RUclips recommended your video to me completely out of the blue (perhaps linking through warhammer in the mighty algorithm) but having absolutely zero exposure to modelling and diaramas at all I ask watched the entire thing, and learnt a lot from it too! Being military myself though I kind of appreciate the different sizes for building a squad. I've operated with guys ranging from 5ft up to 6ft10 so mixing the different sub scales seems like the most realistic option in practice to me, no squad is made up entirely of 5ft9 in height guys 👍
Ha, ha, ha, very interesting class profesor Aldo. I'm in the scale 1/35 but, in the last years I have a lot of troops in 1/72 (I hope you don't to consider a sacrilege) principal for the militar vehicles and the space in my tiny apartment. Greetings from this part of the world.
Fabulous presentation once again Christian. 1.32 is my personal favourite but I also do have time foe all the others too.I learned a long time ago that many soldiers cant be displayed alongside each other as the difference is too much.If only everyone stuck to proper 1.32.

Another great episode, Christian! I have never been a fan of the smaller Airfix figures, but I was glad to get them when I found them many years ago and, over time, come to accept them.
Awesome class, Professor PG! I agree wholeheartedly that 1/35th is the panty-waist, weakling runt of the 1/32 toy soldier family. Some years ago I glued together a 1/35 WW2 German soldier on horseback. I wrapped it up in tissue, encased that in a box, and put the box away in a quiet corner of the house. Five years later, I opened the box to find four separated chunks of brittle plastic. I'll take rugged, durable, manly 1/32nd dudes over those frail, namby-pamby 1/35ths every day of the school year. Will I get detention if I kick sand in their faces?
Thanks prof, nice lessons, I only would add that 1:32 is the only natural scale that exist... It means that if you take 1:1 scale and you divide it on half for 5 times you have a 1:32 scale (id est: 1:1 > 1:2 > 1:4 > 1:8 > 1:16 > 1:32) so the other scales are totally arbitrary... Tamiya introduce 1:35 in his tanks just to fit in an electrical motor, other scales derives from reduce feet to inch... so totally artificial scales... Long live to 1:32...
Britains started the 54mm toy soldier, it is their scale, but its not a scale. Therefore Britians is the Gold standard, the only standard. 54mm is based on a "Railway gauge" not a scale. 1/35th is Tamiya scale. The diffeence between a figure 54mm tall to one 52mm tall is like the difference between a man 5'8" and a man 5'10"
I really like your classe. You make laugh. And yes you're a very assertiva teatcher. 1/72 it's a very nice scale. The scale of the big batles and Giant armies.
@@ThePlasticGeneral Think I got mine in the late 50's (still have them). They have the Tim Mee logo under the base. Kneeling guys do not have bases and the crawling guy has a plain rifle. Just curious, how do collectors like yourself feel about those Tim Mee guys? To me, they are the best!
Some of those metal 1/30 metal guys are actually 1/28 and next to 1/32 they look like 7+ foot (2.2 m+) tall giants. Doesn’t expeditionary force is 60mm not 1/32 scale.
Could 1/56 scale work or at least look good compared to 1/32 scale? Because I looking for some Japanese tanks but I don't have a lot of money but found some 1/56 scale Japanese tanks.
Man, i love 1/72. It's The best way of having a big batle in a small space and it's also cheaper and easy to find. But the evil scale its 1/35. Lol just joking. I'll still work in 1/72. Assembling and painting kits and figures. Love 1/32 scale too.
Thanks professor !!😂 loved the episode, and the no need homework ,too!!

This was very educational but funny. Bravo 👏
Thank you Marcus! I'm going to be doing more of those in-between formal episodes. I'm glad you liked it!
It had to be said and you are the perfect one to say it! Great episode. Lots of fun.
Someone had to say it!
Opinions on the regular toy soldiers? Usually being a green or tan color. Thanks for the lesson. Really took it to heart!
It's a subject that's never been formally talked about like an elephant in the room.
You are correct professor, airfix multipose is the gold standard, that is an unassailable truth!
Thank you for seeing the science in it, besides Not only am I a General, I'm a PROFESSOR!!
Spectacular session, looking forward to more.
