I sacrificed my free time. I started doing overtime and all that money went towards my starter emergency fund of £2K. I built that in 2 months. Now i am paying off my debt and then will overpay what is left of my mortgage. I hope to be 100% debt free in less than 3 years. I've also now realised I was lazy and I don't feel like I am sacrificing anything now.
I have never had more than £500 saved in my life. Seeing that 2k feels so freeing and has built my confidence....its just the beginning.

I’ve made so many life changing decisions by watching your videos and have even advised my siblings and friends. what I, family and friends have achieved include, paying off 🇺🇸 student loan in 1 year by paying down the capital, life insurances, stocks, buying electric cars(1 downpayment), and property investment. Bought financial books and watched podcasts. As a christian, i am sacrificing more in order to be more generous. Currently prioritizing health. 😊. Thank you 😊 for your videos.
The journey began with your videos. i make my hair myself, just weaving beneath and using braided wigs $10 from Nigeria.(Tip from Mary of the humble penny) And i use shear butter on my hair and olive oil.
I watched your videos on your electric car and advised everyone around me to get on board. Paying down capital on your house was and is still an eye opener. A family member used the strategy to pay off student loans in less than 1 year.
Your book is a must read this year.
Thank you very much. I must add that there is something calming about your channel. It distinguishes you from other channels. You are just doing something right. God loves this……. Well done.

Yep sacrificing is necessary though not a fun topic. To put away my deposit for a house and other financial goals I have, I had to give up my favourite thing travelling for the past 3 years, not buying much clothes, stayed in a uncomfortable jobs as quitting when I really wanted would have affected my financial goals. I kept focused and pushed ahead and now I am in the position where I can do those things I want today. It wasn't easy at all but I'm glad I have improved my situation.

Thanks for this video Ken. Your illustrations of what could be achieved in a year and what that could mean really struck a chord. I always thought as a single person that house ownership was out of my grasp but I see now that this is possible. I don't have any significant debt (thanks for your earlier videos that helped me with this) and have started to invest, again thanks to your videos, but I see that I can take my financial situation to an even higher level. As you say sacrifice is not a trendy word but I am excited by the potential and opportunities that could be open to me through sacrifice. CJ-11, in addition to the video and this advice, you can still save at least 10%.. based on what you indicated about your current financial status.. given your situation, you can start from at least 10% and grow that slowly.. you may need to sacrifice for 3 to 5 years as a goal, but at least start from 10%... and at some point during the period, start a small business... life is not easy, and the older you get, the harder it becomes... so start now so you shield yourself from the older age risk of not having the strength to do it... by the way, I am a 55-year-old man telling you this from experience, and I have recently started myself... am giving myself 10 years to do this... backing it up with business that will outlive me... think about that..

I moved back with my mom in 2023 and was able to save over $21,000 to date. I paid her $200/month for “rent.” I could have used that break from paying apartment rent to shop, go on vacations, and just spend frivolously. The only purchase I made was a new car since my 2012 Nissan finally broke down. If I could, I’d stay here another year but I’m about to go back out into the real world of adulthood 🙄😅

We went without holidays abroad for 5 years after we bought our house - we were trying to do the house up a bit then had a child. But you can do lots of fun things cheaply with children. Once your youngest is a bit older and gets some free nursery hours or maybe when they're at school maybe your wife will be able to take on some part time work - even a low second salary in a household can make a huge difference. I will then contribute the exact amount of anything I enjoy. For example: if I want to go to the pub and spend £60.
