I'm not going to fear what I don't know, I am going to trust who I do know.
We can wait in excitement and joy...we can also wait in fear. We fear the dark and might fear death for the same reason: the unknown. We can fear the unknown in the afterlife and we can fear the unknown of our own inner life. God's mercy leads us to a place of trust.

If on Christmas is the day I get to face our Father , i will ask Him to be merciful to me; to forgive me of my we weaknesses and shortcomings so that through His grace I may live with Him in heaven where I will continue to praise Him & pray for my family that in God’s grace they will be in peace that I am now in the arms of my Lord 🙏🏻
Prayers for my dearest friend who has just been diagnosed with Cancer...and my heart is sore but i trust in all God's plans for each of us. Jesus I trust in you ... 🙏

Thank you for this father. This is what I struggle with. That my sin is too grave to be forgiven. My biggest fear is for my soul. I'm scared because of what I've done.
I liked this video. I don't worry about death. I think it's something that God doesn't want us to worry about. We have so many other things God wants us to do.

Good Morning Father Mike !! I truely enjoy your masses. Attending mass was sometimes pennance for me. As a alter boy, i was near petrified . Later in life was told i was a very good server, of which i still do not beleive. So, beleive me when I tell you I ENJOY YOUR MASSES !!!

You are so amazing Father Mike! Yes, we are afraid of the unknown and I fear that every day of my life. I do not know what tomorrow will bring and fear sets in and I live with that fear. Trusting in the Lord and surrendering to him all our fears is the grace that God gives us. His love is everlasting.

Jesus grant me strength. I seem to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders as a single mom, I often face challenges that can seem insurmountable especially with raising two children with special needs. I’m trying to balance everything but Lord I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus hear my prayers.❤️🙏🏾
We here in Augusta, GA just went through the big hurricane this fall. The winds and rain raged all night and many of us were at our windows watching, waiting, and fearing the pitch dark noises and arbor crashes. The sun came up the next morning and we all saw the damage in the light. Oddly enough, it was terrible but we all buckled down to helping the neighbors, starting generators, making breakfast, and clearing tree limbs. The light made everything better; we could see the obstacles facing us.

Thank you Father Mike .. not sure u will be reading this… but you are amazing on getting all God message into sort of layman’s term and especially I am so new.. to Lord Jesus and God and even listening to your podcast … it helps me to try to church more and try to attend mass .. every day and pray more, much more… but I am afraid SO SO afraid that Lord will NOT give me the chance to face Him after all the sins , and some are considered to be mortal sins .. even though it’s made out of ignorance .😢😢

Great homily. I also recommend watching Hamlet starring Mel Gibson. It was very well done and I understand it the best that I ever have. Also it's great to watch on video because you can stop and rewind if you need to hear something again. And one more thing I had no idea that The Lion King is a version of Hamlet. So now I have to watch that again lol

2nd time listening... and i have to conclude that some folks have spent plenty of time in The Dark, have learned that it's a place where we can ALL hide when we need to, and therefore is like a stop light: it's an equalizer. Perhaps growing comfortable with the Dark around you let's you grow more comfortable with the Dark inside you (we all have it, as fallen clay creatures, ... And now, i am recalling your talks of kingsugi, too) -- anyway, i think a lot of Dark Nights of the Soul can make one something akin to 'comfortable' when night falls... Apologies that this wasn't exactly in the spirit of Advent. 🙏💙❣️🕊️

I am led to believe tha Mary was not afraid because she trusted. I tend to believe that not to trust is(would) be a sin Mary was sinless.
Excellent, but do not forget fear is not only the loss of heaven, but also the pains of hell. I would guess 99% of most conversions begin with the fear of the pains of hell. A mentor and teacher of mine, who has gone to heaven a few years ago, told the class that his conversion was that he was thinking to himself, "If God is so good, He wouldn't send me to hell. Then I thought, 'The hell if he wouldn't.'"
But how do I change my fear that God’s mercy is not enough for my past sins into trust in God?
