The torque makes this small engine feel like it has alot of power. Frankly, not alot of years ago the same you might see on 2.0 TDI engines with 140-150 HP and 250Hm of torque. And nowadays 1.0 liter 3 cylinder 140 HP and 250 Nm engine does the same. Hopefully it will last at least 1\3 of the 2.0TDI engines :D
Idk why people think TDI last long. Lol all 2.0tdi around me have problems. Turbo, pressure problems, egr problems, faulty injectors, dpf problems, I never seen those problems on any mall TSI engines 1.0tsi 85kW/ 1.4tsi 110kW/ 1.5tsi 110kW

None of the things you've mentioned are / have been problems. The thing is, 75% of the mileage has been done on Autobahn. I've always changed the oil between 15 - 20t km. My consumption is around 5 l / 100km. As mentioned - mostly autobahn. It's irreplacable for the right purpose and in right hands...
Spot on Have the DSG version of this Skoda Fabia and 0-60 its okay 9.5 sec. 30-90 its quicker than a golf TDI the engine is a slow starter off the mark but rolling its a little beast. Have embarrassed many expensive car because they have no idea what it can do. The engine in this vid is quicker than the new Fabia as VW have ordered Skoda not to beat Polo with the Fabia on speed.
i may be a little bias as i work in skoda but i think skoda in 3-4 generation has one of the nicest interiors of all daily cars. for me at least steering wheel is number 1

Ok, mine's tuned too.. 250nm on paper, 263nm on the brakes (dyno). Why so much? 0W-20 Castrol titanium IV LL vw.508 vw.509 + bg115 moa + metabond spirit + cleaned whole fuel system with bg208 44k+ cleaned engine with bg epr before pouring oil out. 225km/h on ger.autobahn
as I can see, the shifting, and revs droping after pressing the clutch is again so slow, then you can do big kicks for transmission :( ... same from 1.2 TSI ... high revs go down very slowly ... 3:33 - really in 40 km/s you are shifting to first gear? 😬😫😖😥 without gas :( 3rd gear and 150km/h wau :D
I know I'm late to this conversation, but why wouldn't it. My 1.0 3-cylinder just passed 250k km. No major problems, apart from normal maintenance. Meanwhile our n/a 4-cylinder that has 100k km has needed 2500€ in engine repairs.
@@davosworks Not rumor. Pure logic.. Think about it.. You make 3-cyl engine - you dont have enough power - and you strap turbo on it ? Wears the engine so fast. Also turbo adds complication - if from low quality material - will burn out faster. And the temps are higher - you can push the engine 15 min - but after that temp will sky-rocket - Dont even think about pushing it on a hot day.
@@cocosloan3748 lol there are thousands 6cylinders with 600hp so 3 cylinders have 300hp. And engine in this fabia has only 150hp Also Arteon R or golf R has 2.0tsi 320hp so 240hp for 3 cylinders. And they can run 400-500k kulometres without any problems. Same with this 1.0tsi. It small tank. Very strong block. Diesels have much more pressures than this 1.0tsi.
@@davosworks So you compare 3-cyl engine with 6-cyl ? Its easy like that 3+3 is 6 right ? NO way.. 3-cyl engine crankshaft is 120 degree and thats not optimal at all . With superchargers and turbos you can get high power ofc (and add complexity , lag and stress on the engine - not every engine is strong and engineered for this - hence only exceptionally well made engines like some Nissan's are suitable) - but show me 3-cyl engine NA with good torque and high revs ?
@@cocosloan3748 may be a little late with this but hey, check out the yaris GR and you'll see that if engineerred and built properly, 3cyyl engines can deliver pretty nice figures and be quite reliable. For example the yaris gr that I mentioned before, this 1.0 tsi and even the 0.9 tce from renault. For the latter ones I think it's safe to say that they proved their reliability since it passed quite a few years from their launch and no major issues have been reported. (We will not talk about the 1.2tsi, that's another story 😅)

@@flexer7848 Ty tříválce už z logiky věci mají větší objem na válec než 4válce, takže srovnatelný motor co se objemu týče je 1,25x tolik = cca 1,2 - 1,3l obsah, navíc jsou na tom motoru vyztužené klikovky a ojnice prostě vytuněné, aby to vydrželo. Spolehlivost pokud se k tomu nebude člověk chovat jako dobytek a nechá to zahřát, nebude to podtáčet a tlačit přes krouťák, tak je skvělá, mám na nynější 3 fabce natočené 176 000 měnil jsem teď pro sichr rozvoďák a ještě mě čeká vyměnit původní kotouče a brzdy a tlumiče cca 180 000 vše původní, to samé vejfuk už je vevnitř zrezlej, nemá rád krátké trasy, kde se usadí voda a nezahřátý motor to nestihne odpařit, proto to rezne, jinak jen měním olej a závady 00 nic to auto je naprosto skvělé, jedinou výtku mám k sedačkám a podvozku, ve scale jsou mnohem lepší sedačky a podvozek, kdyby nestála scala 2x tolik peněz, šel bych do 1,5 scaly s manuálem, ale jelikož to je drahý jak prase musí mi stačit fábka 81kw s litříkem, v poměru cena výkon je to za mě pokud nevážíte přes 100Kg a tak je to skvělé auto pro drobnější lidi pro nějaký tlustoprdy bych volil něco většího, ale pro normální lidi 90kg za ty prachy za mě skvělé auto co moc konkurence nemá.

@@davosworks my vw passat 2.0 TDI 06. Has no problems i have never seen a check engine light on. i keep it clean and working( regular oil changes etc)

at 100k km, you can put that engine in the bag :)) a 3-piston engine will never be reliable in the long run!
If maintenance is on point, they don't have any issues. But yeah if you trash it 100% of the Time, any engine won't last all that long...
