Vier Leger: Vom Tag with left foot or right foot, Pflugh with left foot or right foot, Ochse with left foot or right foot, Alber with left foot or right foot and many other secondary guards.
      To stay with left foot or right foot forward gives you many more options with cuts and thrusts and you're also able to "invite" your opponent to strike you where you want. If you always stay with right foot forward you have less options, at least with the longsword :)
