Please do one of those Sharks on the channel. I’m sure I can’t afford one, but I always loved the old guitar companies attempts at putting interchangeable effects units in the guitars, and this looks like a pretty clean way to have a full rig in your hands for a small gig. Really neat. Usually gimmicks and innivation annoy me in guitars (I play a 335) but something about this got me. Probably the good looking wood surfoard look didn’t hurt. I’ve always loved guutars that looked like 60s surfboards. In the 90s Rickenbacker made some awesome examples…one turquoise one with a name like “Aquarius” or something was the apple of my eye in Musiciand Friend catalogue as a teen.
We definitely need some follow-up on Shark. I mean. In some respects it's ridiculous because switching out a fretted for a fretless neck necessitates a complete restring, it's impractical as hell. And switching the pick-ups is cool, but once you've picked your pick-ups under what circumstances would you actually need to switch them out? But for the non-luthier guitarist these seem to promise a lot of fun.
I will be very interested in the neck pitch, as that mounting system seems to necessitate uniform neck pitch, and the neck options with regard to scale length and fret quantity (given the bridge's location relative to the neck joint). Being able to change from 24.75" to 25.5" scale with 22-fret and 24-fret options for each, just as examples, would make pickup reviews and demos *much* easier to produce. The price quoted would buy two Warmoth partsocasters for a US customer, hence the ability to change configurations would need to exceed the variance of two guitars for me to even consider it.
Another fantastic video! Nice to get a glimpse of the Heritage guitars. I’m turning 50 in a few months and I am treating myself to an LP style guitar. It’s between the Gibson, Heritage, Eastman and PRS. I am leaning towards the Heritage 150 standard.
Nice to see you spending some time with Dowina. I went into a guitar shop to buy a parlour guitar, picked using the only method that counts (actually playing some guitars) and came out with just a stunningly beautiful Dowina dreadnought instead. Quality for the price is impressive.
Those Shark guitars look really well designed from a functional perspective. And at $2500, the starting price is not bad considering the value offered. The only question is whether the looks are appealing. But I think they allow you to design your own guitar so you aren’t stuck with just their canned designs, though I don’t know if they offer any options that are more classic/retro. Would be cool for Andy to do review at some point (big hint)😉!
Totally feel your pain Andy... I was only there for Sunday! Definitely not enough time... glad I could catch Chris Buck's Sunday event... my favorite, the COFFEE body guitars! They're pretty fun... and then there were the Baum guitars... literally, the Baum! Was great to see you there! 🤘🎸😎🎵🎶🫶
That instant floating trem/fixed bridge mechanism seems like sheer genius. Much depends on the quality of the materials used and the longevity but what a great, unique idea IMO, as a dedicated Floyd/Edge user. And Sharks definitely seems like they are doing super interesting things with those pickup modules and even the crazy on board pedal concept. @Andy, definitely need to try and get a closer look!
New to the channel but boy your making a 66yo smile at every video ... Now , must go and power chord on my ancient Fender Showmaster with Floyd rose hardware
Gordon Smith are fantastic. I have a gs2 from the eighties and it is the best double cut twin humbucker guitar that I have ever played. The current models are built to really decent spec. This vid is exactly the sort of tour that I used to do at the London Guitar show, back in the day, when I was on a stand and had early access. Cheers mate.
no, no Andy wait, go back to Dowina Acoustics and try again the first, "kinda reddish-black-parlor" one !!! OMG what was than beautiful low-mid detail that graced my ears 🤩
Too bad we missed you this year! We've put heaps of work into improving Guitar2Tabs since we talked 2 years ago, so feel free to check them out ;) cheers mate!

Shark is cool!!!
Accessible to everyone, starting at $2500.00, yeah OK.
Wish we heard it. Esp that fretless

@@PondoSinatra680 I suspect they meant "accessible" relative to a custom guitar, given all of the custom hardware and tooling.

The Shark Guitar guy built the Rita Hayworth of electric guitars. One is too amazed to look away
Whoa now. Put your pants back on, buddy.
@@cumfartchuglord Too Late. The fuzz pedal was too much

Looked loads of fun! I'm glad Guitar Summit is shaping up to be a great guitar show!
thanks mate
These show vlogs are great! Thanks for taking the time to shoot/edit/post them! Cheers!
You’re welcome! It’s fun making them (maybe not editing them 😉)

Great to see you too mate. We need a week of summit
How cool you were allowed in before they unlocked the doors for the masses.... Great video !

The Dowina guitars were lovely! I think that's just how an acoustic guitar should sound.

You play beautiful acoustic!❇
Thank you!
Loved the walk around. Thank you Andy and Robin
Hey V! Glad it made you happy 😊
cole clarke are brilliant guitars, I love mine to the moon and back. they are a must try.

Aiken is making some great acoustic guitars.

Great video as always Andy. Hope you cover Thomas Blug at some point. 🙂

I’ll be sure to do that!
Love your vids :)
I have one of those "O" basses. An orange one. It plays very nice, trying to get used to the LP shape, as I have mostly offset type basses.
I'm considering getting one ... How are the ergonomics? Looks like it might hurt lol
Andy looking at things. 😉
I think I saw a Jake E. Lee signature pedal akin to the Friedman IR-X.
'Hello Security? There's a shifty looking cove loose in the Toy Factory and he's running amok. The use of lethal force has been authorised by the Mayor'
I have one of these Natasha "ghost guitars", bought it at Kickstarter. Very good price performance ratio. Give it a try if you have the chance!
Thanks! Good to hear some positive feedback
I want the Orange Glenn Hughes signature bass or amp or both, party because they are purple and I can refer to it as my Orange bass and amp.
For fun.
I wouldn't have walked right past the Guilds while talking to the camera. But that's just me.
I wish I hadn't! I invite you to do what I do and not go partially guitar blind
Anyone knows the name of the futuristic archtop brand at 5:48?
Some of these products try to solve a problem that doesn’t exist, like that laser stomp box lol
I nearly went to this ,, ummmd and aaahd and didn’t in the end … maybe next yr ..?
do it!
So much gear, your 'GAS' pains must be massive!
Andy definitely got bitten by sharks. And it's goood! 😂❤
Shark Guitars are Allan Holdsworth's wet dream
20 minutes in l do think the charming lady made you have a momentary lapse of time. You seemed vexed
Thanks for this coverage. I find most of the electric guitars shown to be hopelessly ugly and tacky, though.
With respect, gestures are not sign language.
