The Parent Trap - In The Mood

- A scene from the Disney's movie "The Parent Trap" (Juego de Gemelas)
The twins Hallie and Annie set up to their both separated parents check in the same hotel without notice.
We can hear the classic piece of Glenn Miller called "In The Mood", one of my personal favorites.
A fac about this scene is that the actress who play "Vicky", the mother of the wicked girlfriend, was the wicked girlfriend in the 60's original version of "The Parent Trap", her character then, was also called Vicky.
and just for the record, I love the smile of Natasha Richardson... (the mom) ^^
Enjoy.
"Don't do this to me. I'm already seeing double."
- Elizabeth James, 1998. X'D
That made me laugh
This is one cute scene in the movie😘
That line kills me every time it is so funny lmao
Hahaha!!! That funny adult joke we all didn’t really understand as kids. Now we know Liz was saying this because she was drunk. 😵 😆
It's easier seeing double when you're drunk!
Fun fact- Meredith’s mother “aunt Vicky” was the original “Meredith” in the original!
Madame Bijoux And her name was also Vicky in that one too.
And Miss Bliss !!
i think that she is the same vickie from the original movie the one who used to be Engadged to Mitch Everes
Haha it must be a family curse!

That dog was like “there’s been an imposter in the house for months and no one notices but me.”
It hasn't been months.

I don't know how the hell a dad like Nick can be with a woman like Meredith. Hallie doesn't like her. Chessy doesn't like her, and Sammy doesn't like her. If I was Hallie's dad, I would need only one red flag. Nick had three red flags since the beginning.
Andrew Bjork Very true.
Andrew Bjork

Some people view that as red flags, and others "we against the world"
aorikineiko7 elaine hendrix was upset when she learned of natasha Richardson death, while on the set of the parent trap they became good friends and natasha would constantly tell elaine how in love she was with Liam Neeson and how she couldn't live without him

"Would you believe Martin darling I'd never tasted vodka before this trip."
"Could of fooled me Ma'am!!!"

"Could've fooled me ma'am"
Lmao been laughing for 10 minutes
She's drunk!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I love the part with sammy seeing the real hallie lol and he dashes over into the elevator with her, so cute lol

Martin was in the elevator, too!
Caught her scent the moment he entered the lobby ... that's why he was pulling.

I love that part 😂

Dennis Quaid is such a good actor. I just love the look on his face when Nick sees Elizabeth as the elevator door closes
Yeah is priceless, my favorite part
I was about to comment the same thing
I know right?? It's like he's seen a ghost...a ghost he's secretly been in love with for 11 years lmao
And his "oh MAN" when Meredith is out on the lake
Doesn't it remind you of Mitch when he saw Maggie?
"you may call me aunt vicki" lmao!!! i absolutley love that part!!!! i remember being 9 years old and watching that part and laughing for 5 minutes straight. i would go around and say to my mom "you may call me aunt vicki!" hahaha

AHHHHH!
@@martinahedge7489 Very Nice.
I was 7 when I first saw this movie and I laughed so much at the part where the dog almost bites Meredith and Chessy mutters "good doggy" lmao
"Good doggie!".
Obviously, the dog ain't stupid to know that someone hates their Co-Owner(s)
Peter Tran, absolutely! Sammy wasn't stupid, because he could sense that Meredith hated dogs and children!

Natasha should have more credit in acting she looks like a princess 😍
Well she is technically acting royalty
She is perfect acting, I really felt that she was a mom there (she act like my mom did when I was a kid, even on the dummy part when she forgot her purse xD)
She passes away years ago. 😢
And Meredith acts like a modernized, meaner Marilyn Monroe XD those two blondes were fantastic!
@@antithoughtpolice7497 Marilyn Monroe or how about Joanna Barnes?
Never date anyone your dog doesn't trust. They have a much better sense of these things than we do.

I agree
Jess Morgan my little dog hates everyone but me lol if a man earns my baby’s trust he earns mine a little too.
Yep, true fact! Animals know and are very good at reading people. 😉
Good cuz I got the same sense as ur dog
i think so too. she was so charming, beautiful, crazy-funny and talented. the parent trap was the first movie that got me to start watching her films, and i was pleasantly surprised at her versatility as an actress. was looking forward to more of her works, and next thing i knew, she was dead. the world will miss her. Rip nat :(
Xandtha Has it really been seven years? Bloody hell.

I loved when Annie figured out she was drunk. She was horrified it was hilarious!! And Chessy face was priceless!!
Annie commented that she only had 1 glass of wine in her entire life!
Let's be real.....the dog was the smartest out of everyone lol
Dear god, for real. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What about Chessie?
No. 🤔😑.
@@delete---7593 yeah since the beginning the dog knew the twin girl was not its owner and it was another girl.
Yes, Sammy was a smart dog, and he got to know Annie, and eventually came to like her.
"Well, just do what she says and meet her upthairs." LOL
Even Chessy understood Elizabeth's slurred speech from being drunk!
I loved this scene! Loved how Denis almost fell over from seeing her after 11 years she still got him hook!~ Take that Cruella De Vil! XP
The twins also called Meredith "Mommie Dearest!"
" Good doggie " Even the dog knows Meredith isn't to be trusted.
Dogs are smart! If people listened to their dogs more often, life would be so much easier!
"Hello Pet... You may call me aunt vicki!" Lindsay is like, WTF. LOL! XD
Annie in Disguise is like: "I'd rather be dead than call you "Aunt!"
Annie: oh HELL NO!
Lol, I always wondered as a kid if she really meant Sammy.
She didn't. She was referring to Annie in Disguise!
"Would you believe, Martin, that I've never tasted vodka before this trip?"
"You could have fooled me, ma'am."
"Come on, let's rock-and-roll!"
"I am in such MAJOR trouble here!"
That's hard to believe!
RIP Natasha 💕
Yes. The whole entertainment industry - though industry is not the right word - will miss her... She and Lindsay Lohan made the movie 'The Parent Trap' what it was in 1998... One of the rare occasions when a remake is as good as, if not better than, the original... That's my personal opinion...
Supratibha Roy I agree. The original was great, and so innovative and creative. It would be really hard to recreate and/or top that, but in this case it did. I still love the original, but given the choice between the two, I prefer this version more.

Fun fact: Mrs. Blake was played by the same woman who played Vicki in the Hayley Mills version! 😃
Same character.
No, I think it is meant to be a joke that her name is also Vicki. It is the same actress-Joanna Barnes. Interesting that Hayley Mills didn't do a cameo either.

Who knows? Vicky (Meredith's mother) could be Vicky Robinson years later. The timeline fits.
Yep!!! Looks like Meredith’s mother is really “Vicki” from the 1961 Parent Trap. Wow, guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree huh??? 🍎 🌳🤣
This movie was made 37 years after the original. If Meredith is 26 now, that means Vicky had her 11 years after leaving Mitch
I love Nick’s expression and action when he sees his ex-wife after 11 years LOLOLOLOLOL

The song is called "In the mood" by Glenn Miller as the Title says ;)
Glenn Miller did a version of it, but he didn’t write it!

Hahaha!!! I never even looked at it that way before, but that’s probably true. I always thought she was kind of telling the dog to “behave himself” in front of these people. But she may have actually really been cheering him on for trying to bite Meredith. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's "Chessy" and she knew what Meredith was.

LOL! I was sooo psyched to hear this song in the movie! Only after I began listening to Big Band music did I know who this was. I love both versions of the movie.

“Hallo pet, you may call me aunt Vikki!”
Yuck!
Loved how Joanna Barnes made a reappearance in this Parent Trap movie as Meredith’s mother. Even giving her character’s name “Vicky” just like in the original movie, LOL. That was rather interesting.
Makes me wonder if her character is actually the same Vicky from the 1961 Parent Trap? Would make sense since “that” Vicky probably would have been about the same age as “this” Vicky we see here in 1998. Since Meredith is 26 in 1998, that means she was probably born around 1972 which was 11 years after the first Parent Trap came out. Vicky is soooo fake just like Meredith is in this movie too. Like mother like daughter, LOL???
Guess we can imagine that after Vicky’s engagement with Mitch failed in 1961 that she found some other rich man to be a little gold digger to, LOL! Guess that new man was Meredith’s father in this movie.
Who knows how many new “boyfriends/fiancés” Vicky went through after Mitch until she finally met her match??? Guess it took a while since she did not have Meredith until 11 years after breaking up with Mitch. Wonder if Meredith ended up having a similar life to Vicky after her engagement with Nick failed??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it's definitely the same Vicky.
@needles1987 I like to think this too. 😉
The storyline didn't say whether or not it's the same Vicky from the original version. If it is, she should have warned Meredith about what happened to her in the Summer of 1960! As for Meredith herself, we'll never know unless a sequel comes out whether or not she got as lucky as her mother did after her failed engagement to Mitch.
@@LisaKoffler It is the same character. And I'm sure she did warn Meredith, but the director just didn't show it - it would have upstaged the whole movie, never mind leak out the ending for those who never saw the original.
broadstreet21, it's the same actress, Joanna Barnes who played Vicky, and I don't know about "upstaging," but Meredith had to tell Vicky what happened, and she had to be shocked about history repeating itself! In BOTH versions, Mitch and Nick lied to them - they didn't have one daughter, they had twins!
