As unrealistic as this seems, it happens 😬 One time I went clothes shopping while living in Korea. I went to a district known for having more "foreigner-sized" clothes. I was still pretty amateur w/ the language and the sizing, so I basically told the lady my waist/hip measurements (at the time I had a 30" waist, which is like a US size 8/10 and not that big imo) and the girl was straight up like "We don't manufacture clothing that large 😤" fmllllll lol that made me so self-conscious and I felt like a whale even though looking back I was in great shape at the time lol

But they literally had no clothing that would fit that waist size lol... Korea has some pretty extreme beauty standards and a lot of "plus size" women over there have been pushing against those standards, esp. in clothing sizes.

So to get back at her I fat shamed her just like she did me but the opposite. I don’t necessarily regret what I did but I feel like I could’ve taken a different approach. But at the same time karma.

I think you can be a plus-sized girly pop and be confident, but also admit that you need to be more healthy and disciplined. I gained 60 lbs after a depression and I am at where I am now. I don’t think I am ugly, but my family does harass me about my weight which can tempt me to question my confidence. Though I am confident while being “fat,” and still logically know that losing weight is the better option and that being overweight leads to many health risks. Acknowledging that isn’t fat-phobia it’s just truth

Loosing weight is forcing your body through changes that may as well worsen your health, contribute to existing problems etc. If you look at psychosomatic causes of illness, the reason why a fat person is less healthy in average then a slim person can be related to... the fat person being bullied, the fat person harming itself in the process of attempting to loose weight, problems that are related to low self-esteem rather then being fat, etc. So if i am NOT bullied, if i do NOT harm myself with unhealthy attempts to loose weight, if i avoid people who negativly impact my self-esteem... I might not have as many health risks, as claimed. I believe some people like to exaggerate the health risks, to motivate themselves to work out and skip meals. Promoting the health benefits of being slim also means creating demand for services and products that help people maintain their figure. I doubt there is a honest discussion about who and how people may contribute to a fat persons health problems as it is basically an influencers whole source of income to feed into existing stereotypes. If you look at death statistics however... you will see, NOONE escapes the main cause of death, which is age.

So one day me, my mom, and my friend were at Ross looking at clothes. I wanted to try something on and my mom came with me. Let me just say, the dressing rooms there sucked, you could hear everything. So that means my friend could hear what we were saying. Anywho, as I was changing into a top my mom said, "You need to start watching what you eat so you don't get bigger." When we walked out my friend just didn't talk the rest of the time. My mom would remind me of watching what I eat everyday for a month straight. That really ruined my mental health for a long time, I would eat less and I would stare at the food blankly and feel bad about myself.
