- Hey, join me on my first adventure of 2022… moving to Whistler, British Columbia. Take a look at what living in Whistler Staff Accommodation is like. So far, so good.

Takes me back. Worked at the Fairmont back in 2002. Lived in staff housing. I got lucky. I had the bunk bed room but never had to share the room.
Hi! I got a job at the Fairmont in their gold lounge starting in Dec, what was it like for you working there? I also managed to get staff housing so I'm happy about that
@@lexi4956 I was 19 at the time and hand a lot of fun. I ended up more in the clubs than the slopes. I worked in housekeeping. Staff housing was like living in a college dorm. Our floor had a party in the hallways and we brought our couches out for chilling.
@@derekyoung8312 that sounds like so much fun, I'm so excited for it
@@lexi4956 enjoy and have fun working and meeting people around the globe. Cheers.
Coming to whistler this June
I’m moving to whistler on Wednesday:)
Yay! Welcome! Whatcha doing here?
Hey which staff accom are you in!
How is whistler treating you?? I arrived in November. You definitely got the nicer accommodation! Haha
Hi! Whistler has been really good! Yes I got SO lucky with accommodation! Where are you from?
@@ashtynlynn8637 I'm from the UK 😊 I got Westside Accommodation. Loving it out here though. Don't want to go back 😂
@@travelwithkiesco9005 Well, welcome to Canada! Loved your Whistler video!
@@ashtynlynn8637 thanks, dropping a sub as It will be cool to see what you get up to while here!
@@travelwithkiesco9005 I subbed too! :)
Really great video. I'm thinking of doing this and working as a server, travelling from the UK - possibly going through a company named BUNAC to help support me. When getting a job, do you have a choice between getting shared and solo accommodation?
Hey Jake! I’m sorry I have only noticed all these comments now! Thanks for your question! I haven’t heard of BUNAC personally so I’m not sure the process with that company! But depending on where you get the job they can assist in finding housing, such as Fairmont or Vail! Otherwise at other jobs/companies ya gotta figure out housing for yourself theres Facebook groups like “Whistler Housing” and such. Message me on Instagram if you have more questions @ashtynmurphh!
did you go through bunac?
@@emxlyyybxnn1040 I did! I actually postponed my trip and I'm now leaving in 3 days for 2 years. BUNAC and their sister company SWAP have been most helpful. I couldn't have done it without them.
@@jakesr98hi! Im doing the same thing with BUNAC this November, I was wondering what you did about accommodation. I’ve got a job at 4 seasons and they can put me in the onsite accommodation, or there’s also offsite accommodation which isn’t guaranteed and more expensive, but I feel like it’s a lot more sociable which I want, what do you end up doing? And any tips?!
Hello, I've just gotten a job over there (Im from Australia), and not 100% sure what to do about housing? Where do I start?
I just got a job with housing & usually it’s included with your on-boarding emails under employee housing - but I received a call prior to getting that info to go over travel info etc. that’s just my experience so far. I hope you got help or this helped! If not, call your new employer! I’m sure they’d be happy to help you!
Hey I’m also from australia and wanting to work at whistler, how hard was it for you to get a job coming from overseas?
Is there pet friendly staff accommodation?
When did you have to apply for a job with blackcombe and accomodation? Coming over from the UK and looking to work and live in staff housing for next winter season :)
Hey Emily!! I applied for a job at the hotel I work at about a month before coming. I applied early/mid December and arrived January 4! My job is great since they help you with staff housing, and they put you in a room that is associated with them. However some jobs out here don’t have staff accomodations, so I would be looking on Facebook pages like “whistler housing crisis” or “whistler housing” about 2-3 months before. There is a housing crisis here so I would be more worried about getting housing than a job. Companies are under staffed like crazy here at the moment, you can probably find a job no problem!
Feel free to message me on Instagram if you have any more questions! @ashtynmurphh !
are you going to live there permanently? i'd love to know more since i also want to live there
Wonderful ❣️ video
Hey what camera did you use to film this?
Is this Glacier accomodation?
How much for the rent ? Thanks
They accept overseas applicants already?
Is that your own room or did someone else sleep below you ?
How much was rent ?
Hey I’m from Ontario I’m coming for the end of July. 1st time coming to Whistler to work and live in staff accommodations. Can we chat some more I definitely have some questions Id love to see if you can answer them!
Hey Shawn! Absolutely! Message me on Insta @ashtynmurphh for more in depth answers! ☺️
which housing is this? Westside?
Which hotel was this at?
How is your new location?
Hey! Thanks for your comment! I liked it! Whistler was great but not 100% for me! I will make a video about the pros and cons soon!
Hi! Already subscribed your YT account, If you don’t mind, I would like to know how much does it cost you? Is that a 2 bedroom unit?
Hey! Mine was a 2 bedroom unit! Message me on insta @ashtynmurphh for pricing & details!☺️
I lived in West side staff housing first year then moved to glacier staff housing 2nd year for a couple of years in the overlord building but they were definitely not as nice as your updated one. Do you share a room or get your own?
I share a room! I had a bunk bed with my roomie and then in the same apartment there was a second bedroom with another bedroom. I had two housemates, and I shared my bedroom with one and the other girl had the other room to herself! We were waiting on a fourth housemate but she never came!
@@ashtynlynn8637 i shared a room at west side with a lot of people, probable more than 8 but they didn't all sleep there, one guy did though, a guy named tom k..., he climbed up my balcony 2nd floor many times but he always brought weed so he got to use the other room to himeself, awsome skiier , his sister was also a great instructor, good times, that was around 2007.
Also stayed at building 2, had some nice friends i used to hang with in Brio staff, I always enjoy a Brio beer from Ice Land. Good times, wish you well, from Surrey B.C.
@@ashtynlynn8637 Is your housing in this video in the Brio building?? I'm filling out my staff housing now and I really want this one!!
@@ryliek6832 hey! Mine wasn’t in Brio. I was on Glacier Lane staff housing!
Hi hello how are you madam.
I’m great Thankyou! How are you?
