  • In addition to being a co-founder of Justice Choir as well as a co-editor of the Justice Choir Songbook (justicechoir.org), Ahmed Anzaldúa is Director of Music Ministries at Unity-Unitarian in St. Paul and the founder and director of Border CrosSing Choir (bordercrossingmn.org). Normally, Border Crossing’s mission is “to integrate historically-segregated audiences and musicians through the performance of choral music,” but since the murder of George Floyd they’ve been on the front lines of relief work in South Minneapolis. We (Louis and Dan) highly recommend that you consider making a donation to Border Crossing to support their innovative, equity-oriented musical programming and their crucial work in local communities.
During our interview, Ahmed raised important points about the strengths and challenges of musicking in Minneapolis, and he highlighted his favorite musical experience during his time in the city.
