Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.
You are an absolute artist. You use the finest tools and you recreate beautiful parts on your milling machine. You are willing to go the extra little bit to take a 90 % restored item to it's perfect 100% and more. TySy Tube is an example of someone with a little skill but not much pride. He has copied your Channel in so many ways but he uses cheap substitutions. He does not use a milling machine to polish. Instead he uses a power drill. What you do when you restore paintable items is an example. The watch makes measuring tool that you restored, you filled in the rough metal blemishes before you primed and painted the base. The black finish was beautiful. TySy paints the metal in it's rough form. The details are important and if you look for his restoration of a "GIGANTIC Lighter "you will see what I mean. Also he restored a vintage coffee grinder which I believe you would have made it appear more beautiful than he ever could have. I notice that TySy sent you an item to restore and you made it look beautiful!! I think it was too hard for him and he sent it to you to try to have you fail at its restoration. That's enough of me going on and on. I appreciate your skill and artistry. May you and your loved ones be safe in these Covid-19 times.
If You want to repair that battery pack, replace ALL the cells with high drain cells (with 20/30 A), don't use the cells from laptop batteries, they have 3/5 A (too little). Greetings from Italy!
I really appreciate your attention to detail! Every spring, every surface of connecting parts, every screw, was made to look and perform like new. And it shows. Thank you.
At last! Someone else who leaves that funny foam stuff in their better better tools and equipment! My wife is convinced I’m the only person in the entire world that does it. I can now let her know there are two people in the entire world that do it. Another great restoration, you’re going from strength to strength and it’s always a joy to see you expand your arsenal of tools. You are without doubt one of the channels that really deserves your success. Your videos have a wonderful ASMR quality. Thank you.
*Gear Show's wife* Why did you bring another impact driver, you already have one. *Gear Show* The point different is sound. This Hitachi impact driver is quieter... :D Great
I always waiting for your new video All your video that post on youtube is awesome I give you one like to you Good job. Doesn't work anymore matter. Your restoration any kind machine. You always make it work. This Comments For You !!!
Idk why everyone is commenting bad shit about this, it’s a great restoration and it’s just a tool god damn it. If it breaks he’ll fix it again or buy a new one. It’s not that hard. It’s not like a part from NASA.
Awesome video! I can safely say if I stripped the impact driver down as much as that it would never work again, ha. Nice one for getting it back working better than it was before.
Very Good Job done ! Just few points : Don't forget to clean inside the parts such as springs Don't be stingy with grease : i would put some on electronic part to prevent from rust or oxydization and i would use lithium gease for moving parts a tip : you can use baking soda to clean very well
A cousin gave me a Makita impact driver, TD121. The problem is no battery, no charger so I can't give it a try to see if it works. Any idea??? Love your videos, refreshing, inspiring and relaxing. Thanks a lot!!!
Very nicely done !!! Kuddos to you for having the talent to do these types of restorations. I didn't see one part dropped? Great dexterity. Thanks for sharing your talent and videos, Rodney
Can you please give info on that red long tool box with sockets & etc that you used to open drill. Make & model would be perfect please. Thanks and keep up great work. Love your videos!
I saw the red impact driver and thought.... hmmm... a broken Milwaukee? Then I read "Makita" and thought it was a typo. Then he opend the case and I saw the blue charger. So confused.... haha
Your videos always amaze me. I have no clue how you figure out how to a: take stuff apart and b: get it back together. You're like a wizard. Keep up the great work!
Hey was just wondering if you could do a tutorial on removing and putting back together the anvil on a makita dtd 171 I have a snapped bit stuck in there and it would help a lot thanks
In regards to the battery pack, do NOT use that one cell!! Each LiON battery is good for only so many charge cycles. You stick that old one in with all new ones and the battery pack will fail soon! Its actually cheaper just to buy a new battery pack than to replace the individual cells. A new replacement batt (off brand as Makita doesn't make these batteries anymore) will run you about $50+ shipping. Eight 3.7v 18650's (judging by the wrapper those are Sony VTC3-4) will run you about $72 bucks ($9 x 8). Just buy a replacement battery and stay safe!
The Makita one is better performing but I think the Hitachi will probably last longer. The great difference in noise is due to the hydraulic mechanism of the Hitachi impact driver.

No stupid music, no chit-chat. Just a clever guy working efficiently and machinery sounds. This is therapeutic. Keep up with the good job!
Great video without unnecessary editing and horrible generic background music. Amazing restoration as always!
There's something so relaxing about watching restoration videos from what they start to finish and fixing things rather than throwing them away

Ah yes, last thing, if the circuit is too rusty and doesn't work, You can buy a replacement circuit for little money.
@MUR3O2OO4 Okay, I am hard to find high drain cells here, I just found ICR 18650 cell 1700 mAh 3.7V. Anyway thank you!

There are business man import second hand things from Japan to my city (Phnom Penh). I away go to his shop looking for power tools.

Good work, good tools and super video. 👍
I'll look forward to next one.
Thank you :D
do you think using heatgun on the plastic frame of the drill will restore the gloss and help blend the scratches?
No because most expensive power tools are made of polie glass fiber
If people used their toothbrushes this well on their actual teeth, no one would have a cavity. Ever. Very good work
Excellent rebuild.
I'd buy that hitachi from you. Sounds like the jetsons, my kids would love to help me out more with how quiet it is!
Very good restoration 👍👍👍
I have my dad's old makita impact driver that uses old nikol based batterys. Is there anyway we could work out a restoration?

First time saw a red Makita. So what does does the color red mean as distinguished from the others?
Use some grease to keep the o-ring in place. at 14:05 .
