Nice. But I'd suggest you make the door a slide instead of a swing as a safety. In case for some reason some creep shuts the tailgate on you. You would be trapped.
I stuffed around the edges with window unit foam strip. About 2x2 foam strip, on mine I built. Wanted to make it so it pops right in and can be flipped right out when done camping. No bed frame with mine just a solar panel, power distribution with fuse box and a separate AGM battery holder that is charged by solar panel and slips into the hitch receiver. Has exhaust vents in the side with a speed controller so I can tune for most efficiently throughout the night, 12v battery charger for phones, windows on sides with vents, window on door and on wall next to the door.
This is super dope. Something along the lines of what i want toward retirement. Just move state to state and live. Im only 36 but maybe by 60 ish depending on where our country goes. 🤔
Yeah, it works great. I actually have a truck camper, however I hate how big/heavy it is. Horrible gas mileage and a lot of wear on my truck. That’s why I decided to just go this route. Thanks for watching!
I saw where you said you chain the tailgate open to the frame or somewhere, but just for a secondary emergency precaution I’d have 2 batteries 2 sawzaws and a whole pack of blades handy just in case. I was going to bring up the tailgate getting shut as well but man no windows to escape, I’d make my own quickly.
Yeah, it’s definitely not the most ideal truck camper shell to use for this idea (no windows) but it’s all I had. I always have the ratchet to take off the shell clamps in the back, so it would take me a few seconds to pop them off and push off shell if I absolutely had to.
@@EndlessoutdooradventuresOh by the way I love this creation. Kinda what I’m wanting to do for me and the wife. Just got a tundra single cab with an 8 ft bed. Question though, how long does it take to convert it all back to just a bed for the truck and not a bed for you? Removing your bed shelves and camper top? Could put something like this in here in an hour or less it would totally be worth it for those camping trips.
The little door cutting your bed down by 6 inches, reducing visibility, providing no extra privacy, and making it harder to get in seems kinda like someone making something for aesthetic instead of practicality, lol.
It looks as cold as Hell in there. With everything so loosely secured I can’t imagine all the noise (and the damage) from all that shit bouncing around while driving. It’s a pretty picture while still, but lacks any practicality for actual use.
I think it looks great. Fun project. Looking to do the same. How did you secure the framing of the door and front wall? Did you screw into the truck bed? Definitely going to make something similar. Thanks. Love that you involve your kids. Thanks again.
Nice. But I'd suggest you make the door a slide instead of a swing as a safety. In case for some reason some creep shuts the tailgate on you. You would be trapped.
Great observation, and suggestion! That issue was brought up a while back, so I lock the tailgate to my truck with a chain, so it can’t be shut.
Or just throw it 2 x 4 across it when you’re driving
For once not just someone trying to act more experienced than the next person and actually pointing out good advice
@@Endlessoutdooradventuressadly we have to think this way.
I had a quick question…. Was that a Mr.Coffee up on the shelf there??😅👍🏼
I was thinking the same thing about someone shutting the tailgate, glad to know OP also planned for that
So cozy and beautiful ❤️
Thanks!!
Aww, so cute and cosy 🥰💜
Thanks!!
Love the sign on the door and the campfire pillow. And the whole thing, too, of course. :-)
Thank you!
Perfect
Great job! Love it!✌🏽💕
I could totally see myself taking a year break from work and towing my boat all over the country and living in this
Only a year?
Super cute 😊
Thanks!
❤❤❤ it's so cute! I friggin love it
Thanks!
Super cool !
That's so cool!

Show us , sounds nice
Nice!
Love this! Great job.
Thanks!
I love it!
Lovely! thanks for sharing, I'm thinking of what to do for more comfy camping in the spring.
Thank you! Do it!
How cool. ❤
Nice!👍😁
I miss my camper tops now 😊
That’s so cool!!! 😎 ❤
Thanks!
This is cute as a button and practical, too! 🏕️
Thanks!
That is the coziest looking bed I’ve ever seen
It’s pretty comfy!
Yep i could stay there while fishing cross-country !
Love it ❤ 🇦🇺
Thanks, Sandra!!
I would of made the 2 sections next to the drawer pull out drawers too.
Thanks Perry for your two cents worth.
@jimbeekman4863 Just a better way of doing it.
@jimbeekman4863 No problem I will be here all week.
They would a lot smaller because of the wheel wells.
@@ArtyCalistro Any storage in a small space is good storage.
The Shaggin Wagon!
Nice WORK and i may do something
Similar. 8ft with a Cap on a F250.
Cheers Amigo !
Shaggin wagon.. 😂😂😂 .
Thanks! That would be pretty awesome!
Love it ❤❤❤❤❤good idea
Thank you! 😊
Absolutely love it! 💝 God bless! 🙏🏾😁
Thanks!!
Does it stay warm?
looks so comfy - can you get in/out through the inner window (for emergency purposes, I mean)
Love it!

super fun being claustrophobic with no windows😅😅😅
sweet ❤
This is so cute.
Thanks!
I like how you used the cap and built a door panel, rather than a whole camper build. I can try this on my Ranger.
Yeah, it works great. I actually have a truck camper, however I hate how big/heavy it is. Horrible gas mileage and a lot of wear on my truck. That’s why I decided to just go this route. Thanks for watching!
Warm,safe and dry.
What more do you want?
The entrance door is kinda neat.. it's the first truck camper build, i've seen like that...
Thanks for watching!😊
Why is it open above the door? A whole gap from left to right. Why?
Airflow. It can be covered during cold months.
all those pots n pans on the truck bed must be so loud while driving lol
I like that. Nice work.
Thanks!
Looks very cozy to me. I want one.😂❤
It’s very cozy!! Thanks for watching!!
Nice!
really nice job man. Usually I don't like "creative" stuff but this is awesome.
I appreciate it!
Nice 👍
Thanks!
Its really all you need. Cook on the fire, shower at campgroundssleep.
Exactly! I even have an electric stove that I put on the tailgate, and do a lot of my cooking that way. Thanks for watching!
Love it ❤
Thanks! ☺️
Looks amazing but i can already feel my head smacking that roof.
lol it happens
You should have put thin carpet on top or an air exhaust cuz you’re gonna have condensation like crazy
Makes me smile
Thanks for watching!!
This is so cute! I'd only be concerned if it rains, that water would seep in through the liner grooves on the tailgate.
also cold air insulation wise
Nice 👍🏼
Thanks!

@ oh yea duh, that beats a saw then lol. Dont know why I didn’t think of that.

Nice job. Im curious how you keep the rain that pools in the liner grooves from getting inside
She needs a sky-light. Otherwise, really cool!
Agree!
Que hermoso te quedó ❤
Thanks!

Cool! Do you ever need more ventilation or a potty?
They use adult diapers maybe
Yeah I feel like I would want to cut some holes and put some mesh windows, obviously not enough to see inside.
A potty in the woods? 😂
Woot! It's super cool, just the idea I was looking for. Thanks for the post.
Thanks for watching!
Mattress?
Could be interested to see more on this, I’ve been converting mine slowly.
There’s a more detailed version on my page
Best one yet
Thanks, Danny. I appreciate it!
next time I get an old truck bed trailer, I can do this.
I love it
Thanks! ☺️
Sweet ….!!!
Thanks for watching!
nice!!
Thanks!
So how comfortable is the mattress?
Who gives a fuck
Such small cabins always need top ventilation to sleep in it comfortably.
Thanks for the tip! We try to make sure there is plenty of airflow.
Monsieur nature love you Chanel of nature i subcribe to you Chanel thanks ❤
Thanks!
Needs a panoramic top for a more open feel
That would be awesome!
😂😂That is Awesome 🎉
Thanks! ☺️
Where do you put your firewood?
I’m always pulling a boat, so I have plenty of space. If you don’t have a boat, I’m sure you could figure out a way to haul firewood.
yea if you're 6 inches tall
Totally
@@Endlessoutdooradventures its cute though
Thats neat
Thanks!

Do you have a video on how you built it?
Go to my videos on my page and you will find it. Thanks for watching!!
Its like recessed back inside the cap isnt it?
Not too sure I understand the question.
How did you insulate the ceiling?
It’s not insulated
What’s on the right side of the video?? I have too many questions
Nice
Lovely. Insulated?
Not insulated, however I’m sure you could!
Its a car. What do you think
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! ☺️
Why do I wanna live in that
I don’t blame you!
You’ve got pans, but no stove?
I wonder how’s the flooring gonna be when it is raining.
I typically camp when it’s nice, however I’m sure it would take in some water.
Very nice!🤙🏴🪶💚🔥

Maybe
Why'd you name your daughter Sierra?
Because she was conceived in the back of my pickup.
Where do clothes go?
That looks like a nightmare to sleep in. I don't see any ventilation.
What, do you keep your dolls in there?
Yes! Made it just for them!
Much better to have an 8ft bed!
Agree
All that stuff will end up all over the place.
Looks like a mosquito trap

Well… it’s not like I’m driving around with everything on top of the shelf. That would be silly.
Must be nice to be 4ft tall.
Cute , can you sit up .?
