They did, this is the BSPRM (Battlestations Pacifc: Remastered Mod) And was released this year, not hard to install and worth it entirely. Has the content of both BSM and BSP alongside new mod-made missions, aircraft, ships, maps and new battles in skirmish.
The fact that the Yamato class's supposed successor, the Shikishima class, participated in this grand turning point in the alternate-japanese history, makes this all the more legendary
Which is the doom part of irl unlike the grandaughter of musolini being a diva in Japan, shinano with lack of polishment, hurried etc. Got torp, the first to implement CV based air superiority yet again succumb to the gigantism deppkopfness of BB. Imagine Nikolai Tesla actually renown in alt history but goes crazy and ditch the lightning travo for coal industry or sumthing
The first batch (Yamato, Musashi and Shinano) would receive their upgrade to 51cm in 1945~1946 if the war had gone well for Japan, the later 4 ships would have "from factory" the 51cm guns.
Shikishima wasn't the given name though, The ship was called the A 150 class battleship. As no ships were built I doubt it ever got a name. but I guess Wargaming needed a cool name.
I tried to invade New England as the Third Reich in HOI4. I took Iceland as an unsinkable aircraft carrier. My fleet was superior to anything the US had, both in Carriers and Battleships. The only problem was, that I couldn't establish air superiority, despite fighter bases in Bermuda, Iceland and the Azores (for strategic bombers mainly). Thus, my invasion via the St. Lorenz Strait failed miserably. I had to invade Cuba and staged an invasion in Louisina, where my Panzer armies commanded by Rommel and Von Manstein pushed all the way through Philly.
I've done the perfect axis victory run before. Well kinda. I took Britain by 1943. America wasn't in the war I guess because FDR didn't win in that universe. So I built up my navy just enough to flatten the RN in 41-43. I had pretty much cut their convoy lines off with u boats. Russia was also being invaded at the time. Eventually Japan started invading Russia from their side so Russia surrendered in 1943. My original plan was to invade America from the east and work my way to Texas, then surround New York and Washington and wait for Japan to invade from the west (which they did) and catch up. I ended up invading from Canada. I made a lot of goofs back then. I'm currently trying to replicate that run again and do it better. I think I even ended up nuking America before they surrendered. It was a lot of fun back then. I remember not knowing how the game worked because I was still new but knew just enough. A lot of good memories.
Ever since I was a kid, this has always been one of my favorite games. I’m glad to see people are still paying attention to it and making their own content. Hopefully someday we will get another game like this one, it’s a great concept and I wish there were more like it
Battlestations: Pacific - Axis Victory Timeline Missions Battle Of Mers-El-Kébir (Vichy France) Battle Of San Francisco, California (Japan) Battle Of The Atlantic (Germany) Aleutian Islands Campaign (Japan) Unternehmen Seelöwe (Germany) Battle Of The Azores (Germany) Second Battle Of Pearl Harbor (Japan)
Considering how little oil (crude or refined) that Japan had on hand when World War II began, the Imperial Japanese Navy wouldn't waste it on such a faraway campaign. If the IJN was that fixated on one-way/Kamikaze missions with capital ships in World War II, the Allied fleet would be doing that to Tokyo by 1943 or 1944.
The A-150 and the Shikishima are not Yamato class battleships, they are heavier, more armoured, faster and with bigger guns although less of them. The only thing they have in similar is the shape, layout and super structure and even then there are still very important differences like the AA distribution and composition
NGL I think Iowa and Enterprise should be guarding San Fran Harbor, then they send Midway and Montana for the last charge against the invasion fleet as the last boss.
How do you run the game? I thought this game is unplayable anymore because windows live is shutdown, I have this game on steam but can't play it at all

This game seems amazing....BUT...These seems a little far fetched don't you think? The Japanese navy with 3 aircraft carriers 3 destroyers, 2 cruisers, 1 BB and 4 troop transports would not be able to do this much damage. Whats up with the me262's? LOL
