    I used to watch Nancy Zeeman on PBS and learned so many fitting tips...Now I can find some of them on RUclips.

      Oh how I wish I would’ve known about her sewing show on PBS back when I was learning to sew! I’ve heard so many excellent reviews of those old shows… Thanks for the tip. I’m going to look them up on RUclips!

    Thank you for this. When I started sewing I didn't know where to turn. I knew fitting was the most important skill I needed to learn when sewing my own clothes.

    I love the language that you were using in the video. Many of the old fitting books talk about body problem areas and are not body neutral. Hopefully the language of fitting is changing.

      Thanks Janet! I’m glad you noticed - I wanted to remind all of us that it’s not our bodies, it’s the pattern that needs tweaking 🥰

    Hi Sharon, I met you today on the Facebook live video about Enhancing your personal style. I loved it and found you here this evening. I have three of the books you reviewed and many many more. I am sure someday I will get the almost perfect fit I desire. I am looking forward to watching your videos and learning all I can. Hugs

      You have great fitting books also! I think everyone of them can teach you some thing.. Fitting… That’s a lifelong learning curve, isn’t it?

    Love the tshirt you are wearing, gorgeous puff long sleeve and mitred square neckline, I love something with a bit of difference. I’ll try to reinvent it with mixing and matching the patterns I already have.

    Thank you for this! I have most of these books…except for the Palmer/Pletsch book…and I just reserved it at the library! It’s so useful to have more than one resource for fitting in order to cover all of your bases. Just found your channel; looking forward to snooping!

    I’ve got a few of the X for real people books and they’re really good, the tissue fitting method isn’t necessarily convenient for me because I have a lot of PDF patterns I’ve printed at home and I want to keep my purchased patterns as intact as possible but tracing them off is an option. I also have the photo guide one and several others and take them to bed to read 😂
    Great book choices that’ll be useful resources for a lot of people struggling with fit issues, I think the best things to learn are how our bodies differ from the ‘standard’ so we know what to look out for, thanks Sharon!

    • @SharonSews
      @SharonSews  2 года назад

      Hi Rhondda, I agree about the tissue fitting method! Back when the book was first released we didn't have PDF patterns 😀 I trace almost all of my PDF patterns, mainly because I'm usually altering them to fit me! I've taken sewing books to bed with me to read too 😂
