This was so fun to watch! What a wonderful time we live in where all of these incredible builders are making guitars.
We were so excited you guys liked what we do! Thanks @DriftwoodGuitars. Let's hang out at NAMM.

I'm eternally grateful that Chris picked up a mirror and light rather than a band-saw when looking at my guitar.

Years ago I used to be a Santa Cruz dealer, and Richard Hoover, aside from being a truly gifted luthier, is a very gracious and kind person. You don't meet many people like him in the guitar business. Thanks for the great presentation. It's one of the few times I've seen a video actually convey the quality of top quality guitars adequately. Not an easy thing to do.

Yeah , as a guitar maker I must say that it's not the luthiers who are assholes to each other , it's generally players ...... hehehe

It’s amazing to get the perspective of other luthiers on such beautifully made instruments. Great episode!

This is good stuff! A builders take and appreciation, not just the typical specs and someone playing is awesome. Thank you.

I just want to see how Matt Chulka reacts when you do the drop test, pour liquids on them, and saw their boutique guitars in half haha!!
Sorry couldn’t resist… I’ll be quiet and actually watch the video now!!
    You guys are great!!

Definitely dig that circle strings. Id never heard of them either, but when making a guitar from the tree, too many luthiers (all of whom are immensely talented) tend to turn the whole guitar up to 11 as far as aesthetics. Pearl, purfling, fingerboard inlays, etc. keep the rest simple. Let the star of the show be the star, so to speak.

Lowden inspired me to start building. Wish you had played a special Lowden there, but McNally, Ryan, and McPherson inspire me to keep building. Such cool guitars and I'd want to play that McNally before all the others!

It's like an Avengers crossover. One of my favorite luthier channels (Driftwood) joins forces with an amazing shop (someday I'll get out there to visit). Greetings from L.A.!

Am I seeing things that aren't there or does the Ryan guitar have an amount of cavein at the soundhole in front of the bridge ? Some very nice work there among these beauties . Peace ✌

Ryan guitars builds my favorite 12-String Guitars, also McPherson introduced me to Macassar Ebony. I can't afford either but they are amazing and I have to thank McPherson because I would have bought an Ebony guitar if it wasn't for the fact that I heard one of theirs. My breedlove may not be at the same range but it sounds better than most breedlove 12-String Guitars that I've played in the past.

They all sound great but I like the Santa Cruz the best. The Kieran McNally guitar is nice too.

That final guitar was so bizarre, not sure why it was included. Thanks for introducing me to a half dozen guitars I'm cant play well enough to warrant buying. But seriously thanks for the insights.

Am not sure the Driftwood guitars are as good as these. I think they are very good at self promotion, and maybe the aesthetics of guitars. So good luck, but ultimately the sound is what matters, and these are some of the finest. Why not feature really top end such as Nigel Forster? Or Sobell? or Turnstone?

This is no fun because the guitars are not properly miced so all sound tinny and thin.
