dimitriid That's a big aspect to Talk About Games. I've wanted to get more into PC gaming for a while. Also, people often ask us to review PC games. Since Ryan is familiar with that world, I figured he'd be perfect to show me cool games like this one and bring the PC element to Cinemassacre. - Mike
Wow, Well done Mike and the Cinemassacre team for getting these videos out so quickly! This series has been really enjoyable and i'm loving the unconventional games you are choosing. The editing and visual aids are really well done too.
It's pretty refreshing to see Ryan and Mike venture out into the realm of PC and other platforms. I'd like to see James sit-in on one of these types of games. Regardless, I'm looking forward to more.
It's a pretty cool game conceptually, but a little dated. Ryan should show you some of the games he cited in the video. Maybe do videos about it them. This could be fun ! Keep on going you guys !
I played the Drizzt one from the same series as Wrath and it was ok but I found myself wishing there was more depth to it like more items and gear to use rather than using the characters skills and feats for attacks
I still play D&D 3.5 with my friends frequently and games like this and the Knights of Paper and Pen I always thought was pretty fuckin cool to play. Also speaking of Misfits.... ruclips.net/video/DfxrlXdYe9s/видео.html
I really like this series Mike. Disregard the haters. Keep it coming. Also I was wondering if there is a way to send steam gifts so you guys get donated games to play in the future. Steam account or attached email usually works. Thanks.
I've been following this game for months now. It's right up my alley: I love the idea of being the dungeon master instead of being the "player character" for once. Glad it's finally coming out (and just after my birthday no less)!
This is a lot like the Table Top game Boss Master. It's a dungeon-building card game that has actual 8-bit art. Example, a card has an enemy Robobo, who looks exactly like Abobo from Double Dragon. It's pretty fun if you like table top games and old school NES style games.
TEJR69 People are selfish assholes who only want what they want. Or perhaps they feel they are "selling out" for some reason for uploading this video, which is ridiculous.
Sean Gentry Wow thanks! Maybe it will sounds weird, but I just love reading comments like that xD It is like learning something new and I fully get your comment. I must agree that the "Save slots" part was like kinda TIME FILLING for me, like they wanted to put something more into the video and they really didn't know how so maybe they've came up with this... It is just my guess O.o Or, it just felt for me like that. And complaints about something, mabye I will sound kinda stupid for that, but wasn't the whole Angry Video Game Nerd about diarrhea, beer, old game consoles and complaints? :D I'm probably blabling shit because I'm awake like for 48 hours aaaand my English expressions are probably more than diarrhea but hey :D I'm still learning new words every day~
Awesome game and video. Would love to see mods for this game so Mike could draw his own art and put into the game! I also love the editing of this video where you are on screen and in the right corner there is gameplay (framed to where the action is or what you are talking about).
I haven't watched any videos from this series before, but is the tune playing in the background from the game being reviewed? I'm 100% sure it's the music from bard's tale on the nes, so i'm not sure if they use that as a theme in lots of episodes or the game has ripped the soundtrack. Either way it was cool to hear such a great tune.
I can totally agree with you guys. This really should find it's way to the smart phone/tablet/portable devices. As is, this would make a great freebie starter. Then, they could sell a bijillion add-on packs that expand weapons, enemies, map tiles...the works. Add in blu-tooth support so multiple parties could team up and tackle/create new dungeons and do who-knows-what. So much potential, here. I hope it is all eventually realized. The closest I ever came to playing something like this was many years ago as apart of a mIRC dungeon crawler. (That is a chat program that permits bot building on the Internet Relay Chat servers.) Though text, many players could explore the Beta's singular level, build stats, collect RPG items and a few other things. Though, I built a bot to test it out with and it was hilarious how the bot relentlessly ignored the easy stuff and always went suicidal by dashing right for the boss. So, yea...I could easily waste away many hours on a game, just like this.
I really like the new segment "Talk about games". I really love that. But Mike, is the other guy (which name i dont know, sry for that) now part of the cinemassacre cast like you and james, or just an friend?
I want to see you guys play Dokapon Kingdom. That game is an awesome RPG party game, and it'd be great to see James, Mike, Ryan, and Bootsy all rage at each other
Yes! More of this. Love that you talk about indie games, you should try the binding of Isaac rebirth. Ryan and Mike you guys rock and would have loved being your geek friend growing up, playing Penn and paper rpg's.
This is a cool game and has clever concept. I would love it if they would make a game like this, but with more hi-res graphics... to look more like Dungeons & Dragons...
If you like this... Dungeon Keeper. One of my all time favs. As for the art style, it's in the style of DM maps. Do a search for dizzy random dungeon generator for an idea.
If you like this style of gameplay, you might want to look into the deception series. It's a game where you basically set traps to stop bad guys. There's like 4 of them so far, all on various playstation consoles
I don't mean to be That Guy, but the idea of being the dungeon master and being the one to actually create it has been done many, many times before. Dungeon Keeper is the big one.
I mentioned dungeon keeper and dungeon keeper 2 but it ended up on the cutting room floor. I also want to mention that this is a great game for fans of the Munchkin series of card games.
Mike, it's not really a new idea. Have you ever heard of Dungeon Keeper? You get to be the Dungeon Keeper where you create a dungeon and you are the Master of all sorts of evil monsters. I'm sure you'll love that game, it was made by Bullfrog. :)
Ian Ni I know! I mentioned it but it didn't make it in the video. If you're looking for more Dungeon Keeper-esque fun there is the spiritual successor War For The Overworld.

This game is $14.99 (£10.99) on Steam for anyone curious :) *The 'Deluxe Edition' is a couple dollars more*
i usually define nerds as something like a scientist, an inventor, mathematicians and engineers. while enthusiasts and fan boys who are into toys, comics, video games, and some such as geeks example: Nerds: Professor Frinks (The Simpsons) Geeks: Comic Book Guy (The Simpsons)
Sometimes with certain games, especially Mario RPG, I would save two separate files when I saved because the game would randomly erase a save here or there.
To Ryan, when you discussed about not "saving" items when going to a new dungeon.. How can you keep something if you die? Because mostly as you played, you died and had to start over. And your reference to Darkest Dungeon, if your character dies, it's gone forever, you're not saving his armor and weapons.
My FF3 (SNES) maxed out save is still there.Had to stack that Vigor, Speed, and Magic Power levelling up on them, too. Forever chasing the General Leo dragon, lol.
Mike talking about only needing one save file, he must have not had brothers like me when he was a kid :P words of an only child? Three save files were key when you had other siblings who wanted to have their own file, so I do think it serves a purpose.
It's interesting how Mike wishes he had nerdy friends growing up. I think James has expressed similar feelings in other videos (maybe a couple of the Board James episodes.)
For those who complain about why James isn't in the video, you all do realize James is married and has a child, right? He still makes & appears in videos, but he has other duties as well. And Ryan isn't that bad. He's the site administrator, and he's into nerd culture. I think he deserves to be in the videos. Anyways, I would like to see the cinemassacre crew play halo over lan. Maybe you all against TGWTG? ;)
Pika craft33 Wrath of Ashardalon There are two other games in the series of that type of D&D board game as well. Castle Ravenloft and The Legend of Drizzt both use the same system and can be combined with it.
Every time I see this game, I say it myself... This should be on tablets. Love the concept, but it should be portable for sure. So much money could be made if they did.
Mike: "You only need one (save slot) but they give you three."
*Someone is an only child, I see.*
The SilentCaay Channel Hahah, nice one :D
The SilentCaay Channel he actually has a sister
BuzzKill
She must not play video games then. =P
The SilentCaay Channel Honestly, I was an only child (of sorts) as well.
I have a brother who's 3 years older than me so games with only one save slot were hell while we were growing up. :D
Woah 2 PC games in a row? I approve of this Mike, keep exploring PC gaming, the good the bad and the ugly.
dimitriid aren't bad and ugly the same. I mean I get the reference but
dimitriid That's a big aspect to Talk About Games. I've wanted to get more into PC gaming for a while. Also, people often ask us to review PC games. Since Ryan is familiar with that world, I figured he'd be perfect to show me cool games like this one and bring the PC element to Cinemassacre.

Cinemassacre you're awesome
CinemassacreBut consoles will always be the best!
CinemassacreBut consoles will always be the best!
Wow, Well done Mike and the Cinemassacre team for getting these videos out so quickly!
This series has been really enjoyable and i'm loving the unconventional games you are choosing. The editing and visual aids are really well done too.
Aaron Dreyer Thanks for the kind words about the editing! Had to sneak the TMNT Rat King in there ;)
- Mike
Great show do more! Also love that this is not a generic "let's play" RUclips videos.
Mike- You really should help design a game! Your Mario Paint episode still blows my mind!
If that blew your mind wait until he shows you his huge SCHLONG
Zombeek Dragmire He's still stuck in the past, you know, when that shit still wasn't funny?
It's pretty refreshing to see Ryan and Mike venture out into the realm of PC and other platforms. I'd like to see James sit-in on one of these types of games. Regardless, I'm looking forward to more.
Oh shit it's Ryan from Screenwave, good to see him on here!
okchief420 New series: "Dumpster Diving with James & Mike"
okchief420 hair.
xxduberryxx I've dumpster dived with AlphaOmegaSin
okchief420 Thanks for stopping by! If you want to see some crazy dumpster diving finds, and other great retro stuff check out his channel.
Happy Birthday James!!! Thanks for many years of awesome movies, videos, and contributions to so many great things! You rock man!
Ryan's a board game buff eh ? Sweet ! I do love Wrath of Ashardalon & Betrayal at House on the Hill as well !
Andromedax01 I think my favorite board game of all time has to be Key To The Kingdom. So epic!
- Mike
It's a pretty cool game conceptually, but a little dated. Ryan should show you some of the games he cited in the video. Maybe do videos about it them. This could be fun ! Keep on going you guys !
Cinemassacre omg yess it was awesome
I played the Drizzt one from the same series as Wrath and it was ok but I found myself wishing there was more depth to it like more items and gear to use rather than using the characters skills and feats for attacks
Oh sure the D&D games arent really deep, but from what I've seen in this video, I think Mike would really enjoy them.
I still play D&D 3.5 with my friends frequently and games like this and the Knights of Paper and Pen I always thought was pretty fuckin cool to play. Also speaking of Misfits....
ruclips.net/video/DfxrlXdYe9s/видео.html
AlphaOmegaSin I thought it was quite funny that he called you a misfit simply because of your style, haha.
AlphaOmegaSin you're cooler then a fucking cooler AlphaOmegaSin
AlphaOmegaSin NYEOWWWWW DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS
AlphaOmegaSin a wild alpha omega sin, lets study his gaming habits :)
AlphaOmegaSin more like Pig Destroyer.
You should try hands of fate, I think you are gonna love and make a video about it
MasterControl90 That game could have been so good if not for questionable combat segments.
13Ruston Indeed.
I really like this series Mike.
Disregard the haters. Keep it coming.
Also I was wondering if there is a way to send steam gifts so you guys get donated games to play in the future.
Steam account or attached email usually works.
Thanks.
If every game had unskippable cut scenes I'd be one of the the happiest gamers
I've been following this game for months now. It's right up my alley: I love the idea of being the dungeon master instead of being the "player character" for once. Glad it's finally coming out (and just after my birthday no less)!
Oh man, Betrayal at house on the hill is one of my favourite tabletop games.
This is a lot like the Table Top game Boss Master. It's a dungeon-building card game that has actual 8-bit art. Example, a card has an enemy Robobo, who looks exactly like Abobo from Double Dragon. It's pretty fun if you like table top games and old school NES style games.
Why is series "Talk About Games" getting so much negative response?
Can someone explain me pl0x? .___.
TEJR69 People are selfish assholes who only want what they want. Or perhaps they feel they are "selling out" for some reason for uploading this video, which is ridiculous.
TEJR69 i think it's because of this guy that at least i never have seen before
Sean Gentry Wow thanks!
Maybe it will sounds weird, but I just love reading comments like that xD
It is like learning something new and I fully get your comment.
I'm probably blabling shit because I'm awake like for 48 hours aaaand my English expressions are probably more than diarrhea but hey :D I'm still learning new words every day~
Wait? Which "splatoon" episode? I didn't see that nor I can find it...
ps: found it on another channel with only 50 views... o.0
Either way it was cool to hear such a great tune.
Loftus You are right sir!
Why does everybody give Mike, Bootsy, Alpha, and anyone else who works with cinemassacre so much shit? They all have a vital role for the group.
what a beautiful bromance. i'm so jelly
I didn't even know this game existed before this video. Thank you for this series, I know what to get my roommate now.
Cinemassacre Awesome! I'd love to see you guys review more stuff from steam/GoG et cetera! Love it.
4:02 So how did they manage using The Bard's Tale music in there?
"And then the other type of friends I had were the misfits like Alphaomegasin"
SHOTS FIRED
More of these type of videos please
Looks like a really fun game actually. Thanks for the video as always.
Ryan has a great sense of subtle humor. Also Frot, lol.
I could swear Mike, Ryan and James blaze it up before they do some of these videos. 420
I can totally agree with you guys. This really should find it's way to the smart phone/tablet/portable devices. As is, this would make a great freebie starter. I enjoy Mike & Ryan's videos :)
0:08 Their logo in the top right is clearly the OpTic Gaming logo just flipped & two G's.
Betrayal in House on the Hill is pretty fun. I remember playing a few rounds of that at college. Lotsa replay value there.
have you guys played Don't Starve? i'd like to see a Talk About Games episode with that.
Seems like a cool game.
Thanks for the video
I really like the new segment "Talk about games". I really love that. But Mike, is the other guy (which name i dont know, sry for that) now part of the cinemassacre cast like you and james, or just an friend?
culwin oh ok so hes the guy "Behind the scene" ^^ thanks for that info mate :) Didnt know that before :)
Great video guys!
Ryan and Mike you guys rock and would have loved being your geek friend growing up, playing Penn and paper rpg's.
i would of liked to see them play more of this
Great video, and fuck all those dislikes. Also, a dislike means nothing if there's no constructive feedback about why the video it's bad.
This is a cool game and has clever concept. I would love it if they would make a game like this, but with more hi-res graphics... to look more like Dungeons & Dragons...
It's Mike! ...And that other guy!
I just bought it half an hour ago, waiting for the release. Thx for the early review
I know this is pretty unrelated to the video but...Happy Birthday, James, you silly goose.
How old he be?
RuggedALAN 35, I think
If you like this... Dungeon Keeper. One of my all time favs.
As for the art style, it's in the style of DM maps. Do a search for dizzy random dungeon generator for an idea.
I miss the times when James made videos :(
Hey buddy, screw you. You want to talk crap? Say it to my face instead of over a fricking RUclips comment system? Damn dude it's called an opinion
I think we got off on the wrong foot. Let's just be allowed to have our own opinions and move on, alright?
Erick Latrance So salty. Lmao
Nobody cares about your stupid little opinion, you little bitch.
pre-purchased this on Steam! can't wait to play this game :)
You guys should do King's Quest next. That is a retro PC game.
Game looks interesting and I totally agree with Mike towards the end.
If you like this style of gameplay, you might want to look into the deception series. It's a game where you basically set traps to stop bad guys. There's like 4 of them so far, all on various playstation consoles
Mike never too late to learn to play and create your own rpg adventure on tabletop!
Happy Birthday James
Can u review Shrek extra large for the gamecube on AVGN
No????????????? Ive never reported someone...
I feel like the Nerd while playing Destiny Taken King during the level 38 mission with that Hydra. Already broke one headset
"I'd love to be doing this with my finger instead of mouse and keyboard."
Yeah..I think that every single day.
This game really stuck out at PAX East to me and my friends. Lovely got a mouse pad from them as a reminder to buy it whenever it hits steam!
Speaking of Guild of Dungeoneering have you checked out Hand of Fate on Steam? Sort of similar yet different at the same time.
***** I had the opportunity to play Hand of Fate at Pax one year. It's cool.
Mike, for save slots, they're really for multiple people. Anyone with a few siblings know the slots fill up fast.
It looks like a cute game. I'll probably check it out, once it hits a super low steam sale price.
Ryan Schott all right then cheers ryan
Mike, it's not really a new idea. Have you ever heard of Dungeon Keeper? You get to be the Dungeon Keeper where you create a dungeon and you are the Master of all sorts of evil monsters.
I'm sure you'll love that game, it was made by Bullfrog. :)

i usually define nerds as something like a scientist, an inventor, mathematicians and engineers.
while enthusiasts and fan boys who are into toys, comics, video games, and some such as geeks
example:
Nerds: Professor Frinks (The Simpsons)
Geeks: Comic Book Guy (The Simpsons)
Played this game at EGX Rezzed, it was freaking awesome! Also got a guild of dungeoneering tshirt for beating their demo, which was pretty neat.
I never understood card games on consoles. Guess I will go back to my Windows Solitaire.
And your reference to Darkest Dungeon, if your character dies, it's gone forever, you're not saving his armor and weapons.
dnd nerd/game nerd/magic the gathering nerd most of my friends were the same though a good chunk of these were also pot heads so a big happy family
Nice video as usual.
You should try a game called "Card Hunter." It's in this same kind of style but can be played against the computer or other people.
what is samwell tarly doing there?
if you guys havent heard (you probably have) there is a really good game called hand of fate that is JUST LIKE this
My FF3 (SNES) maxed out save is still there.Had to stack that Vigor, Speed, and Magic Power levelling up on them, too. Forever chasing the General Leo dragon, lol.
the artwork in this game reminds me of kingdom of loathing.
Can you play it in Window Mode?
5:30 Whats with the sudden valleyspeak accent, mike?
When the Steam controller comes out you guys should review it. It's very weird.
Imagine if Mike got a girl into his house and sees all those He-Man figures?
Mike talking about only needing one save file, he must have not had brothers like me when he was a kid :P words of an only child?
Three save files were key when you had other siblings who wanted to have their own file, so I do think it serves a purpose.
It's interesting how Mike wishes he had nerdy friends growing up. I think James has expressed similar feelings in other videos (maybe a couple of the Board James episodes.)
I would buy this on android if it gets ported. It is a pretty imaginative game and strikes at the nerd chord perfectly
Fog of war is in almost every RTS
I do the Conan nerd voice all the time also.
Your never gonna catch me. better luck next year!!!
Starting down the dark path of PC gaming. Finally you can start thinking about taking advantage of that 4k tv you own. =D With the proper hardware.
Maybe you all against TGWTG? ;)
New Runescape content? They finally added a guild for dungeoneering?
OwenGTA A lot of this game is ripped off of runescape.
OwenGTA You girls are lame.
ok Mike, we get it, you had friends when you were a kid. :p
AlphaOmegaSin a "Misfit of Science." Look it up. Love that guy!
So is James still part of this channel
The multiple saves slots are for a family to play not one person...
whats the name of the game he says after betrayal on the house on the hill?
Pika craft33 Wrath of Ashardalon There are two other games in the series of that type of D&D board game as well. Castle Ravenloft and The Legend of Drizzt both use the same system and can be combined with it.
thanks
I like the speeches and I think this game is awesome
Hmm, I could program a game like this, and draw it, and do the sound effects. I can't do music on my own, though. :)
This reminds me of Dungeon Keeper 2 ... I say version 2 because I never owned or played the original.
Welcome to the pc master race
Mike is right, war craft 2 is the shit. I wish blizzard would make an old school rts war craft again
The art style reminds me of The Kingdom of Loathing
Every time I see this game, I say it myself... This should be on tablets. Love the concept, but it should be portable for sure. So much money could be made if they did.
