    Ok...I opened up the Mod. 25. To my surprise the piston seal looked good. Why I had it apart I gave it a nice tune and lube. I put the same piston seal back in and charged the type 6 Vortex to the recommended 100 bar. Just ran a 10 shot group over the chrony and averaged 650 FPS. So it was not the seal but rather an under pressurized Vortex ram. We maintained our accuracy and gained 100 fps. So the Vortex ram may have a very slow leak, time will tell.👍😉

      So glad to see this. I was so impressed with my coil mod 25 that I was so excited to see your take on it. And I was initially disappointed you'd gotten a turd, so to speak. I have since added a Crosman shoulder stock and moderator to make mine a carbine, on top of some air detective-style trigger mods and it's a solid 4.5 ⭐ gun now if you don't mind me taking the liberty to say so. Shoots bugholes at 15 yards with jsb 7.33s going 690+fps. The only negative I can pick out anymore it's on the loud side for an 8fpe gun, even with a moderator. I'm hoping one day to give it a fair tune and see if she'll graduate to a fiver.

      @@edwardmyirski7964 I am not a huge fan of the Vortex pistons. I have had too many of them fail. Overall I prefer the spring pistons. More dependable and many after market options to upgrade or replace the spring. I may entertain the .22 caliber in a spring version if they ever come back in stock. Happy Shooting 👍

      The hatsan rams on all my hatsans failed within one year. My hatsan 135qe in .25 failed within one year with only a tin of pellets through it. Prefer a tuned spring any day of the week. For now just sticking to my hw97k.

    Claiming 700fps and 8lb fpe when in reality they get 560 and just under 5 fpe is ridiculous. They also claim 58lb on the cocking effort. Giving these bloated phoney specs makes me not want to purchase their products and it's a shame because like you said it's a beautiful air gun. I always come to your page when looking to purchase a new gun most in depth and honest reviews out there and love seeing the chrony stats and your marksmanship. Thanks for the work you do.

    • @AirgunDetectives

      Look at my pinned comments. My type 6 gas piston was definitely under charged from the factory. I charged it up to the factory specs of 100 bar. It is now shooting in the 650 fps range. So I would take a chance on a new one. If it doesn't give you the performance out of the box, return it. They are fun little guns. I appreciate you tuning in and thank you for the comments 👍

    Just added a Hatsan Super Tact to my collection ( newer model ) 22 caliber QE and has a spring instead of the Vortex . It comes with more plastic , even the breech and trigger otherwise identical to yours . I mainly shoot left handed , but can switch either way and I find those grips seem to be hard to find at this time. I added a bipod adaptor to the barrel and plan to scope it .

      I have it apart today and will give it a full tune. I think the issue is with the Vortex Gas Ram. It may have a slow leak. I charged it to 100 bar as the max for the Type 6. We'll see if it holds. The piston seal didn't look too bad, a few metal shavings in the chamber, which is typical with Hatsan. I am hoping to gain another 100 fps and maintain that accuracy 🙏 👍😉

      The Hatsan is one of the more complicated to tune because the triggers are such a PITA. Look at the video I did on tuning the Dominator. This Mod 25 takes a 27mm seal just like the Model 95 and a few others. Not the most common piston seal. I will tear into it eventually 👍

      @AirgunDetectives  2 года назад

      @@tpctrash Actually this one was pretty easy. I put in an aftermarket 27mm seal and the compound the seal was made out of was too soft. Lost some velocity. I then reinstalled the stock seal after a hone and lube. I then pressurized the type-6 Vortex ram to the recommended 100 bar. Now I am getting 650 fps. So I could have a slow leak in the gas piston. I think I would purchase one with the spring piston given a choice. They are fun little guns. 👍😉

    I'm conflicted on this gun. I have the spring version and it was great until the PLASTIC frame that holds the trigger group broke. Well over $60 for Hatsan to fix it, they would not sell me the part so it would have involved shipping the gun both ways. Not worth it on a $120 gun. I subsequently bought a model 95 springer and it's okay but pretty unrefined. I'm now of the opinion that Hatsan isn't worth it. The experience actually made me shy away from a Turkish shotgun so maybe it was overall beneficial.
