My review and practice on the lower budget version of a Russian Arm, called the Motocrane, which is a car mounted stabilized remote jib operated from inside the camera car. For more information on using the Motocrane, click on Drivers Eye links above.

Please put Ronin 2's Motion Block on the yaw axis, it would help make the images more stable, even at very high speed.

hey I really like what you do and I myself is doing the same thing but I don't shoot my video with high end camera , I shoot my video with an Ipod touch, which I get pretty good shots and I love doing it. I'd say keep up good work and I hope to see more camera angle you do, so I can learn from them and apply them on my video. down the road I hope get to work with you and learn more about the camera angle, so yeah... keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either that Ronin 2 wasnt balanced correctly or that gimbal really sucks. So much pan wobble. Motocrane looks good though.

Very cool gear. Any idea about the cost breakdown of using the Motocrane for a day ?

SewTubular You'll definitely have to reach out to Drivers Eye for pricing, but I do know that in general, for the Motocrane, Ronin, Driver and Arm operator, it's below $5K/day. Obviously crew rates could change based on Union status and such.
