Paterson is such a kindly little movie - impressive that a premise so seemingly simple can be made so affecting. And her poem is surprisingly quite good; I loved the bit about the puddles being dirty mirrors with clouds and buildings inside.
Water falls from the bright air It falls like hair falling across a young girl's shoulders. Water falls making pools in the asphalt Dirty mirrors with clouds and buildings inside It falls on the roof of my house It falls on my mother and on my hair Most people call it rain.
That is an awesome poem. I like the twist at the end. I also really like how the reflections in the puddles are described as a mirror. I imagined a side view mirror laying flat and flush on the ground. Writing is so much fun! -Sam.
