I am going to attempt to do an Iron Butt challenge on a custom Harley Davidson hard tail chopper. But before I begin, there are problems with the motor bike everywhere !! Iron Butt is an Association that is about supporting advising and rewarding safe long distance riding, I will attempt the "saddle sore"1600ks or 1000 miles in under a 24 hour period, that's if I can get the chopper to even go !

Indian Larry is a guy I think you'd probably relate to mate. He also suffered from life-long psychological problems and chronic loneliness (depression I guess). He once wrote:
"The right bike, the right day, the right road, I just pretty much feel
at one with the universe. When I feel like I don't fit anywhere or I'm
lonely or I'm like all screwed up in the head, I get on my bike and go
for a ride and it's like all of the sudden, I'm fixed."
He was a big wheel in the chopper world, some would say he was the last of the real old-school chopper builders (before all those OCC billet things and the retro hipsters took over). He died when he crashed while standing bolt-upright on his seat, hands out to the side, at 55 years old.
How the fuck can he relate to Indian Larry when he has a tribute bike sitting in his living room with no idea who the fuck Indian Larry is.
The retro hipsters started riding them, is what i think you meant to say.
Danny, you can see Indian Larry and his work on Biker Build-Off, a reality show from the early 2000's. Some may say he might still be alive today had he been wearing a helmet when he had his accident, but he was his own man. A sad loss, R.I.P.

Indian Larry Built his own motors also ,i mean literally, The Heads started out as two blocks of steel, He prided himself on building an indestructible motor. Gone way to soon.
I hope you know how fortunate you are to have a man with the skillset like Colin going over your bike…not to mention being a machinist!

12lb in the rear tire, and a good kidney belt. I did Sydney to Melb on a rigid Triumph Bonny in 1979 with an 8 over springer when I was a 19 year old nutter...all in the rain, with no goggles. Ahhh, the good ole days...good luck young fella!

Take a few tools. I did 5 hours (only 200 miles) on my rigid Shovel last summer and was very pleased to get off it and soak in the tub. Really looking forward to the next episode-Good luck! PS think the 16psi advice spot on! 👍😎

I certainly don't claim to be the best judge of character, but Col certainly seems to be a top notch gentleman.
Collin is the best!! I rode a rigid for years, shovelhead, being a S&S motor you should have no problem, run 6th gear and relax, avoid anything on the road larger than a cigaret butt, you'll thank me later, good luck!!

Throw an Airhawk seat on it and have at it. Finished an IronButt (SS1000, on a Super Tenere 1200) a few months ago. Glad I did it. Good luck!

Lets put it this way. Im not sure but i believe i would rather ride my 61 pan(year not c. i.) a thousand miles before I'd ride my 2003 dyna twinkie. The pan had a wishbone frame, foot clutch, 12 inch apes an only a rear brake. Hardtails ain't as bad a every body who don't own one says they are.

I did the saddlesore two years ago on Fathers Day riding a '19 Softail Slim.
Finished it in 21 and half hours taking half hour breaks at fuel up except for one, I took a full hour about half way through.
Just stating the obvious but we all need a mechanic like Col.

It’s like a Jag. I got told once if it’s not leaking they send it back to be fixed so it leaks oil.
