I share to you in this video the way I feed my kois. If you have not started weighting the amount of food you give your kois daily then now is a good time to start. Knowing the exact amount of food you give has a lot of useful benefits. Primarily it is a basic diet plan for the koi and the amount of food you give will change as they grow bigger.
A spread out feeding schedule is also vital for this will help avoid the kois from being over fed. This method of feeding is known by many fish keepers who apply the same logic in growing their fishes.

First time on loving it.
I am a koi enthusiast and have koi ponds.
This is great. Makes sense to measure. I measure my dogs food. Why arent we measuring our koi food.

I didn’t realize you had to feed them this often, I figured twice a day
Hello Chucho, the amount of koi food you feed daily should not change. Let's say you give 20 grams per feeding. And you feed two times a day. In total that's 40 grams daily. In this sample I'd advice you to split the feedings into 10 grams per feeding session and feed it 4 times daily.
So you still give 40 grams a day but you spread the time you give the food to them. From just 2 times a day now you feed 4 times a day with the same amount of koi food.

Koi have no stomachs, the cannot 'hold' food, it passes right through them. There for feed little, but often throughout the day.

@@nasehkarlaranas5468 Yes confident jud Chagois mostly. As a result the shy koi will swim with the Chagoi, feed with the Chagoi, come and approach people with the Chagoi. Really benificial behavior changes.
Then another reason is the Chagoi growth rate, which is expectedly fast from tosai to sansai. For new koi keepers its really fulfilling to see our kois grow bigger and the Chagoi will not disappoint in this aspect.

I cannot comment on the effects on scale color pero in size, I highly suspect lacto pafi helps. But then again, hindi ko ito technically mapatunayan.

How do you calculate the daily food intake of your koi sir?
Hey bro, I actually did it by experience and estimating my daily feedings since they were small.
Then adjusted/added the amounts as they were growing.

That's them last July 2019
My first koi food measuring device I had was the chicken joy gravy container from Jollibee.
Then they got bigger and I used the mash potato container from KFC.
And then now I use the blue ice cream cup you see in my video.
In each feedings the containers where the measurement I took into account.
Plus also the time they take to finish the food.
I believe in the 5 minute rule. So all koi food must be gone in under 5 minutes.
Then there's also the filter side of the feeding issue.
"Feed as much as you're filters can handle." --- have you heard this idea?
I also follow this during the koi tosai days.
At the least I feed them 6 times a day sometimes upto 9 times.
But always measured and taking into account the filter side effects and weather.

Hindi naman bro, yung iba nga yung Lacto Pafi yung parang softener ng koi food nila. May iba kasing koi food napakatigas.
Sa akin naman lumalambot ng bahagya yung Aquamaster pellets dahil sa Lacto Pafi. Ayos lang kahit madami malagay mo.

No calculations involved my friend. As they grew on me I simply increased the amount of food I feed them per day. When they were small I started at just 75 grams.
Right now they are feeding at 450 grams per day and soon I'll have to increase it to 500 grams per day.
How I do it I guess I just really observe them, a lot. Then make a guess by visual observation from the koi movement and how fast they finish one meal. If they finish fast then it's getting closer to increasing the amount once again.

Heya Tempra, it's 5 feet deep, 18 feet long and 8 feet wide. It's been a while I've been asked this I actually am not sure anymore on the dimension.
But it is a 19,000 liters pond that I am certain.

But if you have the time can you measure your pond just the length and the width? Cause I was planning to make a pond and I like the dimension of your pond. How old are they? Did you purchased it small koi?
Right now they are Nisai (2 years old) most f them, some are san sai (three years old).
