Do they to paint NASCAR with 2K paints (bad for health but high durability) or do they use cheaper paints since the cars are just gonna get banged up anyway and not have to endure decades of UV light like regular cars?

This was a very simple paint scheme, so the color layering for paint was easier. That is my guess, I don't know for sure of course.
Axalta pays them to paint it, cause they're a paint company. All Axalta schemes are painted. Including the old Gordon Axalta cars from years back.
